So, I am not using cloudflare, as I have a custom domain and a cPanel. I do exactly everything done here, and I still get "Can't Connect to Server." I have contacted my Minecraft Host, and see if they can help. I have it set as this A: minecraft.mydomain - 3600 - IN - A - IP ADDRESS SRV: mc.mydomain - 3600 - IN - SRV - 0 - 0 - PORT# - minecraft.mydomain My cPanel is setup completely different from Cloudflare it looks, but essentially it still should have worked. To make sure it was up, I have the IP address server below the custom domain server to make sure the server was still running.
i use hostgator cpanel and I cant add a protocol to my srv record. I believe thats why when i try to connect it goes straight to unkown host. Might also just be a matter of waiting for the dns records to propogate. Any ideas? my ttl on both A record and SRV records is 14400 if that matters. Also, I used 25565 for the port on my srv record. thats the only port that skynode provides me. Do i need to ask them to provide another port?

But when the server was deleted aster 1hour of inactive users and i turned the server back on, the port was changed and Minecraft wasn't connecting to the server. Please help fix this issue as well. Do I need to update the port each time on Cloudflare as I resume my server?
Every time your server expires and becomes inactive and then you 'resume' the port and IP will change. The only way to keep it the same is to not let your server become inactive. Our paid solutions would be the only way to have this feasible.

@@Serverprohosting no no. you do not understand me. I added an "A" record to mc.domain.com 123.123.123.123 (ip). after that I added the "SRV" record and port (cloudflare informs that this record can show your real server ip, it will not be behind the proxy)
Make sure your A record has the orange cloud. The SRV record will show that it exposes the origin IP. But since the origin IP is proxied, the IP that's being exposed is the cloudflare proxy IP
Hey Server.pro, I followed this tutorial and it worked! Then a week or so later the domain stopped working, when I go onto CloudFlare it says its online and when I go on my register it says I have the domain still. Nothing has changed what I can think of, any suggestions?

Cloudflare (on the free tier) doesn’t work with Minecraft since it doesn’t proxy non-HTTP/HTTPS traffic. If you want to use Minecraft, you’ll need a pro/business account

Then find the option "allow-cheats=false" and change it to "allow-cheats=true". Then save the file and restart the server. Once you have done that, please make sure you are OP, by typing "op USERNAME" in the console. Ensure you're online when typing this command.

unknown host means that the ip adress you entered doesn't ecsits but you probs figured it out already since it was a year ago :/
