- Join me on a visual journey through Scotland in my watercolor sketchbook. This is my favorite watercolor sketchbook and has traveled with me since 2022. Although it is a bit large and heavy for hiking, the paper is luxurious and I never regret taking it with me! I already bought a new version :)

Oh, Sarah, your sketchbook and this video are just lovely. I got a bit teary eyed. It may be what I need to get me back to watercolor painting. I've been in such a slump this last month.

Again just wanted to say thank you for sharing. You take me to such beautiful places with your videos, not sure you realise what a huge impact your work has for someone who cannot walk. Just seeing those rockpools took me to a very happy place in my more mobile years. You lighten and enliven my spirit - thank you.

Hi - always in two minds now about whether to watch your videos or not! They make me so homesick! Being an expat and having a parent die in a country as amazing as Scotland is difficult. But thanks so much for taking me back - my mother took me (forced me?) to go (again) around some of the Scottish coastline with her before she died.
I have received your first gouache box - I'm deeply into watercolour portraits at the moment (silly and impossible!) - Watercolour is probably the most beautiful and illusive for me, and I was so very impressed by your own watercolours in this sketchbook tour ... thanks for sharing, I can see the work going into the mastery ... I'm thinking Cotman.
You have really inspired me with gouache on tinted paper. I've bought two sketchbooks (predictably the Stillman & Birn and also a Clairefontaine something or other ...) as a result of watching you ... and a beginner's gouache set, before I subscribed to your box. I was so happy with the way I could instantly start painting and expressing.
But will persist with the watercolour. I think one needs to have explosive sessions? Just using the colour and the gorgeous transparency?
Just back from Paris (I live in France) and seeing the Impressionist exhibition and Monet's waterliles for the first time. Really over-powering. I almost feel as if I was there in 1874.
Mainly just want to say that you've really inspired me. Wish I could do your Toulouse workshop, but it will be too expensive for me. Instead, I will join your Patreon. So much to learn from your gentle style of teaching ... many thanks.

Wow, it was amazing how you wove the actual scenery in with the paintings you did of those areas! Just gorgeous! The paintings are so beautiful. Does gouache have as much of a drying shift as watercolor does sometimes? I've never gotten into painting with it, but I may start. 3:11 Made the mistake of using a fountain pen on rough watercolor paper once. Once the ink went nuts, there was no saving it. I'm thinking of trying it again to see if I can 'make it work'.

Do you wet your wc pencils first or draw with them and then wet with brush?
Does anyone take photos of scenes to use as reference later? I haven’t heard anyone talk about it.
