I met and played with Pharoah back in the late 70's. A truly humble and nice person. Use to go by his house in Richmond, CA and talk with him. He pulled out a box full of mouthpieces, and said take what you want. A masterful player and truly humble individual!

Met him backstage after a show in London. Such a humble man, not even aware of his tall stature. He was kind to autograph a cd (Shukuru) I was carrying in my jacket pocket.

I remember back in the mid-1960s when people said Pharoah Sanders (and Archie Shepp, and others) not only were the end of jazz but were uncompetent in the fundamentals of the music. How about this?

Nice ballad. Sorry to say, but the doube bass sounds horrible. It should have been tuned beforehand. Thanks anyway for posting!

My ears don't detect anything wrong with this double bass.
