@@Whoremembersusa Hello there again, it's me, the guy who keeps pestering you about other bands that never got the recognition they deserved, especially in this day and age, but I have two to mention, and one of them doesn't necessarily come from the 70's, but the first one does!!! But I think that someone should start making a huge bigger deal out of the original lineup of the band called Sweet!!! If anyone really listens, the original lineup really put out some very hard rocking albums for the time period they came from!!! And I think they were a little bit ahead of their time with the sound they had, and they're also one of the very first Glam rock bands, of not the first, because I know that David Bowie came around somewhere during the same time period very closely??? And the other band that I really need to mention, even though they're definitely not 70's band, but they are somewhat metal, but definitely damn great rock music, and absolutely killer guitar, and huge chemistry, and just one hell of a very phenomenal band, but they're called Saigon Kick!!! If you've never heard of them, or their killer styles of rock music, please definitely check them out ASAP!!! The one hit single they had that most might recognize is called "Love Is On The Way"!!! Blue Oyster Cult, Ten Years After, April Wine and Wishbone Ash were all favorites of mine in the early 70's. Blue Oyster Cult especially. Their first 4 albums were absolutely incredible.
Riot, a NYC band formed in the late 70s deserves a prominent place on this list. Their front man Guy Speranza's incredible voice and Mark Reale's blistering guitar work on the album Fire Down Under should have earned them the brass ring. But because they refused to bend to the studio demands regarding fundamental changes to their music, they were sidelined and had their contract sat on.
I saw riot open for a concert in July 1980 called "Oregon jam" in my hometown of Salem it was them blue oyster colt Molly, hatchet and Black Sabbath. I was 19 years old. It was a great show BOC Rode a motorcycle out on stage during one of their songs.
To all these bands I would add two others too underrated and never enough remembered for their influence in the hard rock/heavy metal field: Riot (between the 70s and 80s were the founding fathers of speed metal) and the Virgin Steele (in the 90s/early 2000s the true zenith of the epic metal)
Not a huge thrash or metal fan, but you had some great bands on this list. The first 3 or 4 albums from Blue Cheer are phenomenal. Little Feat is also excellent. I’m a huge fan of Ten Yeas After and Alvin Lee was one of the best guitarists ever. The first concert I ever went to was in 1972/73. The opening band was Blue Oyster Cult and the Headliner was Wishbone Ash. To this day one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to.
I met Myles Goodwin in a Montreal nightclub a few decades ago and he was a very soft spoken nice guy. I asked him what some of his favorite bands were and he told me that he listened to Jazz and Classical music!
Absolutely! Budgie was a powerhouse trio with a unique sound, blending heavy riffs and melodic elements that influenced countless bands, including Metallica. Definitely one of the most underrated bands of their time!
I was into April Wine in my high school years. I actually own Harder Faster on cassette. I was a big BOC fan too. one of their tracks was on the soundtrack and in the animated movie "Heavy Metal" circa 1980. Exodus great band, and Toxic Waltz, was a great tune. I had "Anvil's" Metal on Metal LP, till it got stolen.
"HELL YEAH"!!! I completely agree with you on this one, and so is every UFO album very damn good killer stuff!!! Try checking out their album The Wild, Willing And The Innocent!!! And all of their catalog of music, but the one I just mentioned is very much a huge "ROCKER"!!! Ernie Wilber 🤘👹🤘✌️
"Lights Out" is a timeless classic! UFO really delivered with that album-phenomenal vocals and unforgettable guitar work by Michael Schenker. A solid pick for any rock collection! 🔥
Great choice! "Love to Love" is definitely one of the standout tracks from Lights Out. Ernie Wilber's enthusiasm definitely resonates with that classic sound!
Y&T is one I was thinking about, they were better than most of the groups out of the eighties LA scene. Sadly they didn’t get any push from record labels because they didn’t have a pretty big front man
Y&T were definitely ahead of their time and much more talented than many from the '80s L.A. scene. It’s unfortunate they didn’t get the record label push they deserved, especially without the typical "pretty boy" frontman.
