Is cannabis a California native? Plenty of it up in Humboldt.

You have no competition on the market Gary. Keep it this way and expend if you can. If the industry doesn’t listen, create your own industry. I wish I could buy a franchise a be a part of Laguna hills nursery legacy.

I see plenty of baby valley oaks. They grow like weeds in my yard and in parts of the yard that had absolutely zero irrigation. I also planted three ceanothus late May. Two conchas and a Skylark. The conchas are doing fine and I only water them maybe every 10-12 days. The Skylark almost immediately started declining and is pretty crispy brown and dead now even though it got no more, no less watering than the conchas.

Where was the rock? Did I fall asleep in class, and miss the part where Gary showed the rock?

Cory McLeod again. I probably should have mentioned that to dig the holes it required a lot of digging bar use. From what I heard this area is ancient lake bottom. Again thank you for teaching me so very much.

Dear Gary, thank you for your videos, I have learned so much from you sir. We live in Huachuca City, Cochise County, Arizona at an altitude of 4,890’. According to the USDA we have the Huachuca Series soil in zone 8b. I found two small bags of Gary’s Top Pot and one larger bag of your Acid Mix at Ace Hardware, Sierra Vista,AZ and of course left with all they had left. I know you’re time is very valuable and have to many questions I’d love to ask you but maybe one you might help me with. The Huachuca series soil is called both a fine sandy loam and a rocky loam with 35%+ cobble stone, 5-18% clay. I have planted a couple of pomegranate plants but they died and now I know why. The compost I mixed with the soil. My question is should I remove some of the larger cobble and replace it with pumice for planting fruit trees? While digging the holes for the plants there was an abundance of 3” to 4” cobble. I’ve watched many of your soil classes and fruit tree classes hoping someone would ask a question like mine but haven’t found one yet. I’d love to come to your classes but live to far away. I wish I would have found your channel before I moved from San Diego seven years ago. If possible I’d love to send some photos in the future, we’ll be having our house built this winter on our 4.42 acres. Thank you for sharing your knowledge sir, God Bless you and your family.

Hi Cory, neither Gary nor his staff tend to answer questions here in the comments. But, If you go to Gary's website, you can get his email address and ask him directly. He is great with getting back and I have done it a few times. Also, you can call his Laguna Hills Nursery and ask his staff or he might come to the phone. I don't like to call as he is there helping his in-person customers, but it is slower there Sundays-Tuesday and those are the best days to reach him on the phone. Good luck!

I have tried to grow a lot of california natives. Some live, some die. My nursery grows theirs in lava rock mix- zero bark. I'm frustrated because in my very hot inland valley, I don't know how much to water. How often, how much. If I guess wrong, it dies. I usually water slow and deep watering twice a week when it's hot and dry. We need more information on how to get the different plants established, especially in the more hot arid climate of the interior of California.. My red buckwheat was planted in the fall. 8 months in the ground and it appears unchanged. Not thriving. Some leaves show red and stressed but no flowers and no new growth.

I may have a very morbid question but it’s important. If I were to bury a dead animal ex cat..or any other small animal, and if I were to plant flower bulbs on top of it, or a tree or a shrub. Will the plant die? No compost will be used. I just want to give a proper burial and want a plant to thrive also. I have clay soil. Thank you.
