I already knew all of this from years of SAMP. But, I will say one thing since I quit SAMP and switched to text based RP for a few years. Having Me's and Do's together like you expressed sounds redundant when the other player can, for instance "/me refuses to take the gun" and directly answer the first player's /me.

(This is the most important one) 2: How do you pick up somebody to bring them to the hospital or into a car? 3: How do you pull out your gun, & how do you point & shoot? 4: How do you switch seats in a car? 5: How do you open your trunk or glovebox? 6: How do you open inventory to pick up an item or give someone else an item? Along with that, how do you search &/or rob someone? 7: How do you get into/work your walkie-talkie? - Sorry these are all so basic and there’s so many lmao But like I said, I’m having trouble finding any videos showing how to do any of these things, so hopefully you see this🤞🏼😅
Couldn't a lot of these /me /do's just be done via voice chat? I feel like these would be adding redundant elements, like describing how you hand over a gun or if the guy takes the keys to the car after you ask them to take them and then drop them.
One thing you didn't cover is accidentally running someone over and what to do about it. It happens. It isn't automatically VDM if you accidentally run someone over and kill them. What most people do is stop, apologize and explain that it was an accident. Then call EMS or put them in your car and take them to the hospital. Some people still might be shitlords and try to report you for VDM but most legitimate RP servers require some kind of proof like a video ("body cam") of the incident. So as long as you try to help them and try to fix the situation, you should be fine.
Question, let's say I RP as a hitman and someone hires me to kill a character quietly. How would you perform this without the target reporting you for VDM and/or getting banned? Obviously it would take you out of character to explain it to the guy before you kill them and after right?
@@KDreezy Yeah, that's RP. It's not RDM if your character has a legitimate IC reason to do it. You wouldn't really have to explain it to them, you'd have to explain it to admin. Get something to record, like a lot of server recommend Medal. Make sure you have proof. If it's a serious RP server, you shouldn't get in trouble. If it's a server you care about and that you "worked" to get whitelisted on, I'd check in the Discord before doing anything. Cause just because something "should" be kosher, doesn't mean some power drunk admin isn't just going to ruin your day anyway.
I tried to get into it, but as with all RP games on the internet, it's an over complicated death match. Watching right now a bunch of police fighting an ambulance crew while I smoke a joint and drive away.

/me /do are a bit old fashion because they were used in samp. At that time we didn’t have voice chat like these days but I didn’t mean to stop using them. Just apply it in the situation that you cannot do it or when there is no animation for that posture that you want to do Like the example that you gave for us “/me picks the flower from bushes” But when you want to push someone, you can do it by press left-click on your mouse. “/me pushes the man in front of him” It is unnecessary to text when you actually can do it. “/do would he able to do it?” Exactly, you can do it. When you push someone you won’t ask them that your pushing is completed or not. Don’t play like it was SAMP because this is FiveM and we have voice chat now. Use it and your life will be easier.
Not really, in real life if someone pulls a gun on you, you absolutely would run. That's one thing about NVL that's always bothered me. Because the way the rules are, they expect every single person to act exactly the same in every situation, when in reality people respond to different situations differently. I think it should just be reasonably or realistic for your character. Let's say your RPing as an EX Green Beret that's now a hitman (or an off duty police officer), when some criminal scum bag tries to hold you up at the ATM. You left your firearm in your glovebox but you still have a knife on you. It's just one guy and he looks scared. Just putting your hands up and letting him rob you seems a lot more unrealistic for your character. But nope, every person sees a gun and instantly becomes powerless. I mean even if your character is just a normal person, if someone has a gun and you have say a hatchet or knife, you could definitely fight. Most servers just expect you to give up the moment someone draws on you. Another situation, I was in my car parked with the engine running. It's a Neon, a very fast electric sports car, it's really quiet so you can't tell the car is on. Some thug pulls up and from in his car says "Ay yo, gimme that car.". I say, "No". He says "You're either going to give me that car or I'm going to shoot you and take it.". I say "How about neither?" before speeding away. On a lot of servers, I would have been required to give him my car. It was okay on my server though even though the guy tried to claim NVL. In real life if you're in your car, it's on and in gear, then some thug pulls up in his car and tries to car jack you. Most people would do what I did, whether the guy had a gun out or not. In fact, it seems more dangerous to turn your car off, get out and give the thug your car.
I will agree on all this beside the last part depending on your person your gonna fight back it’s actually unrealistic to not fight back cause if you look at real life events people who got held up fought back an still come out on top my way around this tho is depending how my day been but also in real life I would be fighting back I rather die defending myself than behind over like a helpless person

Fear RP is a point of irritation for me as anyone with self defense knows if they're dumb enough to put a gun into your face, they're capable of being grappled and disarmed. Also after being held up for the twentieth time in a week, I'd say someone may be less willing to play the part of hapless sheep.
Of course rp rules are serious but there some where I would considered not rdm. For example if you were selling some illegal stuff and the buyer is an undercover cop and he said your name, you know he is an undercover cop. But would they really say “Put your hands up”?!No, just surprise them cause that’s where they least expect it. To me, even if that is considered rdm? It’s more out of spite because they didn’t arrest the player hiding the fact that they were an idiot for saying the dealer’s name. That’s how it is in real life. If an undercover cop or informant were to say a dealer’s name, well then their cover has been blown and before they notice they’re quickly silenced. No witness. This is what I think but seriously it would be best for to hear the other side of the story and no one likes guilty until proven innocent.
Has definitely improved quite a bit since then! The FiveM servers r crazy compared to what there was back then haha definitely recommend trying it out! :)
the /do commands is so stupid, it doesn't make any sense. As a new person I jus lt Dont get it. Why would the victim who doesn't want to be pushed over the edge say would I be able to?

