  • During World War II, tank production was an essential part of the war effort, with factories in the United States, Soviet Union, Germany, and the United Kingdom producing vast numbers of armored vehicles. These tanks played a critical role in battles across Europe, North Africa, and the Eastern Front, and the ability to manufacture them quickly and in large quantities often determined the success or failure of military campaigns. Factories were retooled or newly built to meet the enormous demand for tanks, with mass production becoming a hallmark of wartime industry.

    T 34 production in russa was ~58 500 from 1940-45, + 2700 in 1946 = ~61 200. In Poland and the Czechoslovakia another 4500 from 1951-58. So the number is ~ 66 000. The number of spg-s on t34 chassi is 5500 (szu-85 , 100 , 122 )

84,000 T34's...a lot of them didn't even get through a full tank of fuel.
