  • There's a lot of time on the ground in this video-takeoff starts at 25:27, if you want to skip to the exciting part.
My first flight aboard Delta's new A220 was an eventful one, headed out to San Francisco in the first morning departures rush at the tail end of a heavy snow storm. Having flown the CSeries/A220 once before on Swiss and really enjoyed it, I was excited when Delta announced their large order for the aircraft, and even more excited to learn Salt Lake City would be one of the first crew bases for the type. The cabin is spacious and comfortable, with nice, large windows, and it's very quiet and smooth in flight.
After getting settled into our snow-covered plane, we pushed back from our gate in the C concourse, started the engines, and made our way out to the deicing pad off the end of Runway 34L. After deicing-and, more importantly, clearing off my window so I could see outside better-we had to taxi out to the other end of the airport to Runway 34R, because 34L was closed for snow removal & deicing while we were getting deiced. After making the trek around the terminal buildings, we had to stop a couple of times to wait for traffic ahead of us, including about a 10 minute sit on the taxiway while the aircraft in front of us waited for its brakes to cool before taking off. While we were waiting, though, I got to watch a few departures of other aircraft, which helped to pass the time. After that, we were off, holding briefly for the aircraft taking off ahead of us before pulling onto the runway. With all of the snow and ice, the spool up to takeoff thrust was drawn out nice and long-it was about 15 seconds from idle thrust to brake release. Once airborne, we climbed like a rocket and immediately turned left over the cargo ramp to head West, quickly passing into the clouds. A couple of minutes after that, my window got covered in water, which created some really cool effects even though it made it hard to see outside, so I kept the camera rolling for a few minutes until we were above the clouds.
The weather was much nicer in San Francisco-check out the landing here: • Delta A220-100 Landing... . I was also on this flight with my uncle, who filmed from the other side of the aircraft: • [FLIGHT TAKEOFF] Delta... .

this aircraft has Bombardier DNA. Only thing airbus is the name but you are right. Airbus planes make orgasmic hydraulic noises

Nah it's 25:28, ain't no way you leaving that gtf whine out of the takeoff. It's the only reason I watch a220 takeoffs, should be a crime to do so!
