I would not see it as the price range that gives the results ... it is more the software and company behind it ... the X431 pro elite is the cheapest way of getting in the LAUNCH platform. With the launch software you are getting more consistent results ... if you put your mind to it ... you will eventually get good results also with the Xtool products ... just takes some troubleshooting. My Advice ... if you make money with it ... get the launch ... if you don't get a D7S ... also if you decide of buying one please consider using our links so that a small commission comes to the channel and I am able to make more videos.
Hi, can you please explain. Do all of these more expensive scanners rather the cheaper small hand held devices, have to be connected to the internet? as i thought you just connect them to the vehicle and if the car is not new the scanner will already be updated to the older model of car!?
for 90% of cases for the Launch products, you can use Local Diagnose and it will work. You will have to click on that back arrow as the unit wants to connect to the interment. also you will notice that they are forcing GPS location to be on so each and every time you use it, it will report where you are. @@gtibruce

Hand moisturiser. Or just touch your face, with the finger and then the screen. If the reason is not dry hands, try to chat with the seller maybe your unit is faulty. @@genuinecarworkshop6533
Amazing content, been watching some of you scanner video what would you recommend for home DIY scanner. I would be using it to log abs data and dpf pressure to correctly diagnose faults ext. I'm a mechanic but want something at home instead of keep going to the shop to scan cars..
For data logging, any Xtool is a winner. Even the small A30M, used on your phone. If you want to do service functions, fuel bleeding, dpf regens, sometimes the Xtool fails to perform the function and you need to find other ways to get it done (aka actuator test for fuel pump to simulate fuel bleeding). There is no perfect tool. the X431 pro Elite is a good all round tool as it has a big screen and the software is very stable. The launch software is on TOPDON and on Kingbolen scanners. My purchasing order would be the Xtool A30M and after that the X431 elite. And you have a portable solution the A30M(free lifetime updates) that you can keep in your car always. And for the serious stuff you take the X431.
there is no scanner that can do that. sometimes, depending on the vehicle, mileage info can be stored in other ECUs and maybe if you find that info you could say that something happened ... but it is not something that you can 100% trust
Royal pain in the neck to install apps and they should have expanded the screen to fit the borders. I am sending this back. The browser is garbage.Also the auto vin did not pick up my 2002 toyota corolla where the Xtool D8S did. Also, could not set up the my yahoo email account. There is like a 1 inch black border around the device, what is the point of that?
that black border for me is just right so that I can rest my finger :). at the end of the day it boils down to personal preference. I have BMW ISTA, Xtool A30m , d7, d7w, kingbolen k7 an the x431 pro elite ... and use the most the X431 and the A30m. Autovin on anything pre 2010 is problematic. Let me know what you think about the D8s .

The XTOOLL gives 3 years free updates vs 2 years LAUNCH, a good pro....
Hi, got one today but having issues with one update, all functions updates ok except the "chery" one, keeps failing, any ideas? thanks.
restart the unit. an try again. I had at a point some updates that did not want to install. they download ok, but did not install.

strange. for me the Launch seems more responsive than the Xtool products. Do you have dry hands ?

can you find out if the mileage has been rolled back and see the real mileage of the vehicule with this scanner?
