He moves fast, doesnt always think fast. It's a while thing with him. He's his own worst enemy, his morals combined with his values severely limits barry. Hence we get "c'mon barry you're moving fast so think fast."

I think a lot of people forget that if he grabbed somebody going at about 50 percent of his top speed, his grab would literally kill them. Barry has to slow down so he doesnt kill anyone, thus the biggest weakness for the superhero with almost no weaknesses. Besides bees and ice cannons appearently.
@@f1ashman488 That doesn't make sense, even at his "slowest" speed grabbing someone would absolutely kill them (like how he grabs Diggle and runs him to another location from time to time). The reason they tend to give for this is that the speed force generates some sort force field that protects whatever or whoever Barry is interacting with...
Knowing that, the fact that Barry still has trouble with any villain is just bad writing (or in other words, the consequences of giving a character powers that are beyond broken).
@@CarlosCanal580 within the same writing, Captain Cold always gave Flash a rough time. These powers aren't overpowered, as super speed isn't even overpowered. Flash beat a supposed older and faster version of himself within this same writing. Overpowered, no. Terrible writing, yes. And his "slowest" speed seen on TV is 200 mph. A person can survive that speed, but it would hurt like hell. We have cars that go that fast with people who drive them. The Flash isn't without faults either, yet somehow can break every limit set in front of him. Nothing within either Marvel or DC can be considered underpowered or overpowered as there is always a stronger power that's followed by a bigger weakness. Without speed, Barry Allen is just Barry Allen. Around Kryptonite, Clark Kent stays Clark Kent. Without money, Bruce Wayne is Bruce Wayne. There was a lot of bad writing for any superhero or villain if that's your idea of bad writing. The word "power" has comepletely lost it's meaning, especially overpowered and underpowered. It's not like they're magic users. They all have different powers. We can only judge someone's powers if there is another person with the same powers. Hence why there are multiple speedsters. Why there is Supergirl and other Kryptonians. Why there is Catwoman and Batwoman and Robin and Nightwing. There are chances to judge powers, and at the same time, we are talking about comics and fiction. Should we really care about biology when there's a sentiment that makes the character feel more human, or should we just completely make every single superhero and villain considered as inhuman? The point of writing about these heroes was to inspire people yet we still nitpick about it. I just made the point that Barry refuses to kill people. He despises that. If that has to work around the writing to keep his humanity intact, so be it.
Barry can run at the speed of light stopping everything around him completely but a lot of the times can't run fast enough to catch a bullet or capture someone trying to wipe out everyone's mind.
They mess with his speed too damn much.
It takes alot of energy to throw a lightning its not something you can do twice in a row let alone 15 times.

Season 4 Barry: IM FAST AF BOI.
Basically Barry is always as fast as the show needs him to be, his speed evolution makes no sense in any way.
Well in season 4 we see why he got so much faster when barry went inside the speed force to take the sphere there was like 100 lightning bolts and 1 lightning bolt made barry fast in season 1 which means he was hit by lightning thousands of times in the speed force

I am sry but there is something definitely wrong here because I looked it up and the speed of light is 186000 miles per hour. I think when he looked it up he saw the m and figured it standed for miles but it doesn’t, it stands for meters. Idk why Wikipedia would put meters instead of miles.

The funniest parts of the episode is where characters run at flash speed in flashtime. Like while already in flashtime, he tells Jesse to go to earth 3, she then speeds away in a flash. Does that mean she was running at double 99.99999999999999982775% the speed of light? I think it would have been funnier just to watch flash just running like a regular guy through a frozen city :P

Honestly, I think the lightning strike just severely damaged his brain so he always forgets how fast he actually is and he also lacks object permeance so if something(like a villain) leaves his field of view he just forgets about them. So therefore whenever a villain leaves he can’t chase after them.

Jessie was right when she said that they wouldn't be able to evacuate the whole city. She got so exhausted just by being in Flastime that she had to leave. Jay, being the oldest, almost collapsed and we see Barry barely holding it together. And we're talking about a few minutes in Flashtime, with the limited energy a speedster has, running around, without replenishing it. Evacuate the entire Central City? They would evaporate like Trajectory.

In the comics he evacuated an entire city from a nuke in like 0.00001 seconds or something like that.

Yeah but if they make Barry as fast as he’s supposed to be like outrunning a nuke which is almost as fast as light speed when time stops at light speed but this is a show so they ahve to make it so that if flash was that fast he would be able to beat everyone and there wouldn’t be a show so they have to make flash seem fast but if he was too fast as shown in this episode they’re wouldn’t be no show cause there’ll be no stopping him basically so the writers didn’t write their science good enough it wasn’t backed up and doesn’t make sense.

