So many of those old rock bands should hang it up especially when you have no originals in the lineup nor do you have any of the second best lineup it's just a tribute band at that point
If you only have one member left and they were not the important ones , if they have not done any new music for decades and the current line up is basically just a cover band , if they just can't do it anymore , sound awful .., if the love is gone and just going through the numbers for a cash grab .., PLEASE QUIT !!!!!!!!
I saw Foreigner in concert several years ago with Mick Jones still at the helm. I wasn’t expecting much but the whole band KICKED ASS! They were very good…would’ve been better with Lou Graham on vocals but we know about the split. Not disappointed at all!
I support both the current Steve Howe-lead Yes and Jon & The Band Geeks. Both have given us great new material with "Mirror to the Sky" & "True", respectively, which gives both more legitimacy as neither is now living only off the old Yes material. Far too many people in the Yes fan forums think you have to pledge loyalty to one side or the other. You don't. It is possible to enjoy both.
REO Speedwagon....oh, that's right. The band name is done. Now it's Kevin Cronin and the current REO touring band supporting his solo tour doing ZERO solo material most likely. Instead, singing REO songs. Mind blowing. Retire already. And ZERO original members left. Foreigner, without Mick Jones, yes, retire. ZERO original members left. Instead, these guys are just promoting the brand. Molly Hatchet pretty much same thing without ZERO original Members. The Band Yes I would say no to that because Yes has always been a transient band with people constantly moving in and out of the band for their entire career. I'm very torn on bands still going out on tour without any Original Members left. The essence of the band is gone when that happens. At some point, you just need to retire and call it a day. There are plenty of great bands in these genre's putting out music today but the issue is that when classic rock bands from the 60's & 70's were on the scene they received plenty of airplay on the radio and promotion from their record label. That's all changed today and you just won't see that ever happen again which is sad. The current state of popular music is horrible and will never measure up to the great bands of the 60's, 70's & 80's. Auto-tuned and pitch control is running amok but then again Don Henley loves to mime his songs in concert as he's recently done this year. That should tell him something right there...Time To Retire!
Phil mogg always had some interesting lyrics directed towards other artists UFO s song ain't no baby was a shot at a record company geek who wanted them to be like the babys
Not really when do back then when there was a lineup change it wasn't that hard to find out about it there's still plenty of print media to find out about that stuff
One or two more things….sorry!: 1) If most of today’s rock/pop music was any good we might have something to complain about! 2). Always been a big Yes fan. They should have been put in the Hall of Fame way earlier than they did. Glad that Geddy and Alex from Rush were there to present them. Getting of the soapbox now!
The same thing happened with Twisted Sister. In 1982, they put out "Under The Blade," and now, that Album has sold at least 2,000,000 here in the U. S. 1983 gave us their second Album, called "You Can't Stop Rock 'N' Roll, which, at the very least, scored Gold. 1984, though, was a Banner Year for Twisted Sister. Their Album, called "Stay Hungry," sold at least 4,000,000 Copies, here in the U. S. Then came 1985......and Man, oh, man! Did these guys fall flat on their faces, or what?!? They released "Come Out And Play," and the Album has a load of trouble, even going Gold here in the U. S! Then came 1987. Twisted Sister dumped their garish look, for more of a "Pop-Metal look and feel.....and it tanked! Big-time!!!!! It dropped completely off the Billboard Hot 200, within just a few months. It only sold around 100,000 copies. On October 12, 1987, Twisted Sister disbanded.
Bands need the FREEDOM to make up their minds for themselves, as to whether they stay, or go. There should be no need for any outside person or group, to make up a Band's Mind up for it!

Will buying the records are okay especially the old ones but to keep going when there's no originals in the band is just crazy
Grand Funk Railroad without Mark Farner is nothing but a cover band
A/C/DC. should have been over 3 years ago!!!!!
0:00 - Intro
2:59 - Molly Hatchet
4:01 - Foreigner
5:39 - Yes

That's good to hear. Foreigner was great when I saw them in '78 and I also saw Lou Gramm solo in the early 2000's.

Agreed!

Ever hear the UFO song "back it up and go" (1978)? According to rumor it was about Zeppelin...!
Interesting, I'll check it out!
"Pack It Up & Go".🥨

Molly Hatchet is playing Newark in a couple months. I have zero interest. Also, no Lou Gramm = no Foreigner.

Agreed. They really dragged their feet on putting Rush in there also.
Lynyrd Skynrd also has zero original members. Still touring.
They almost made my list.
Rickey Medlocke drummed for them in the early days. And JVZ is legit as RVZ’ brother. But I agree, they are just a tribute band now.
All the cringe bands were out of gas the minute they made their first million and no longer had any material to whine about.

Blood Sweat and Tears?
It's too bad that David Clayton-Thomas doesn't still perform with them.
Bon Jovi, def leppard
For sure. Aging is definitely tough on the voice.
I quit following yes after 1979
As long as people buy tickets, go for it.