Thanks for feedback. The Scorpions are metal legends, alongside Maiden, Priest, and Sabbath, with iconic albums like Lovedrive and Blackout. Their influence shaped heavy metal from the '70s onward.
Two seventies groups that were criminally overlooked are Angel and Sweet. Angel had the look song writing and elite musicianship, great Prog and Hard Rock. Sweet had some great Hard Rock albums and influenced many eighties groups
Silver Apples takes me back. Can! I just saw Jesus Lizard last week. Original lineup, first album in 25 years, still excellent live! I'd add Captain Beefheart.

UFO is in my top 5 list, I have seen them close to 10 times dating back to 1981... Crazy good... Also, my No. 1 (Original Molly Hatchet) deserves a ton more respect...
I'd add the chameleons (aka chameleons UK). swamp thing, dont fall, monkeyland). voivod, cop shoot cop, quicksand, accept (look beyond balls to the wall), the cramps, the damned, L7, sonic youth, killing joke, concrete blond (someone also said them), the specials, marillion...
Awesome list I always rep Orange Nine Millimeter to anyone who likes Quicksand ,Fugazi,or Deftones. You prolly got that covered tho. Have a banging Christmas .
What about rare bird they hardly ever get mentioned and they are one of the most talented progressive rock bands in the world. Not only that but they just don't have one or two good songs almost their entire catalog are great😮 nectar focus and gypsy are other examples of great progressive rock groups that get little to no recognition😢
Rare Bird, Nektar, Focus, and Gypsy are all underrated gems of progressive rock. Their musicianship and deep catalogs prove they deserve far more recognition!
Should have just said ode to loser punk bands. The few rock bands you have weren't losers. 10 years after were incredible $ since when was Cinderella losers
As far as I'm concerned, there's thousands of killer bands that deserve much more attention and recognition than they've gotten over the years!!! But I do agree with the ones you've mentioned here too!!! But one of those I just said something about to you the last time you did something like this is Head East!!! And I have so fucking many more I could mention, but I won't as it would take to much time for the amount of people who would pay attention to it, and really give a fuck!!! Ernie Wilber 🤘👹🤘🤘

Ernie 🤘👹🤘✌️
Budgie's music, especially their unique bass-heavy style and energetic performances, earned them a dedicated cult following. Definitely a band worth remembering!
@@Whoremembersusa Your choices are all commendable. I always felt Nazareth was so under-rated with Dan Mccafrey raspy vocals and Manny Charlton blistering guitar. WIth the exception of "Love Hurts" and "Hair of the Dog" they got almost no radio play.
why? what would it matter or change? and how would you like more respect to be given? in what form? way too much attention is given to musicians. what are we supposed to bow down to someone because he/she can play a fukin guitar or beat the drums or sing. so fukin what.
It’s true that opinions on bands like Cinderella can vary widely! Some loved their style, while others felt they didn't quite stand out in the rock scene. Everyone has their personal favorites!
@Whoremembersusa - that they're far removed from my personal favorites doesn't mean they shouldn't be on the list, but what was unique or influential about them? What modern musicians say that Cinderella inspired them?

Deep Purple is an absolute powerhouse of a band, and you're right-they often don't get the respect they deserve in the U.S❤️
@@ponytrekker8996 Totally agree with you on this one, and Deep Purple are huge "LEGENDS", no matter what lineup is mentioned, but especially the original lineup!!!
@ yes Mark2 the definitive lineup.
You missed Diamondhead
You're right! Diamond Head is a legendary band that definitely deserves more recognition. Thanks for bringing them up!
As soon as he referred to GnR as metal I had to move along
Thnaks for feedback
Play part of the song it helps to remember it
Yep. Thanks for sharing 🎶
Where's Shooting Star?
Great band! They definitely deserve more recognition.
Concrete Blond?
