    I drove the following car with these stage 2 maps.
    Pumaspeed 2r
    Peron 2 Pro
    Revo II
    Nexus 2N
    Collins Performance CP2E
    Superchips Bluefin stage 2
    I also added into the mix TRS stage 2 and Mountune MR230 for advertised price, power and torque figures.
    It's taken some time but I have managed to drive 6 of the main players when it comes to remapping your Mk7 Fiesta ST! Hopefully it helps to finally answer one of the most asked questions online within the Fiesta community "Lookin' to go stage 2, who's the best?"
    Every cars map delivers its power and torque differently and you definitely feel that on the bum dyno. I had recorded driving 5 of the 6 map, my hard drive died and I lost the footage but the experience and info gained was too good not to share.
    Bare with me as there is a lot of info to get through.
    None of the companies mentioned in this video knew about or contributed to the making of this video other than passing over some of the power and torque figures via social media.
    I hope you found the info helpful and helps guide towards a map that may suit your driving style and what you want to use the car for. My best advice is to drive as many as you can to get a feel for what you want but if that isn't possible, I hope my descriptions can help.
    Prices and info were gathered by myself online from each companies website or by asking for some of the answers on a companies Social Media page. Prices and figures were correct as of early 2021 when I completed the research.
    A huge thanks to guys who let me drive their cars, most who made a specific trip just to meet up and let me drive their pride and joy. Thanks for trusting me with the cars.

    Nice video. Think you have it spot on with our software, we design it on the road and track to give that balance of performance, longevity and driveability. The quoted figures on our website do have a range, the main reason for this is that we offer 3 performances modes for 95, 97 and 99ron fuel, so along with climate conditions, dyno and hardware upgrades, you will always see varying peak dyno numbers. But glad you liked the feel and drive of our software 👍

      Thank you for watching and commenting. It's been great to hear from some of the companies featured in the video and all have said my descriptions sound accurate 👍. Great job on the software. Anyone would be very happy with their choice. Is your software specifically tweaked for different ron fuel and conditions worldwide? Our "best" available fuel is BP Ultimate, Shell V-Power and Caltex Vortex at 98 Ron.

      @@fordyford With Revo software it has 4 modes installed within the ECU, then with the Revo SPS you can put the car into a specific mode within seconds with the OBD port. On the Mk7 ST, you have Stock Performance, 2 Performance Modes (Specific for different fuel quality) and then Antitheft, which disables throttle response.

    • @fordyford
      @fordyford  3 года назад +3

      Could the SPS switch be purchased at a later date or does it need to matched with the car when a car is remapped?

    • @RevoHQ
      @RevoHQ 3 года назад +4

      @@fordyford Can be bought at any time. When the Revo software is installed the modes will be on the ECU and the Revo Dealer will put the car in the right mode for you. You can then get the SPS later which will allow you to switch the modes yourself.

    Awesome review Laim, very interesting that your top three doesn't have the two most comment tunes in Australia. It's such as small turbo that pretty much all Stage 2 maps run it flat out so the fine tuning gains come from other parameters. This is why I believe they all drive differently. Great Job Mate.... Great video - I eventually went for the Collins CP2e remap (with the ITG induction kit and turbo actuator) with the extra pops and bangs....... and loving it. The rev limit has been increased to 7200rpm but at 7000rpm your pretty much puffed out. The power delivery is noticeable, especially in 2nd gear and when shifting the power comes in straight away (no shift lag). The pops and bangs come it at 4000rpm+ which again is nice as its not an alarm clock at 6 in the morning but gives a great sound coming down from above 4000rpm (it would have been better if it came in at 3500rpm but this is not under their control). Martin@Collins is very knowledgably and some tips he gave were; 1. run 5w30 oil (some sites still show 5w20 as needed) and 2nd (my favourite) being don't be scared to take it to the rev limiter - the engine is a beast so you can rag it all day long without worry (assuming you have coolant, oil n stuff lol)

    • @fordyford
      @fordyford  Год назад

      Thanks for watching. The CP2E is definitely developed for drivers and not boy racers. 5W30 is specified in our handbooks here in Australia so I'm not sure where the 5W20 comes into it really.
      The pops and bangs were a bit much for me. I have a seperate video where my mate took me out in his car and he drove with the CP2, then changed to CP2E and then added the pops and bangs. His exhaust was a bitnloud and the bangs were really loud.

