We don't need to pit green technologies against each other, we need to utilise all green technologies where they will perform best, for industrial, farming & construction hydrogen is an excellent solution

Bs on this one but I run a alternative 110 year old steam engine what will run on anything that burns ... including cow patties we don't need new stuff just refine the old tech

If emergency refueling is as simple as fossil fuel.

The reality is that this engine is more likely to bankrupt JCB than any EV maker. It's technically the wrong solution. A fuel cell would be better, but either is a dead duck because hydrogen is a dreadful way to move energy from one place to another. It's three times less efficient than using batteries for the same job. Batteries are improving and beginning cheaper and lighter. For the time being, JCB just need to use diesel engines and wait until batteries have improved enough. This is a huge waste of time, it will never be practical

    Is there a diesel/petrol hydrogen?
I sometimes use horsepower than torque

Open to anything other than being tied to electric I wish then =m all the best

Sad, propane is far more reliable. There is also ammonia and methanol based engines which are far more efficent.

hey l really think this is a massive step forward for industry , l wish they all would switch now , and let the chips fall what maintains to be the best and cleanest , good job JCB awesome company smart!!!

@@johnstevenson3728 A diesel engine when converted to run on propane properly will return emissions far lower than diesel and within the realm of Hydrogen. Hydrogen is only 15% efficient, where propane is upwards of 40% efficient with hydrocarbons in parts per billion. Water vapour is the predominant exhaust.

Well if the machine operators like a fuel tank close by (under their seat) with up to 10000 pounds per square inch fuel pressure in them then just fine.
And what used to be a diesel tank for refuelling close by with the same high explosive fuel in. JCB just dreaming.
Insurance policy. I think you just could not afford it.
