Ever experience this, where you wake up and you are actually well rested, but you look at the clock and see it's very early so you might as well get one more hour of sleep. Then you wake up 3-4 hours later and now you are super tired despite all those extra hours...
Kitta12320 oversleeping or sleeping more than 6-8 hours makes you more tired because at that point your body stops rejuvenating itself or something like that according to this one study i read online. Also waking up in between sleep cycles causes you to be tired as well. Your body naturally wakes up at the end of the 3-4 sleep cycle but due to human schedules we usually disrupt one of these sleep cycles
I had a final exam at 8:30 am. Had been awake for the last 48hrs studying for said exam. Woke up at 2pm fell out of bed, had my legs half way into my trousers before I realised I had written the exam that morning, had come home and passed out into a mini coma.

Aeolus bruh that scenario is real shit. Happens to me at least once every week or once every 2 weeks. It sure is a rush going Mach 5 around the house getting ready and then driving Mach 6 to my destination.
@@idontbelieveinpenises1952 Use two alarms. If that doesn't work, use three and so on. Use separate devices if necessary. Also, go to sleep at the same hour and wake up at the same hour every day, regardless of what you have to do that day.
This is an old practice used by warbands before a raid. They take in a lot of water and wake up when they need to. Still valid today even if you don't have to kill anybody.
I got home from school once and took a nap. We go in at 7:20 AM to take an exam. I suddenly woke up, looked at the clock- 7:45. I halted out of bed, got dressed, threw my backpack on my back... and went out my room to brush my teeth. This all only to see my family having *dinner* at the table. 7:50 *PM* Fml.
I did basically the same thing. Fell asleep studying for my first exam at my university. Woke up at 11 for my 10 am got dressed and was about to run out of my apartment when I see my roommates look at me like I’m crazy. Then I notice it’s dark outside and it’s 11 pm
My momemt was fucking horrible Back during my junior year of high school we were like a week away from summer break but us juniors still had some finals to take and generally in high school i was a hard sleeper and nothing would wake me up except my brother shaking me out of bed. Well for some reason I woke up at 7:15 and school started at 7:30, and at this time my car was broken down and the bus has already passed so im freaking out. I throw on a new t shirt and leave my pajama pants on for the day and go inside to grab a can kf soda for lunch. I didnt know what to do so i jist started sprinting to school (I lived like 5 miles from school) Well wbile going down the road, i start calling my best friend trying to ask her to pick me up but no response... I then look at the clock... 1:25 am... In the middle of night... My dumb ass didnt even connect the dots that it was dark as fuck outside and i was already half way down my road when I relized it... I wanted to fucking die
I remember doing that a few times. I showered and had my clothes on would walk downstairs and wonder why my mom wasn't down there. Check the clock and its 3 am
I did that the first day of my last year of high school, I thought the clock said 6:30 and I got up the bed. Mom was not pleased to hear the shower at 3am. I stayed awake for the remaining 3 hours so I was early, but my old girl was grumpy for the rest of the day.
The one about waking up in a cold sweat because of a paper that's due, despite having graduated 5 years ago speaks to me. The same thing happened to me just this month, maybe... 2 and a half weeks ago, give or take a few days. I've been graduated since 2015. But it was the most real sense of panic I have had, and it lingered for like 3 days before I finally calmed down enough to realize I wasn't going to school still. I had to let the weekend end for it to sink in that I really was done school, and it wasn't just a weekend. I don't even live in the same city anymore.
I have dreams where I'm back in high school but can't remember any of the information in the classes and I wake up in a cold sweat with a feeling of utter dread... until higher functions kick in and I remember that no, I'm 25 years old and not going back to high school any time soon
I overslept and drove to work watching time more than the street. So I crashed. Got pulled out of my upside down car and brought to hospital. Please arrive late instead of never, everyone!
Freshman year, first finals week. Woke up at 8:45 for an 8 am Final. Mad rushed it to the building only to find no one there because it was like a 30 minute final. So did the walk of shame back to my dorm room. Emailed my teacher and said "fuck it better start my online final then." halfway through my online final my other teacher emails me and tells me i can take my final if i go to her office right at that moment. Look at my half finished online final which can't be paused... Mad Rushed through it, then went to her office and bombed 2 finals back to back.... It was a great Wednesday
9:59 I wouldn't pay that fine... I would have fought it in court if I had to (I know that's petty but it's ridiculous that you have to pay that fine when your body/brain literally didn't wake you up at the sound of the alarm)

In 6th grade i went to a different school from my brothers that started 2 hours later than their school. I usually woke up an hour after they left, but my alarm didn’t go off and I woke up at 10. When I went downstairs my dad saw me and went, “oh. I forgot about you” 😂
*Roll out of bed. Run to closet whilst stretching arms. Grab shirt and put that on while walking to dresser. Grab sweatpants/jeans. Go to take piss and after you piss, wash your hands but don’t dry them, use that water to smooth down you hair while you run downstairs. I overslept after I decided to take a nap early at 6pm because I just was tired. I woke up at 8:30 (school starts at 8:40) so I start getting ready as quick as possible and brushed my teeth got dressed and went to my parents bedroom to tell them I was late and they died laughing. It was a 2 hour nap.
