I don't know how I lived so long without every hearing this piece or about Walter Rabl! Definitely underrated and deserves more attention.🥰

Golden times, when music compositions were always clear and gorgeous in style and structure, even those written by not-so-famous composers.

If I hadn't seen the composer's name, my first guess would have been Johannes Brahms. This is so beautiful!

Il y a vraiment beaucoup de très belles musiques par trop méconnues.......😮

that finale is incredible. I hear people compare Rabl to Brahms a lot, but that's a level of unfettered, vigorous happiness from which he always shies away.

That's nonsense. Brahms composed one of the most euphoric pieces of classical music ever written. The finale of his opus 120 no.1 (the clarinet/viola/violin sonata).

Rabl didn't write much, which is a pity. This quartet won 1st Prize in a competition. But who was the judge? Someone called Johannes Brahms (I wonder if his music was any good) :-) :-)

Definitely fantastic music. I'm sure that Rabl will get played more. Very well written chamber music

The slow movement is reminiscent of Schubert's Wanderer Fantasy - very Brahmsian allusion!

Delightful! That climactic passage after 3:55 where the melody is tripled in three octaves is so powerful. The fourth movement sounds almost Baroque at times. Thanks for helping us discover this composer.
