Hi, i was wondering, how's the terrarium bioactive aside from the plant, is there springtails or any other recycler you put there? Or is it enough with having a plant?? Also, how's the terrarium going?
Personally I think natural and bioactive enclosures are beautiful mate. I look it as its better to glimpse heaven than it is to stare at hell. Dont get me wrong made ant nests are cool and its intresting to see the inner workings of the colony. I think maybe its because I own many tarantulas and have done for years so im used to not seeing my pets so my ants are in natural bioactive enclosures. But all that matters is that was a great video mate.
Use paper towel and super glue to bind the rocks and stuff. It holds just as good if not better than cotton. It's what I use along with many people that do aquascaping. I just find the paper towel hardens and works better than cotton. Also, how come you don't put fluon on the sides of the outworld/bioactive setups? It would allow you to open the lid without having ants escape. And if you don't mind me asking, where are you located?
Thanks for the paper towel tip buddy, about the barrier thing under the lid was the best part they will last longer if place there. And I'm from the Philippines buddy.
@Dcolony awesome. Love the species in the Philippines. I put the barrier under the lid and along the top edge so I am able to remove the lids without having to worry about ants escaping while I do maintenance. Also, using the rocks to make and area underground for them to nest around is an awesome idea. I never thought about doing that. It seems to really help with keeping the plants alive.
Pheidole parva have many similarities to my own colony of pheidole anastasii they are both orange and red, they are monogynous, they are super small, they both grow small colonies, (anastasii max out at only a fe thousand workers), and they are both dream species for both of us, can’t wait for both our colonies to grow The only difference is that your species is native to your area, but my species is only found in some greenhouses of my nation and worldwide (hence their common name, the green-house big-headed ant), so I had to order them
ik im late but i would like to build a home like this for my pheidole species (pallidula) and was wondering where you got that acrylic box i cant find it. If you do see this and decide to respond that would be awesome!
i got a question i orded a ant queen but idk what container to put them in cause i cant find any simple plastic containers like example the one you used in ant war video looked like them perfect container but i cant find it any way i love your videos