I once fell asleep at around 6 something with the lights on and woke up the same day at 9:30PM with the lights off in my room and no one home. I thought I was and hour and a half late for school until I checked the date on the lock screen on my phone. This was recent too like a month ago
College. I wasn't the nice student. If I oversleep, I'd just lay in bed and not show up the entire day. So one day, I woke up 10 minutes later than I should, so morning me just seduced me into taking the day off again. So I succumbed went back to sleep. 20 minutes later, my brain just kinda popped a notification like: "By the way, I think we had to take an exam today. Just saying..." Let's just fast-forward the parts where I just ran with a mug of coffee in my hand outside, and dropped it in panic in the hallway when I just noticed it. And had to face the teacher with confused looks staring at me. Still passed the exam anyway. I still hate you, morning me. You're such a bitch. You'd sell my own soul just to hit the snooze button.
Oh, I will remember this while I'm alive. It was back in 2013. Being a big fan of Bon Jovi, I was very excited when they announced Europe tour that year. Got very expensive ticket to concert in Poland (which is different country from where I am, almost 2hours flight away, but it was closest concert to me at the time). Anyway, the morning I should have flight to Poland, I set like five alarms on my phone, but somehow managed to sleep over them all.. Woke up just 15 minutes before plane was leaving. I'm still crushed about this incident, and the fact that I was so stupid to miss the most important flight of my life so far...
The Meme King this summer they will be in Europe, already got tickets 👑🎶 learning from mistakes, booked hotel in nearest show city two days prior to the event. So I will definitely be there this time. 😊
Not sure if it counts but once, the night before work, I came home super drunk (it was a friends birthday and I hadn’t meant to drink as much as I did). I knew that I had to get up super early so in my drunken and idiotic state, I sprinted full pelt into my bedroom, tripping onto the bed and hitting my head on the steel bar of the headrest. Flash-forward two days; I wake up in the hospital. My colleague came to my apartment when I didn’t turn up for work and didn’t answer his calls. He saw that I had a massive gash on the side of my head and called for an ambulance. I woke up with what I thought was the worst hangover ever before realising I was in the hospital. Tl;dr I knocked myself out and slept in for two days.
One time I went to sleep and woke up, wasn’t sure if I actually slept because it felt like about 3 seconds of sleep and it was dark outside. It was the next day. I had either slept for 22hours or travelled through time. It was creepy and still is
I had a thing like that once. I was 4-6 years old, I think. I remember that my mom brought me to bed and I closed my eyes and three seconds later she's telling me to get up. I can swear that I closed my eyes for only three seconds and I told my mom that I didn't even fall asleep. She told me that it had been 7 hours. I still don't know how that could happen. I literally counted "one, two.." in my head and woke up to "three". WTF
Woah I had the same situation too! I slept at 12 at noon and I woke up at 4 in the morning. Welp, I guess almost 2 day of not sleeping can wrecked people.
I don't have any crazy stories of me oversleeping, but this did remind me of something. So, I was a band kid in high school, and once a week, I had to catch an early bus to school for practice. There were a grand total of three kids on that bus, but we were all pretty spread out, so it was a longish route. One morning, I was waiting by the highway for this bus, and it just never came. I wound up waiting for over an hour until the regular bus came. When my band teacher saw me, he asked why I had missed practice, and I told him. He said that the bus had shown up, but only the girl who got on after me was on it. He called the bus company, and it turned out that the driver had overslept, and just started her route at the point where she would have been if she hadn't overslept, skipping the first two out of three stops. She got in a lot of trouble for just leaving two kids standing at the side of the Trans Canada highway for an hour before dawn.
