Been shipfitting a couple years and on my free time lately at work been practicing fluxcore, i can weld horizontal or flat all day long and it will look amazing.. soon as i start going vertical it looks like crap.. i feel like when i watch the puddle i can see the wire digging into the metal VS forming a puddle, it trips me out and makes me think im burning through, but in reality, i never do burn through though, if i could just get verts down i can switch from fitter to welder and same alot of stress on my body!!

Yeah vert welds let you see alot more of the puddle, and it really gets in your way in the beginning. Because it's still all about smooth tempo and focusing on the sides. But vert is great practice, you get the hang of it and the rest comes naturally

Noticed your head is pointing up instead of down (as others have suggested on other videos).
    Can you comment on that?

trying to get an understanding of the wire angle and puddle action for flux core vertical welding... your camera from the side and a lot closer would help

Shouldn’t you let cool down before you start chipping away while it’s cherry hot? They’d run your ass off a job fast for scaring up the weld.

Just watched this and can I say that is not right at all. Your running stringer beads my guy. That looks like ass. You have to weave the bead on a cap. That's why it's called a cap. Not a multicap

I agree, I can’t stand when people run stringers as a “cap”. Learn to weave or go be a plumber.
