they will release this to shut the crowd up and atleast get a multi on the 40v platform but they will release a newer redesigned model in 1-2 years im calling it now
Good to see it’s arrived but a shame to see it’s seemingly the same design as the LXT one. It looks an unwieldy lump. I love the slim, compact look of the new Hikoki unit. A head to head perhaps?
Yeah it's comically large. Which was why it was hilarious that the yanks called it sub compact. Which part mate? The vibration? Anyway, good to see it being brought over.
The obvious difference will be the weight and the bulky battery on the arse end of it. It's good for those who want to stick to one platform but for use of the tool it's a bit pointless as weight and balance is such an important factor in a tool such as this.
@@riba2233 nah, it's laziness on manufacturer's parts. It's been so poorly done that everyone doesn't ask for it/assumes it can't be done. Fein 32133021010 as an example of a built in solution. But even if it's just holding the vac tube with one hand and the multi tool in the other, AWS makes a lot of sense. Jig saws, look at Mafell (IIRC) as one of the best designs, but like Festool as a minimum.
@@donayre21 That is an old design. The XMT04Z is 18V, appears to to have same basic design mechanism as this XGT, and is a couple years old now. Other than it requiring 2 hands (unlike other Starlock compatible designs), it works very well. Some may not like having a post, but that allows for compatibility with all Starlock versions
Starlock allows the use of much longer blades with higher moment of inertia that would destroy the pins on OIS tools, as well as more power for shorter blades.
@@voicelesstoolreviews No it’s not. This one chippy just wanted one. Fb marketplace was taken over when the 18v one came out because nobody likes starlock and didn’t realise I can pick up a brand new one for half price and I still don’t want it and I’m Makita through and through. Plus it’s slower cutting than the Milwaukee one that can also take both blades and is allot cheaper to buy

The darn thing is also quieter with the Hikoki

Did I see it cut reo. You got to test that too. Can’t wait to see the review.
When will be available in US?
When I’m years past my deadline and so I just copy my older sister’s assignment.
Can see a few differences to the 18v already. Hopefully they fixed the lever issue on this one!! 🤞🤞
Looks basically identical to the 18v version. It'll be interesting to see if there's any difference.

@@SammyInnit same battery size as on lxt version (lxt 5ah vs xgt 2.5ah)
Yes. Made my week
Next collated screw gun, and im happy
Was about to just buy the LXT. I’ll wait.
I want to see this compared to the new Hikoki multitool when you get it
wait to see the AC-DC adaptor for XGT
in your dreams
@@MrFullfatt yeah for sure , that made me sad man
I bit the line on the new sander,I hope so...
Release date in Aus !?
This year.
Just like the jigsaw, an inside use tool without AWS...why?
Dust collection on jigsaw and multitool is pretty pointIess anyways
@@riba2233It's a legal requirement in some countries.
@@SammyInnit ok but it still won't be used in real life so having aws is not crucial.

Not just an insisde tool, we use them plenty outside framing up, especially remodels, its your best friend
Haha finally 😁 Did you tell them to hurry up?

Tablesaw next...
@@voicelesstoolreviews now tell them every week to get rid of the pin. Should only take another 3 years.
@@toolscientist 100%, they are so slow lol.
Been holding off replacing my fucked 18v for this fuck yea
They did a redesign I say wait for that one since the 18v version of this one had a lot of problems with the lever mechanism
What problems and are you sure about a redesign? That mechanism looks very similar my XMT04Z.
@@ccbowers There was a problem with the lever where the casting was not right. Just look up the model dtm52z problems

Doesn't look different enough to the 18v to get me to buy it,,18v works great for me,. Other than the extortionate cost of the blades here in the UK

Thwack an 8Ah on the back of it and see how ergonomic that is 🤣
The first thing I'll be doing when I get it 😁
@@voicelesstoolreviews That'll build some crazy forearms over the 26 hours of runtime!
Yay
I hope it can take non starlock blades aswell
It can't
Why is this starlock isnt the other generic type better.
Starlock is better in theory
Starlock allows the use of much longer blades with higher moment of inertia that would destroy the pins on OIS tools, as well as more power for shorter blades.
@@nominalvelocity i never knew that
Yea, do not like that they are sticking with the same design. New Hikoki 18v is better. The Makita 18v would actually stall on you for no reason.
Do you have it and does it really? I'm debating on this or the hikoki for myself..
Great another multi tool no tradie will ever buy because it’s forcing starlock which you have take a loan out to buy one blade.
This is the most requested 40v tool ever, so I'm sure plenty of tradies will buy. Good tradies use good accessories, not cheap shot from Ali express.
