Thanks! This meet was the only one where I never derailed. That's a tall order for a Mikado with a lightweight pilot. Takes a lot of maintenance to keep the switches correctly adjusted.
Myself, a boxcar loaded with supplies, the LALS super-heavy bench car, and a riding car with my conductor. That LALS car was about 4 regular cars... :-)
i remember going to lals before my family moved to Massachusetts. that car ride is why i hate long car rides. but that is besides the point. awesome vid. p.s., one day i will have a train like that.
Beautiful engine couple questions. One my biggest concern about live steam is the health risk from breathing in thd coal smoke. Its like smoking cigarettes not good for you to breath. Is anyone in the community aware of the risks and is there any way you could make it so it puts out less smoke? The grid over the smoke stack seems to work really nice at defusing it so it all doesn't go in your face. Also does OS or anyone else make a 440 mogul type of locomotive like this that burns wood? Love your color choice this would be my engine right here. Did you build it and how long did it take? Would love to get into this hobby looks like a lot of fun. I like this locomotive becaue it reminds me of the Roy O' at Disney World.
Hello tburzio I am a number of videos of fan you are us to your post. Among them, the video of this LALS is very complete and high, is the most favorite in me. Other works are also to that I saw, but did not seem to be too much recently uploaded. Will that have been saying the "power block down?" In other videos have been something to do?If also I would like to watch all means latest LALS running video when it was attached is convenient. I would like once to ride together if come true for one dayAnd I want to also listen to the "Hello" or "Thanks" in the beautiful voice of tburzio!
dude that hill is so hard to climb with 1.5" scale loco's.... you have to build speed for that hill... but your lucky that you have traction.... but besides that... awesome vid man!

A very impressive video ride and from what I can see of it a beautiful locomotive.

I love this ~
awesome! I would love to run there with my train set
What kind of a load were you pulling up the grade through the tunnel? Great video!
My main problem was the weight of the LALS bench car. Weighed a ton! Except for that we would have made it a lot easier, perhaps with passengers...
0:03 what was that

LOVE that spark arrester on the funnel. Is that a requirement?
Yep, the area around the tracks at LALS is highly flammable! :-)
I know I grew up in LA and have find memories of visiting that layout when I was little-it is far larger today!
the spark arrester should be a net inside the stack , because it looks ridiculous with it
Did guy 😢you have a great time and a good day to me and your friends and friends and I will see if myou you😊 1:47
oh, can people who know the works of steam locos try to drive one of these with a live steam hogger surpivising?
i mean that i know the controls on an engine like the mogul 4-4-0 4-6-2 2-8-4 4-8-4 4-4-4
Fix them valves!
