if bill becomes king, and this time uses the powers he got for good instead of what he was as a triangle, he redeems himself doesn't he? and to be absolved through becoming a different person? well perhaps they don't need to be same character at that point anyways. He is reborn as someone different, it doesn't matter. He wanted to have fun, be chaotic, partying. But he doesn2t have to act like that if he is born as a new person. He might be different. And that would absolve him i guess? Same person and a past life he can't change or remember.

Also sometimes the script gets messed up a bit during editing. (Sometimes content gets cut for example) so that can mess up the spacing.
also it never says punsihment. it says absolve. No matter which character bill might be, he doesn't have to be punished, only absolved.
I do still believe that King being Bill is possible, since The Axolotl's cryptic poem could also be interpreted as saying that Bill will return in a form that will allow him to be redeemed, and a transition from Bill to King definitely seems like a redemption to me. The point of giving Bill such a powerful form being a bad idea does still remain, but considering that The Axolotl is seemingly omniscient, it's not at all unreasonable to assume that it knew ahead of time the exact series of events that would play out if it brought Bill back as King, and, by extension, that King's existence would ultimately be a good thing.
And King was also born weak, and had to grown as a person to control his powers

personally, I like the theory that bill actually became reincarnated as Stan, since stan is the one who defeats bill, sort of a paradox, but there is small things with stans eyepatch leaving him with one eye shown as well as both bill and stan calling ford the same nicknames (I think it was "four-eyes" and "sixer". I dont remember who made the original theory vid tho

Everything points out to that, in the quest for the bill statue the only character of the show you can talk with (and the one that gives you clues about Bill's location) is Stan. But to me the implication isn't that he reincarnated on stan, that'd be cool if he wanted to get revenge on Ford in the future, but it sounds cheap and kind of nonsensical. I think what remains of Bill is a part of Stan, he's still alive in his memory but can't do anything, so he wishes to reincarnate at some point

Also, after Bill finishes invoking the Axolotl’s name, he shouts “STANLEY!” So maybe Bill might become Stanley because of him shouting his name after asking to be in another form

Both shows are definitely connected to amphibia as well which adds a whole new layer of evidence the idea that all three shows are connecting.

also another thing that points to owl house and gravity falls being connected is in journal 3 where theres a map of the world and theres dots showing where weird anomalies happen, there seems to be one in (or close to hard to tell) in Connecticut. Which is where luz lives in the human realm
12:44 in the original episode, right after when this clip is cut off, luz asks "is that short for something?" Though it isn't direct evidence, it's at least establishing a connection between Bill the huntsman and Bill Cipher.

Honestly, the fact that it is an axolotl makes me think more about the connections to Amphibia. We know that show also takes place in the same canon, given the references Owl House and Amphibia make to about each other.

You make some good points about Bill being Bill. That name just frustrates me. However, I’m still clinging to my theory of King being Bill. The Axolotl reincarnated Bill so he could be redeemed for his past. King has developed a lot over the course of the owl house and no longer seeks power. Exactly the kind of rehabilitation I think the Axolotl wanted. Also it seems worth pointing out that King is around 8 years old, according to google. GF takes place in 2012 and TOH presumingly takes place in 2020, the year each show was released. Meaning there’s an 8 year difference between the death of Bill Cipher and the begin of TOH. Adding up perfectly with our little Titan.

Actually, I disagree that King is a red herring. Sure, Bill being stuck as a mortal might be a good way to punish him, but what's a better way to absolve his crimes? By giving him a chance to do better. King has godlike power, but chooses a different path: to make friends. To have a family. To care about people. He even has to live through a situation with the collector similar to what Bill put the people of Gravity Falls through during weirdmagedden. The Collector froze the people of the Boiling Isles, used them ti amuze himself, disregarded their suffering. King was the one to tell The Collector: "Think about what you're doing to these people!" If King is Bill, that would mean the Axolotol succeeded, and Bill's crimes were fully absolved. Also it makes me feel warm and fuzzy to consider that someone so monstrous could turn into such a compassionate, fuzzy little boy.
Edit: since this seems to be getting a lot of attention I will mention I actually wrote a fanfic with this premise :)

Agreed! I think it makes for a more interesting story as well if Bill became King and not one of the titan trappers.
And did no one pay attention when the axolotl said he misses home and can not return he says he's happy but he is a liar.

TOH theory from you was the last thing I expected! I always look forward to your theories, because of how convincing and reasonable of evidence you find and present, however when I saw the title of this one I kinda rolled my eyes, because how often I heard from people “King is Bill” theory. And yet after watching it I gotta say you got me! It’s quite incredible how you can find nuances in media and connect the dots with each other to create a cohesive and logical idea. Even if what you say is not the case, your argumentation is very solid!!!

Fun fact, Axolotl is actually pronounced "ah-show-LOW-tch" in the indigenous language from which the word comes, which is a much cooler pronunciation imo

even though UTDR has a crazy amount of lore and hidden stuff, i imagine it's quite difficult to consistently upload new theories with the 3+ year breaks between new gameplay. I very much welcome this off-brand content. In general, theory videos are fun to watch for me anyway ehehe.

Like, imagine the punishment is that he was turned into a world constantly teetering on the edge of destruction, something he was so happily in control with once? It would explain why there are so many characters with traits that can be connected back to Bill. He was transformed into something that he previously wanted to destroy.

Dunno who it would be though, since there’s no villain in Amphibia that matches Bill’s desires and motivation.
Not even the Core since it’s technically made up of multiple people so it doesn’t represent one person’s singular thoughts. And of course, it’s already really powerful which the axolotl would not want to reincarnate bill as.

I think Bill's story is contained within Gravity Falls. Owl House is a completely different show.
Personally I feel Bill took the form of future Time Baby after he made a deal with the Axolotl. Becoming the one he hates.
You can even hear him audiably respond with "WHAT? NO..." in his reversed message.
As if he is in disbelief what Axolotl is proposing.
Then concedes with "DEAL."
The future time baby is the one with the Red mark that was causing destruction while Dipper and Mable were messing with the Time Machine, right?
