- This is a post game clip from 1998 with some legendary Canadian hockey announcers.
The clip starts with Ron McLean introducing the unbeatable combo of Bob Cole and Harry Neale. Still miss these two calling the games together but it's awesome that after all these years you can still hear Cole over the airwaves.
Next they cut to Dick Irvin Jr. and Patrick Flatley. Irvin is retired now but always did the Montreal games in those days. Pat Flatley is a former for the New York Islanders but I don't really remember him on HNIC very often.
Finally they cut to the late Don Wittman along with coach Marc Crawford for the west coast game.
20 years ago, and now its Bob Cole's last season :(
Wish he ended it in Vegas.
This was Dick Irvin's last season as an announcer for HNIC. Incidentally, later that season, Marc Crawford would become the coach for the Vancouver Canucks, replacing Mike Keenan.
crazy eh! crawford won stanley up 2 years earlier and then a broadcaster
Bobby Cole and Dick Irvin Jr... Missing Ed Whalen... fucking beauty :)
Do you happen to have the intro to Molson Leaf Hockey from 1998-99 on TSN?
Horses at full gallop.
All good but Bob Cole is the best .
He was like either a Kath Soucie or Tress MacNeille. Depends on who had the big role. The other had Harry Neale.