Thanks for sharing. Hits like "Joey" and "God is a Bullet" made them iconic in the alternative rock scene of the late '80s and '90s.
UFO is in my top 5 list, I have seen them close to 10 times dating back to 1981... Crazy good... Also, my No. 1 (Original Molly Hatchet) deserves a ton more respect...
Thanks for feedback! Both bands made huge contributions to rock and are still beloved by their fans!
Kings X
YEP. Thanks for sharing :)
Great list of bands! It's amazing how many underappreciated acts are out there :(
Awesome list I always rep Orange Nine Millimeter to anyone who likes Quicksand ,Fugazi,or Deftones. You prolly got that covered tho. Have a banging Christmas .
Hope you have an awesome Christmas too! 🎄
Every band leaves its mark in its own way! 🎸
Yeah that’s it, you have no idea what you’re talking about. I don’t know what you watched.
The world would definitely be a lot more rock ‘n roll if more people paid attention to these hidden gems. 🤘
@@peteroehl673 Who the hell are you talking about??? I sure hope that you're not referring to me??? Because I know exactly what I watched, and I was just trying to add some other bands that were extremely damn good ones, but they also never got the "PROP'S" they deserve, but were just kinda noticed somewhat for a bit, and then totally forgotten about!!! Ernie 🤘👹🤘✌️
mahogany rush
Their style blends intense solos, powerful riffs, and a mix of jazz influences, making them a hidden gem in the classic rock scene.
Leonard Sky Nerd? LOLOLOL!!!!
:) Thanks for feedback
You forgot Budgies.
Budgie's music, especially their unique bass-heavy style and energetic performances, earned them a dedicated cult following. Definitely a band worth remembering!
One.
Stay tuned of our next video! Thanks you
Naked Raygun???????🤣
*sees band*
Phew!
Naked Raygun-punk legends! Glad to see you're relieved they made the cut! 🔥
The Effigies from the same scene were great. Check the tunes "bodybag" and " security".
"Muscle Beach is now Pork Chop Hill."
Where is Y&T
Yep. While they never quite reached mainstream superstardom, they gained a loyal fanbase and influenced many bands in the rock and metal scenes.
@Whoremembersusa They are a fantastic band. Especially live.
:) Thanks for sharing
Where's Ween?
Ween is definitely a band that deserves recognition. Their ability to experiment and push boundaries has made them a cult favorite. 🤘
Mother Superior
:) Thanks for sharing
NAZARETH!!!
Thanks for shring. They made a huge impact in the '70s and '80s :)
:) It's a shame they didn't get more radio play beyond Love Hurts and Hair of the Dog.
Stranglers
Yep. Their bold style and lyrics made them a standout in the UK punk scene.
Good topic for an AI factory. Personally,, I block all AI factory videos.
Thanks for feedback. All the best to you
why? what would it matter or change? and how would you like more respect to be given? in what form? way too much attention is given to musicians. what are we supposed to bow down to someone because he/she can play a fukin guitar or beat the drums or sing. so fukin what.
It's a fair point. Respect doesn't mean idolizing but appreciating how it enriches our lives. Everyone's role in society matters in different ways! 🎶
Umm, Cinderella was HUGE and completely sucked, making their inclusion on this list twice as baffling.
Cinderella's influence might not be as obvious in today's mainstream, but they were a pivotal part of the late '80s glam metal scene. Merry christmas

Living colour should not be on this list
Not everyone agrees on every band. Living Colour had a unique style, but I understand why they might not fit with some preferences. Thanks for shring
@@Whoremembersusa Ha, no problem. RUclips comments is where I practice being a knowitall jerkazoid. Thanks for being a good sport about it ;)
:) All the best to you
AI voiceovers are ruining RUclips. It's the best way to get me to not watch your video.
Thanks for feedback. We will put more effort into the upcoming videos
hey robot A I dude. Anvil is a fucking joke. I stopped watching after that.
Thank you for your feedback. We will put more effort into the upcoming videos.