Overslept and hopped up and jumped in the car. Pulled out in front of someone 5 minutes down the road. I was still asleeep. Moral: Wake up first. Being late is okay. Getting into a wreck is not
@@drwhoscumrag no, it's more like I just get really sleepy at unpredictable intervals. There's more to it than that, but it's not a passing out thing. I can tell it's coming, and can usually fight it off, but without medication it takes constant effort and it's really hard

@@scottvelez3154 If you have a period of stress and lots of mental activity without sufficient sleep, the body adjusts itself into a state of survival, where it will be able to prioritize your tasks above basic needs like sleep and food etc. Then, when you finally break that mental state and let your body rest for good, it might go into a coma-like state to re balance itself as compensation for everything it has been neglecting the last days or weeks, when it bounces back it will most likely go over the top and your basic needs will be prioritized exponentially higher. It is not too uncommon in exam periods or periods leading up to the final of a long-term project etc. You can also compare it to living without specific types of food for a long time, and then when you finally start to eat those foods again your body is more likely to overdose itself because it's been in such an imbalance and doesn't know what "normal" is.
Worked hard an earned an A in a very rigorous Genetics class. Slept through my alarm and missed the final, instantly dropped me to a B-. From then on, I refused to go to bed before early morning exams. I’d sleep until 9pm the day before and just stay up and study until the test the next morning.
I once woke up, looked at the clock (a digital one), saw that it was only 15 past, and very leisurely made myself some breakfast, since I had plenty of time before having to go to work. After breakfast, I walk past the clock again and see that it's now a quarter till, so it's time to brush my teeth and get dressed for work. Then I look at the clock again, and notice that it was indeed a quarter till... But it was a quarter till 8, not a quarter till 7, and all of a sudden I'm now late for work -___-
last week I was really sick and spent the night at the ER. For some reason I didn’t feel tired at all. So I just stayed up the whole night til I crashed the second I got home and slept from 6am to 4pm. Then I turned nocturnal for a few days and just didn’t feel tired at all. I ended up staying up for over 40 hours and then I crashed again at 5pm the next day and woke up in the middle of the night at 5am. I woke up fully the same day at 5pm. It was like I had no sense of time for those few days...
Woke up. Realized that a show I was supposed to and wanted to attend was about to start, and asked why my mom hadn't woken me up like she was supposed to. Answer: "I didn't feel like going." Since then, I'm sticky about times and alarms because sometimes she just isn't.
Couple years back I had returned home between 3 to 5pm after my shift at work from a retail job. Was completely exhausted from the day and decided to get in a quick nap before I had dinner. Woke up to the sound of my alarm going off at 6 o'clock wondering "Uh, weird that its going off now I must've set it to the opposite time of day". Checked my phone to see if I had any messages only to see that it had 6am posted on its screen. Frantic and furious I rushed out of bed to get ready for work again which I had at 7am. So basically I'd managed to sleep for over 13 hours missing out on my entire yesterday afternoon, no dinner, and had to go right back to work which felt like I had just came back from. Was not happy about that in the least even with all the sleep I had, which I suppose my body needed more than I believed even though I figured I'd slept ok the night before.
i slept throught mine, cried, then ran to school and ended up getting the exam done in time since it was just an interview :-( but the stress was unbearablee
I had flu and the school nurse gave me a pill ( i went because headache) then went to my álgebra exam and fell asleep on my desk for almost half of the time allowed for the exam. After the test the teacher was peeved, asked if i was on medicación or what (in sarcasm) i told her yes, the nurse gave me X med before the class for a headache, she looked at me like WTF those things make everyone sleepy, why would they give you that before an exam.
So, in college not only did my professors told me a week in advance about my finals but one professor I asked the day before specifically what time and place for that exam. My exams where Monday....all three finals.... my boyfriend comes to spend the night that weekend. And behold, I slept through all three exams and 3 missed calls from classmates. I leaped from my bed and dragged my bf with me to my professors offices. Thank God they allowed me to make up the exams. They grilled me with very hard questions bout my projects and even tried to get my bf to join them.

(8th grade) intended to wake up at 6:00am to watch how it's made for a food project. Overslept, waking at 7:45 to a sister who thought I needed more sleep, panicking like crazy. I grabbed a tortilla from the fridge and sprinted to school with it, arriving in time for the pledge, only to be given 10 minutes prep time to present. I unrolled the tortilla and looked at it intently for 5 minutes. I was called to present to the class. I clasp the tortilla in my hands and confidently ad-libbed some bullshit about tortillas that was probably completely wrong, but my voice mixed with the fact I was a known A+ student covered my ass Got a 97% and told my sister to wake me on time from now on.
