Most of my friends have the same feeling, they are not big fans of the deer stand but I do spend a good amount of time walking with them throughout the season.
I know some people are going to hate on this but sometimes a place like that is exactly what u need, Sunday evening after a hard windy weekend of -10 Fahrenheit Im sooo wishing I had that
Not a deer stand that’s a cabin but I like the concept of being able to drink until you pass out without falling out the tree or freezing. I could do without lights and tv and espresso machine lol but that’s pretty cool
Super cool set up! I have started hunting out of an 8x8 blind and spend the night routinely. I am actually going to put an addition on this year that sleeps 2! Thanks for sharing and good luck next season!
We built a few of these on our property in northern Michigan. Been there for over 20 years, still look great and nice to set in. We painted ours black on the inside and wore black clothing. That light bare plywood will silhouette you, and they will notice movement. We also hung draps over the windows and opened them as needed. But it looks awesome, and I know it's nice to set in. We actually considered them two men blinds. Being up in the air with that much area to cover, it's almost too much for one hunter. P.S. Unless you already have done it. We drilled a 1" hole in the bottom and ran a short piece of garden hose down the leg and mounted a large funnel inside for a urinal. 👍
Hey Clinton, now that's a deer stand. I used to hunt off the back deck of the house getting served food and coffee by my Sweetie Pie when we lived up in Pennsylvania. Then we moved to Florida, and I just can't get used to deer hunting in 84-degree temps battling mosquitos. I'd have to build an airconditioned deer stand just for starters. We still hit the deer woods on our lounge chairs and spend the days in the outdoors.
We had squirrel problems chewing all over. Flashing (brown) from the bottom & up the sides 24"s worked best. One side wall corner for some reason was attracting them so we ran a corner piece of flashing from top to bottom and no more chewing for a year now. Bees and flies but that was expected. Cheap USB Fans with a long power cord hanging on the ceilings proved to work the best in the mornings to keep the windows clear and they are super quiet and run forever with very little power draw. Good luck shoot straight!
Just a suggestion.... bolt some grab handles on the wall above the trap door so you can hang on when stepping down. Trap doors are stealthy but they scare the heck out of me when climbing down, especially on low light conditions. Awesome blind you built there and this is a nice video tour of it 👍🏻
She's a beauty! Thanks for sharring... Only problem is when the mail man or pizza delivery guy shows up while a buck of a lifetime is out front.. Enjoy 😉
I plan to do a little work to it this fall so I'll try to post a video. Most of my videos don't get many views, I was surprised when this one hit 30k in less than a year. I have to fix up the roof and I'm thinking about a new heater that takes less battery power.
@@ctwoods99 I’m going to have windows on all sides to shoot from, but yes, they will be closed until that time. I’m putting in a vent free propane heater.
I like to take a couple days out of the season to just sit in the stand and relax in comfort. I get plenty of walking in. I also enjoy building things so it was a fun project.
It's not my way of hunting but to each his own. And if you're bringing young kids out it makes sense. There's been many times over the years I wish I had a heater while out hunting.
I my younger days, I did alot of spot and stalk hunting, in the mountains. I did quite well at it. But now at 60 yrs old, I just can't do it anymore. That looks like a great place to hunt from!
The older I get, the more I enjoy my treehouses. My days of open ladder stand hunts are limited. Comfy hunting is for me. Lol Great setup, best I've seen. Has everything.
I agree, nothing like being comfortable and relaxing. And if I get luck the big one will walk past. My success rate is similar to my friends that hang from the side of the trees, I'm sure I'd have better luck with better cover but comfort has a price and I'm willing to pay it.

I have hooks on the outside just below a window that I hang my cooler on, just for the basics, like bacon, eggs, and some other odds and ends. Bacon gets seriously messy in a room this small so I have changed to grilled ham and cheese with an egg on top.
Very nice. I would make one suggestion, find an alternative to those nails and/or screws protruding from the walls. Those are a childhood injury just waiting to happen. Enjoy and stay safe 🙂

The bad comments sucked at first but they dont bother me anymore. Almost all of the bad comments come from people that dont post any videos, they are just looking for something to complain about.
This one is 5 ft by 8 ft. Unless you need the room I would recommend going 4x8. Going 5 foot wide added cost and made it a little difficult to see out the sides without moving to the edge to look out. I made an auto cad drawing of the frame as I was building it. I can send you the drawing if you're interested.
I had to jumper out the fan pressure switch, I still have the high temp cutout in place. I was able to turn the fan speed down to about 25% before the pressure switch would cut the main burner so jumping it probably wasn't necessary. I also wouldn't recommend doing this unless you're sitting next to your furnace while it's running, things can get very hot and you only have the high temp switch left for protection. The stand is 5x8 and the ceiling height is about 6ft 6in. I like the size but 4x8 would have saved a lot of money. money.
I've been having bear chew on the legs of my stand, they dont come around while I'm in it. I'll have to replace two of the legs, they are getting pretty thin. Ill have to show that in my next video.
I'm near public land so it's fun to listen to the guys using walkie talkies. You dont hear much anymore but before the days of texting it was nonstop conversation.
Now that I'm 60 this appeals to me. Cab of truck has been my blind (when I've been out) over last 12 years.