I always hate it when a villain runs out of a building like 10 seconds before Barry, then Barry stops at the door and says, "guys I lost him." Just run around the entire block a few times.
Also, we often get ultimatum scenes like this:
Barry runs up to a crime in progress:
Barry: Hey, put the gun down.
Villain: It's either me all these people in a burning building.
Barry: Oh no. Guys what do I do?
Team Flash: Take out the fire and save the people.
Villain escapes, Barry does what he should have known to do without asking team flash for help.
*What should have happened: Barry knocks out the villain, treat him as one of the people who need saving and save everyone. Then hand over the bad guy to the police.
But, if he did that we wouldn't have an episode.
ROMANTRA Ik exactly it pisses me off. It’s like wtf makes no sense. You’re a speedster and can run faster than people around you can process. Season 4 for example all Barry had to do during his encounter with Devoe is go into Flashtime where everything that’s not connected to the Speedforce stops moving. All Barry had to do was defeat Devoe while in Flashtime or put Meta cuffs on him. And boom end of season.

The nuke episode was probably the most stressful moment of the whole show
Brrrruuuuh. This man can practically take in 7 minutes of TIME BEING FROZEN of information, and being able to STILL USE super speed....... but somehow can’t see a Normal speed Gorillas punch..( grod) or SEE and predict this new guys movements lol. Like when he pressed the button on the chair..
In reality, Barry would’ve seen her grab the detonator, and press the button all in slow motion and could’ve stopped her but uh....... we can just ignore that. Great episode
I think that is just kind of explained away via "power ignition". If their powers were active all the time, they would see everything in "flashtime". Minutes would be days or years, depending on their max power. Once they activate their powers, they enter flashtime and choose to go however much faster. This is why Running has always been a serene thing for speedsters, as all new speedsters explain running as calming as they first experience Flashtime. My theory based on years of reading comics but only recently reading flash comics.

In Barry’s defense if you all remember he started saying his “I am the fastest man alive” speech from episode 1 and he was clearly speaking in the past tense so that tells me he’s retelling this story to us the audience ... which means whatever future he’s telling this to us from in that future he is The Fastest Man Alive ‼️😅

Literally in like season 1 barry had this entire confession to iris while moving in flashtime and he even walked around her and stuff and she didn't even so much as see his lightning moving. Pretty sure that one scene portrayed him as being faster than he currently is on the show because time didn't pass at all. But you know, normal people can totally see him running down the street and captain cold can totally blast him with his cold gun. No problem.

The logic of Barry's speed is make it slower than last season but then end the season with it being even faster
Honestly in this season Barry has been different, ever since he came out of the speed force he's been stronger, faster, and seems to be more "zen", more at peace with himself and his past.
Considering he spent six months literally being juiced up by the Speed Force, I didn't expect any less.

Well yes, but we don't even know how long he spent in "Speed Force" perception kind of time because Barry doesn't remember. We just know he was there for the half a year it took between him entering and him being rescued. The rest would be just speculation unless Barry recovers his memories and tells us how long exactly he felt it was (likely centuries if Savitar's words are to be believed).
But something will come of those weird words he was spewing, and those numbers. Remember that Harry was doing it too when he was losing his mind. There's something to that or they wouldn't keep bringing it up. Probably has something to do with his daughter and whatever arc we'll get in season 5.
This is suppose to be wally's story, but I guess they just did this for the show.

I just watched this episode, remember how Cisco tried to “breach” the nuke to a dead earth “but there is not enough time to open a breach”. ¿Then how did Jesse bring Jay Garrick without a breach? Or did the writers mess up?
This is super late but this is because Cisco isn’t a speedster but Jesse is so she had time to make a breach because her speed and stuff
Its kinda funny cause he could be like mach 800,000+ But By The End Of The Season He Could Only Be Mach 64 Because The Writers Only Need Him To Be Fast Enough For That Episode Lol
he means how barrys speed isnt constant...if he fast enough to catch a bullet and Fast enough to have that much time to walk around and figure out a way to stop a bomb then why is he so slow that people can escape him? he catches grenade shrapnel but isnt fast enough to save someone and still catch the bad guy like in the season that just passed when the one villian made someone fly high in the air and then fall.. he should have been about to run up and back down saving the person and catching the villian with ease but since they dont present the speed of barry right at all its all just boring and annoying.

Actually when you hit the speed of light time stops relative to an OBSERVER. That is what Tyson was implying. Time still passes the same for you no matter how fast you travel, but when you hit the speed of light, relative to you, you would be infinitely far into the future. So if Barry was travelling at the speed of light he would be infinitely far into the future so he wouldn’t be able to save everyone when that event has passed already. Also, you got the formula wrong. The time Barry experiences should be t and t’ would be the time experienced for someone else.

Barry isn't in flashtime the entire episode, so you can't compare how long it took in the episode to how long the show says in the beginning. There are also a few cuts while he is in flashtime, so just timing everything wouldn't be accurate.
Edit: The mistake actually didn't matter because doing the calculations with the right numbers still rounds to the same speed.

It is possible for Barry to be FTL, in the same (or earlier) episode, he was training to run through a breach, which closes in 3 picoseconds, which is thousands of times faster than light.