Hey, i would like to add some rules im a profesinall movie RP'er from SAMP . I want to add RK which is revenge killibg killing someone that killed you beacause your memory wipes after that. HGF healing in gun fights is not allowed on moat servers. LTA loging to avoid things like getting aressted or robbed is not allowed. And this with the rules that Zez listed above are the most impotant role playing terms .
For the last rule, would this example be allowed? Say me and a friend are in a car, 1 guy comes up to us to try and Rob us. He pulls a gun at the driver (my friend), I get out and show my gun. Would that potentially break that rule? Eventhoigh I'm not the one fearing.

Well, you could try using an animation command. I believe the command is "/handsup" If nothing works just write something like "/me puts both hands in the air" Have a wonderful day. ^^

About the meta gaming thing, I was watching a guy do street races in an RP server, and he said he tweeted abt doing the street race... does this fall into meta gaming?
Well if you read off the real internet and you attend it then yes but if he mentions it no i dont think so but he would have to do somthing in game to make your charcter know about the race. Meta gaming is gaining in game information without roleplaying it
@Zez Has the purpose of /do changed? From a RP perspective I understand why it's in the game (to describe a scene without having your character name as the first noun), but its usage seems pointless to me in the scenarios described. If you wanted to attempt to push someone over a balcony, you would just use OOC chat to ask if it's possible. If you were to describe open carry, you would use /me has a rifle slung around his back. For me /do only seems to have a practical purpose when it comes to describing something that doesn't pertain to your character, /do The room smells of ammonia.
Eh a little bit for sure, this video is def a bit old but using it as a descriptor is definitely still a good way to use it. This video was also made with heavy text/strict rp servers in mind :)

Fear RP is a point of irritation for me as anyone with self defense knows if they're dumb enough to put a gun into your face, they're capable of being grappled and disarmed. Also after being held up for the twentieth time in a week, I'd say someone may be less willing to play the part of hapless sheep.

Of course rp rules are serious but there some where I would considered not rdm. For example if you were selling some illegal stuff and the buyer is an undercover cop and he said your name, you know he is an undercover cop. But would they really say “Put your hands up”?!No, just surprise them cause that’s where they least expect it. To me, even if that is considered rdm? It’s more out of spite because they didn’t arrest the player hiding the fact that they were an idiot for saying the dealer’s name. That’s how it is in real life. If an undercover cop or informant were to say a dealer’s name, well then their cover has been blown and before they notice they’re quickly silenced. No witness. This is what I think but seriously it would be best for to hear the other side of the story and no one likes guilty until proven innocent.
In a nutshell, learn to play counter intuitively the way you would play on vanilla online. lol

Has definitely improved quite a bit since then! The FiveM servers r crazy compared to what there was back then haha definitely recommend trying it out! :)

Hey, i would like to add some rules im a profesinall movie RP'er from SAMP . I want to add RK which is revenge killibg killing someone that killed you beacause your memory wipes after that. HGF healing in gun fights is not allowed on moat servers. LTA loging to avoid things like getting aressted or robbed is not allowed. And this with the rules that Zez listed above are the most impotant role playing terms .
For the last rule, would this example be allowed?
Say me and a friend are in a car, 1 guy comes up to us to try and Rob us. He pulls a gun at the driver (my friend), I get out and show my gun. Would that potentially break that rule? Eventhoigh I'm not the one fearing.

If nothing works just write something like "/me puts both hands in the air"

About the meta gaming thing, I was watching a guy do street races in an RP server, and he said he tweeted abt doing the street race... does this fall into meta gaming?
Well if you read off the real internet and you attend it then yes but if he mentions it no i dont think so but he would have to do somthing in game to make your charcter know about the race. Meta gaming is gaining in game information without roleplaying it
@Zez Has the purpose of /do changed? From a RP perspective I understand why it's in the game (to describe a scene without having your character name as the first noun), but its usage seems pointless to me in the scenarios described. If you wanted to attempt to push someone over a balcony, you would just use OOC chat to ask if it's possible. If you were to describe open carry, you would use /me has a rifle slung around his back. For me /do only seems to have a practical purpose when it comes to describing something that doesn't pertain to your character, /do The room smells of ammonia.
Eh a little bit for sure, this video is def a bit old but using it as a descriptor is definitely still a good way to use it. This video was also made with heavy text/strict rp servers in mind :)