    • @meddylad
      @meddylad Год назад +1

      @Fordy Ford Thanks mate. In the UK my handbook say 5w20 preferred, but 5w30 can be used. I believe this was revised afterwards to 5w30 as standard. I do like the pops n bangs, but rarely get to show it off as getting above 4000rpm in built up areas with people is hard as you will be doing around 40mph in second, which isnt safe or sensible. Hey Liam,
    I'm interested in Laird performace stage 2 map (Nexus), because they offer a handset which offers you to change fuel map instantly, same as Revo SPS switch, but in my case is Laird performance more than 100€ cheaper..
    Can you explain me again how the map feels, you said that it's enormous amount of torque hit all at once, but isn't like that with Peron and Pumaspeed map? i dont understand what you meant by that, you said it feels most different of all of them, and that there is instant punch of torque. But as i understand is that the same as Pumaspeed and Peron maps. How does it differ from them? Does the torque at nexus hit sooner or later than in Peron/Pumaspeed map (rpm's wise). And how is the top end power? how does the nexus compare with others on the higher rpm's?
    For me, i'm not chasing the most horse powers, but i would like to have them. Durability is most important for me, as the car is my daily driver. I would go for CP2E, if they had options to change fuels, because this is very important for me..
    Thank you for your time, you've made very good and informative video.

    • @fordyford
      @fordyford  Год назад

      Hi Dominik, since making this video Laird have started making their own remaps. I think at the time they were basically made by TRS and tweaked for/by Laird.... I think.
      Although the info is out of date I'll try to explain.
      If you have been in a bunch of different turbo cars you will understand.
      Peron and Pumaspeed you felt the power down low and felt lit it was to do eith early boost. The feeling you get when it comes on boost, you got that feeling down low. Probably too low to be safe regarding lspi issues. Having said that they still pulled until high rpm.
      The Laird performance map at the time felt more torquey, almost like a V8 would. It didn't have that effect of boost hitting strong early but it still felt like it was pulling as a much larger capacity engine would.
      Obviously peak hp and torque were probably very close on all 3 as its essentially the same hardware with the same limits.
      I feel like the only real way tuners can sell something "different" for a stage 2 map eith the same hardware is to makd it feel different from the rest. Some do it more safely than others. I'd say Revo and Collins were the "most safe" of the lot without really losing out to the others peak power wise.

    Stratified tuning had a great article about downpipes on these cars. These stock turbos, being so small, are incredibly restrictive, and the stock cat is not a major concern like it is with bigger turbo cars like the gti. Still torn on the decision, as a nice catted DP are super pricey on these cars for some reason

    • @fordyford
      @fordyford  3 года назад

      Yes the turbine housings are tiny on these cars and limit power before fuelling etc.
      The stock cat must become restrictive at some point as it is quite big but has a very sharp and narrow bend right off the turbo and then an even smaller restriction after the cat. I assume to help the cat warm up quickly for emmissions.
      I went with a Whoosh Motorsports catted downpipe as it was about 2/3 the price of the next cheapest here in Australia.
      All of the UK companies that offer tunes (U.S tunes and OTS maps don't work on the Euro/Australian cars) specify you need an upgraded downpipe with sports cat/decat to run their maps.
      Thanks for watching and I will have a search for the article.

      To be honest, things have changed since I made this vid a couple of years ago.
      I know Pumaspeed have made a few revisions of their maps since, Laird Performance have moved to their own mapping (I think TRS was doing it when I drove the car). I haven't been fortunate enough to drive any more cars with revised map updates.
      The 30whp and 100nm gain was on remap day mp215 to revo stage 2, these were the gains had on the day on that dyno.
      Sorry it's not a great answer, I don't want to give any misleading info though. I am fairly sure though that Collins hasn't changed too much as their sales advisor still agrees with and shares my comments and experiences.
      My best advice is to try and drive cars with the maps you are interested in and make your choice that will be best for you.
      Generally speaking, companies will have good discounts if you upgrade from their stage 1 map to their stage 2.
