You like him more than kevin moore? The band was at their absolute creative peak with Awake. Kevin wrote all their best lyrics. They lost so much when he left. You listen to space dye vest alone, one of their most unique songs and it was all kevin.
@@trenken That's right i love Kevin Moore, killer player and wrtiter, i just prefer Sherinian's synth sounds, more organic, almost guitar like. It suits very well DT's sound. It's a personal view.
the contribution of derek sherinian to DT is very underated . he is underated . just look at the album he released after his 'departure' from dream theater
I caught myself listening the whole live catalog from Dream Theater Once in a LIVETime is by far the best live release, the band was clearly haveing a lot of fun back then
To me, Falling Into Infinity is their best album. It sounds incredible production wise and Derek Sherinian gave them a different sound that made it stood out from their previous albums. Too bad he left the band so soon.
26:19 etc. - oops, Derek's fail... But it's strange for me, because "Lie" it's a simple composition for keyboards (and this rythmic part, before JP's solo, too)... The best era of DT in my opinion... They not young, not old, tracks is VERY beautiful and powerfull, greatest sound, cool instruments... In other words - fullest juice of musicians.. They "alive", but cooler, then in the "children DT 80's era", and without plastic, LEDs, robotic.. (as heros from comics)... Yep, and JM was a very dark and interesting person in this time... :) Cool time...
one more time... OMG nobody giving a single fuck on Derek's keyboard solo!! LOOOL COME ON MAN!!! What were camera people thinking about??? keys were only am ornament or what???
I love all keyboardists dt had, but Derek is really the one that has that wtf was that factor. Plus he'd deffinitely a good performer. His only problem to me* is the way his tones are way too guitar like. *I know he wanted to be a guitar player, and I know some people enjoy his tones. I personally like too, it's just way too dominant in a way nearly turning dream theater songs into as if they are his solo project.
lol I'm not anyone special, I don't know anyone in the band or anything like that. I'm just a normal DT fan who has a collection of DT bootlegs that I like to share.
Sherinian is my favourite DT keyboardist, love his sounds

I agree. Love Derek. He is my fave. Was there far to short a time period. Thankfully I got to see him live at least.
With Derek Sherinian, it was the most rock times ever as for DT !
Nothing beats the sound of an actual Hammond Organ for me. Derek always had one in his rig
@@88omair agree
@@88omair with the lead sound too. He kicked ass! They made a mistake to change it with Rudess.
He is the king of lead sound. JR doesn't come close

HOLLOWOXDT1 Inertia..
planet x...
and take a look at the album they released after they booted him...
@@cruddler6306 one of the best!
@@cruddler6306 both sfam and 6° are amazing
Seen DT quite a few times. This was the best tour I've seen.

Petrucci's guitar tone was incredible here
How amazing La Brie's voice up to 97..Incredible!
Best DT sound ever.. Best album. Derek Sherinian best sound. Best balance, feeling and more... 🔥
Thanks for finding and uploading this. I was actually at this show. Never knew there was footage of it.
How i miss Derek and MP! Good old Hollow Years
The Ibanez years ;-)
gktde9874 Wish it stayed that way! Very few can afford the $500 JP musicmans.
The better years
@@UlfhedinnNorsk $500? Maybe for a Sterling. More like $2-3K.
Yeaaaaahh man!! Why are the Ibanez sooo good???? Killer funking metal and brilliant sound!!
Thank you, this is pure gold.
this is the real DT Soul
Indeed.
Good ol' days when VIVA used to play real music. Great performance, LaBrie was ace on stage back then... Sad how things went downhill...
Thank you, Vince, for this Post I have the disc butt this is this first time I've seen video with sound as awesome as this...
My pleasure! The audio source is actually the same as all the other versions of this bootleg, I just EQ’d it.
Derek Sherinian reminds me of Derek Zoolander in this video. LOL. Now I know where they came up with the character for the movie.
Jacob T hahahaha yes man, u are absolutely right....
hahahahah damn it, I know Derek for 20 years and never seen this similarity 🤣🤣 So fucking hylarious.
The real of Dream Theater
I miss these times. Such an awesome band, it was.
To me, Falling Into Infinity is their best album. It sounds incredible production wise and Derek Sherinian gave them a different sound that made it stood out from their previous albums. Too bad he left the band so soon.
i was there ........ ❤️🔥 my third time seein' dream theater live .......
I Love DT today but i miss iron Mike Portnoy
Not anymore my friend…….not anymore!!😊
I was there - one of the best concerts I have ever seen live - this brings back a lot of good memories
the times, when laBrie had his voice!
12:49 has that Jon Lord vibe to it.
I enjoyed it.. please share if you had more dude..
25:36 haha :D
Best album 💪🏼 rocking man the tone they had fuck I miss this!
Tks for upload
Those were the days....❤️❤️❤️❤️

Sons of Apollo has become a godsend (no pun) for those of us who loved seeing the Portnoy/Derek partnership

wowwww
They had a power cut during the Glasgow gig on this tour and mike invited a guy to come up she sing Warpigs. He was so good lol.
That was during the Metropolis 200 Tour
@@TheDarkEternalKnight07 my bad you're right I think porcupine tree were due to support or was I high?
@@andym28 they opened some shows on that tour!
@@TheDarkEternalKnight07 no porc tree 2000 cancelled the gig. I think they ended up replacing the drummer
Wheres the bass? Its turned down so low. The sound is so empty without it.
Where is the performance of Lie from? They didn't played the song in that show
Cool man! Thanx
My pleasure!
27:10 or so Derek appears to be laughing his ass off
probably MP sticking his tongue out or made a funny face at him

26:22 I didn't know JP could fuck up something like that.
When DT had soul and feeling 😥
trial of tears mana?
That was the age when their music was listenable before they start doing weird stuff since 2005.
Question:
Who are you haha
lol I'm not anyone special, I don't know anyone in the band or anything like that. I'm just a normal DT fan who has a collection of DT bootlegs that I like to share.
Alirght! Sorry for the delayed response but cool!
12:55 did he just say Falling was their best work? lmao.
As a whole probably not, but several songs on the album are definitely up there.
Besides, it's not like he could say it sucked.
Then Rudess came and ruined everything...
Shut up
Derek/Kevin >>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jordan... musically.
much much much better compared to Dream Theater 2023
Tks for upload
