    Really good tutorial. One suggestion though, perhaps a dark background when you're knitting in white. It might be a bit easier to see. Thank you for sharing.

    Update: made a pair using regular rib stitching instead of the cable she did and the entire glove came out great. The only thing that I have a problem with is how big it is since my hands are more small and slim. Hopefully since I used cotton yarn that it will shrink a bit when washed. Other than that these were great gloved to make. I did 7 rows of rib in the beginning and end and 4 rows of rib for the thumb for anyone curious

      Sorry just saw this after I said you could do the rib in place of cable! Mine came out bulky too, but I since I always knit with wool (alpaca, marino, etc) I like more room so it can shrink a bit and still for after washing. Congrats on making these, so fun!

      @@yllahartman331 they still fit and they look nice! I’ll have to try wool yarn sometime:) other than that thanks for the replies!

    So instead on putting the thumb stitches on a holder, I used other needles to finish knitting the thumb THEN I finished the top of the mitten. I found it puts less strain on the surrounding stiches

    I've never seen a better simplified version of all those stitches! You're amazing! Everyone really overcomplicates cable/kfb and I went out and bought 20 different tools because they all said I needed them and it turns out that was all LIES! I am a long time fan THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR VIDEOS!!!! 10⭐ review! Highly recommend!

    I just finished this pattern. I elongated the pattern for a longer hand and fingers. Also, I did a Icelandic cast off too. My first adult thumbed fingerless mit.. I had only done baby mittens with zero digits. Thanks for the help!

    Wow thanks you for the great demonstration. It would be easier to see if it was in another coloured yarn or dark tabletop to make it easier to see.

    Thank you for this tutorial! Is so easy to follow and the written instructions for each row directly on video helped a lot! I personally had no issue with white yearn and background as the needles was dark. I just made the left one and looks perfect! I am looking forward to finish the right one tomorrow:)

    I would have appreciated a more close up detail of the item as you go to show beginners better, also the colour choice and background table make it very hard to see, sadly not for me

  • @sunblush55
    @sunblush55 4 года назад +1

    It would have made more sense to use a color since the background and the yarn are the same co!or and you can t see it well.

      Viv Walmsley - I know what you mean. She's just doing it that way so she doesn't have to move the stitches onto a stitch holder. If you move then onto a stitch holder you'll get the same result. I'm going to make them, but without doing any cables at all. I don't like messing with tight stitches like that. : )

      You just knit the second stitch first then the first but pull both off the needle after you've knitted them. If you were using a cable needle you would put the first stich on it, knit the second stitch regularly then replace the stitch on the cable needle onto the left hand needle then knit it also regularly. She just doesn't bother using a cable needle as it's only one stitch before the other. Hope that helps you

    • @KittenBowl1

      Don’t do cable stitch. Not worth the effort. Just do 2x2 rib which is knit 2 stitches and pearl 2 stitches. Also these gloves are kind of big fit..I would measure properly. Not sure why she only has one size. For a good glove and mitten pattern that needs to be fitted, it normally offers different sizes small medium and large with measurement of each.

    . I can not translate everything. the rest of it is stockinette- How to understand this?

    • @bcaldwell3849
      @bcaldwell3849 5 лет назад +3

      Hello S byS. Stockinette stitch (or Stocking st) is a basic knit stitch. When knitting a flat fabric, it means to alternate a *knit row* with a *purl row*. Knit one side, then purl the other side.

  • @KittenBowl1
    @KittenBowl1 3 года назад +1

    Too hard to see the background being white with yarn white too.. Also why cable ribbing?? Not worth the effort. It doesn’t look much different to 2x2 ribs. And cable stitches are better to be done to show off in pattern not in ribs. Not a good tutorial or design..and why doesn’t she provide sizes?? It’s big gloves as-is like large size.
