I remember hearing this song on jazz stations in NYC and DC.
I liked it then and I still like it!
Pharaoh Sanders wow! He was so incredibly talented!

When i first met Pharoah Sanders i asked about this song. I had been playing it a lot then. I told him how beautiful it was and how much ii loved it. I then asked him what was his inspiration behind it. He looked kind of annoyed at me as if to say, man this is'nt a damn interview. Then said " I wrote it for my wife, Bedria was my wife". That was all he said lol.

I Love Pharoah always have, I use to see him live at Bakers Keyboard Lounge in Detroit 1970's. I love when he plays like this.

I feel Pharoah Sanders is a fresh connection to John Coltrane, sometime when he screams he sounds like he's waking up Trane's spirit, you can tell they were great friends from hearing the crisp proficiency of Pharoah's horn, he learned a lot from Trane, and he shares it, oh how beautiful. Thanks

Thanks for posting the name of that lounge...I saw Pharoah there in the 70's but couldn't remember the name of the place. Was close enough to have my feet up on the stage!!

This seems to be a textbook divulging the secret to levitative flight, written in sheet music on diaphanous bedsheets for pages.

Bedria, where are you my Cincinnati friend? Dr. DePillars is having the VCU School of Arts Building named after him today!
