I love the phrase digital minimalism. I definitely need a break from all my devices. It looks like you are reading some good books Ange. Always love seeing your lovely face appear in my sub feed ❤😘❤️
Hi Ange , It is lovely to see you here 😊. What an interesting selection of books ! I just learned about Garbaugust and am taking part in the group read "Valley of the Dolls" by Jacqueline Susann. I am enjoying it . I love the point you made about Shirley Jackson. Many times, she does leave things to our imaginations, which can conjure things very frightening. Ange , Alice was a big part of the Book Tube Community. I am so sorry for your loss. I think it's a wonderful legacy to Alice to keep the FOMO Book Club going. Again , happy to see your face posting again. XXOO
Thank you. I know the booktube community are missing Alice, big hug to you too. I have Valley of the Dolls on my tbr. Wish I knew it was the group read. I am out of the loop a bit. Take care 🤗
@anges_book_chatter I only found out about Valley of the Dolls by accident. I just found out that Garbaugust existed. I saw a group was reading it, so I joined. I am behind. I wish I knew it was on your TBR. XX
Love seeing your lovely face on here ❤❤ I didn’t feel strong enough to read unsheltered yet but will do soon. The booktube community is the best and I’m grateful for my friends ❤️❤️
I like your comment on Shirley Jackson. Her short stories can be very disturbing. I always feel very uneasy reading them. Glad to hear you are getting into Unsheltered. Possibly my favourite BK.Thank you.
@@janeduffield4801 I have listened Unsheltered today. I am hooked. 70% done. Disturbing is a good word to describe reading Shirley Jackson. Take care. Sending love 🥰
Digital minimalism sounds healthy. I had no idea about this sort of scam, rather than financial ones. I am glad you are now able to read Unsheltered. I have had mixed experiences with Kingsolver. Some books I have loved and others that have felt preachy.
Some of it did come across as her opinion in the dialogue, but it was quite a long book, so I didn’t mind that as such. Looking forward to Demon Copperhead soon.
I am hoping to read James soon. It is a good idea to come off social media. Sometimes, it can be our worst enemy. Reading at our own pace as well, I sometimes put pressure on myself to read more than I can take in . It was great seeing you back. I like you are way behind watching booktube.
Thanks. We have all been there putting ourselves in a position to read more than we can actually do, especially when you have a channel. I am purposely slowing down. However, I have just made a list of books for Straya September 😂 Take care Bookish Friend 🤗
Alice was such a large presence on BookTube and is greatly missed. My thoughts are with you. I have read a few of the women’s prize nominees and loved the winner, Brotherless Night. I’ve got a few of the Booker nominees I’m interested in.
@@Michelelynnreads Thank you. I loved Brotherless Night. I was happy it won, it wasn’t be favourite of the list. My favourite is In Defence of the Act.
@@anges_book_chatter I haven’t read Deference. At the time the long list was announced, I don’t think it had come out in the US where I live. I’ve heard good things and will keep it on my radar!
Good to see you, Ange and hear your thoughts on Keanu Reeves is not in love with you. I’m glad I read that and like you I think it will send me down some rabbit holes. Had no idea that the book would be written in such a comedic vein to start with and that got a bit tired for me, but when she started delving into it properly, it was much more interesting. Loving the digital minimalism I think I need to delete the BBC News app off my phone as I found that I keep going to it in the morning and that is really doom scrolling! I need to join you for the Gunny Rose ! I have the first Lily Bard book and one or two Harper Connolly books so maybe I’ll join you a bit earlier ? Do you have a discord invite ? So glad to have you back on here in your joyful reading space!

@@CharlieBrookReads Thank you my lovely. It is really helped to be away from all the apps, well unless they have to do with books and reading 😉
