Very good tutorial. In case anyone gets stuck on the ridges, at about 12:57 he says click thumbnail but its actually ctrl+click thumbnail to make the selection.
At 13 minutes into the video it is NOT spoken that you need to press and hold CTRL and then click the outer layer icon to make it a selection. This was awesome! Thank you very much!!!

Great tut. We were able to follow and recreate a similar graphic, however, we did have to pause quite a bit to absorb all that you were sharing. We are now confident that with practice, we will lock this technique in.
Excellent tutorial. I'd say to anyone having difficulties, just re-rum the video. Sometimes you can miss the tiniest point which could be crucial. One thing for sure, although this video is only 38:08 min long, it's going to take a lot longer than that to come up with your own version.
Nice work! Wouldnt have thought that this would involve so many steps. (the sheer amount of steps makes me hesitant to make one myself). Their are a few quicker gides.. but yours looks much better... extra time shows.
I'm not sure what's going on with this, but I've tried to follow this, step by step and there are a couple of things that I can't replicate. When I use the polygon tool, I don't get the lines. I get the outline of a star and I don't see any way to transform the star into those lines. I watched that portion of the video twenty times, but when I click on the settings wheel, as is done in the video, what I see there doesn't match what's in the video. Also, when I tried to put the circles into the inner ring, what happens for me doesn't match the video, either. I'm using the latest version of Photoshop and this video is from 2015, so, I'm assuming this video isn't relevant anymore. :(
@@Oritsu Yeah, I ended up having to skip over the parts I couldn't do. My coin doesn't look nearly as nice, but I still ended up with a coin. Just without some of the designs on it.
hello PTC, i must have an older version of CS? 5.5. i am missing something because steps 10:00 to 13:40 do not work for me. It seems the cutting out inner & outter are not working. i did these steps 3X and it doesnt work. But this is a really good video! thanks
When I want to highlight something on a white background, I choose the magic want tool, highlight the white area, then Alt+S+I to invert the selection rather than painting over the foreground object. Much faster and easier.
Hello, when I got to the lighting part, after selecting the texture, the image did not display.. I selected even the red, green , non displayed. Please any solution
Appreciate the tutorial, but please explain *WHICH* layer you're working with. It's especially important when creating a mask I know which layer I'm applying the mask.

I've done a lot of tutorials. This one was great, however 38:00 turns in 3 hours very fast. This one was very frustrating my end result look nothing like this. :/
Great tutorial. One question, the final product looks amazing at 37:47, but I don't see how you get to that from what is seen at 37:44. Did some of the video get cut?
he just did the final adjustment in the end, I believe it has more saturation. just refer to the part in the video where he did level and curve adjustments.
i think very helpful and clear tutorial but i ve a problem :D (8:50) - i cant continue couse i can not find "path operator" at photopea editor, so it didnt seems like ur workshop. and arrows are the same, i didnt find and-or photopea didnt has this arrows (11:40) and again i can not find "path operator" at photopea so i cant do mini circle like ur workshop, it didnt shining and or didnt seems different angle and-or lights (17:07) is there any1 did this workshop at photopea? ty
Great Tutorial, but I have some minor nitpicks I wish you'd let us know the size you're using in the bevel and emboss. It's not easy to see what you're clicking on, even if you have the video in full screen. 12:58 You should have mentioned you need to click Control/Command Shift before clicking the Outer Ring thumbnail in order to select it. I had to try a couple of different keys before I figured out how to select the thumbnail correctly. Not to mention I created a layer mask on the wrong layer at first. 34:11 What type of brush, and what size? Like I said, even with the video at full screen, it's difficult to see exactly what tools you're choosing.

That tutorial is a few years old and I cannot change it, but the new ones have overlays and arrows that point to things.
What version of Photoshop cc are you using? I am running 19.1.3 and the Gradient Overlay in the layer style doe not look like on your tutorial.

Besides making sure that you are on the right layer, and that you have the light's color set to white I can't think of anything that would cause this.