That story about the fire alarm reminds me of a personal story: It was the first semester as a college student, and I lucked out cause the school had just opened a brand new dorm building ( it was super nice, each room had four individual bedrooms, a common area connecting the bedrooms and the common area had a kitchen.) Anyway, as a prank, someone took a lighter to a sprinkler head in the hallway right outside of the room, I was in with three others. It was winter and we knew that we needed to evacuate according to the Dorm rules but neither one of us wanted to get soaked and stand out in the freezing cold for at least an hour cause, of course, the sprinkler head was tied to the fire alarm and the fire department was on the way. After mulling it over for ten minutes, I opened my window and kicked out the bug screen and we evacuated out that way. I knew I was going to get a fine for kicking out the screen ( While it is not listed exclusively, some tightass could see it as damaging campus property, and on a brand new building to boot) but I did not care as my Dorm-mates praised me for being a G ( they told me that if I did get a fine we would split it four ways) Anyway, the Fire department rolled up ( not a great response time, IMO) and I was questioned by the chief about my choice of Exit given the situation. I don't remember my exact words, but it was along the lines of " if it was a real fire, you can't be choosy about how you get out of the building". I ended up not getting fined, that glory went to the prankster, who was caught thanks to a security camera in the hall catching the whole thing. I only know that cause one of my dormmates was approached by the guy wanting to know where I was so he could try and get me to help pay for the fine. I do remember what I told my mate in response since we were Laughing our asses off at his misfortune. I told my mate, " No way in hell I'm helping him out, you can tell him this, you did the crime, you can pay the Fine since I would never have broken the screen otherwise." To which I fluttered my eyes at my mate putting on my best lil Mr. innocent face. To which we cracked up even harder till we were out of breath. We later recounted the conversation to our other dormmates Which started another fit of laughter. Just thought I'd share
I thought my very first GCSE exam was an afternoon exam. I get there and ask the receptionist why no one was in my class. Turns out the exam was a morning exam and I was 20 minutes late. Teachers tried to scare us by saying we weren’t allowed to take the exam if we were late so I had a mental breakdown. I found out it was just a scare tactic when they made a panic to try and stop me from freaking out lol. I ended up making the exam thankfully.
my proccess of thought when signing up for any class before 10am "should i do this?" "i hate waking up early and am not a morning person" "psh if 14-18 year old me could do it all of high school, why can't i?" *proceeds to be dead almost every time the class meets and regrets signing up for that time slot*
I work in a school and a couple years ago we had the last day of school on a Monday. I had gotten horribly sick over the weekend and gotten no sleep. I awoke to the sound of knocking on Monday morning. It was a police officer my principal had sent to check on me. Turns out they had tried to call me multiple times and they were so sure something was wrong I made my principal cry.
Once you get into college, your time schedule gets really messed up since you'll wake up at a different time every day. I had a class that started at 12, and i woke up at 11:55 without hearing my alarm, and i was already running outside until i realized it was actually only 10:55. Another time i had a class that started at 9 and i would normally set my alarm at 8:30, but one day i accidentally set it at 9.
I work night shift, on my first day I overslept by 2 hours and ended up getting to work 2 and a half hours late (I took a 5 minute shower and then drove 25 minutes) when I arrived the one supervisor spotted me and said, "bout fucking time you got here". I thought I was gonna get fired... thank fucking god he's a really cool dude, I got to work with him that night and talk about music and video games. 3 years later we are best friends and are basically inseparable

overslept for a first year english exam at 9am. woke up around 9:10. i originally planned to walk over since i lived on campus and it would be 5 minutes top, but seeing that i was already late i called an uber, went in my pajamas and just threw on some slippers, and ran downstairs. i told the uber driver i slept in for an exam and we get there in like a minute, but i had never been in this building before and was lost. so i finally get to the exam room fifteen minutes into the exam, push the double doors wide open where like 100 students currently writing their exam all look up at me in my pjs panting. i look to the prof who just nods and gestures to take a seat. still failed the exam anyway :/
My best and worst overslept moments: Slept through school (didn't care about missing school, just about getting in trouble with mum) go downstairs and start apologizing for missing school. She just goes "They canceled school today, pipe burst. I shut your alarm off and let you sleep. There's breakfast on the stove." Worst: Stayed up late studying for my biology and English finals in my sophomore year of high school. Exam days are half days, 2 exams for 2ish hours. I need to pass the bio exam to pass the class. School starts at 7:25. I wake up and look at the clock: 7:15 I walked to school everyday my mom works early. I had to run it. My school is a mile and a half away. I made it because they started exams at 7:35. Phew.
I was an assistant manager for a store i worked at in my town. I have an allotment of alarms on my phone ranging anywhere from 6 in the morning until 10 at night. Once I was going on a last trip with my volunteer group for a week. I went to bed early with everything packed and shit because I had to go to the train station at 5am that was 30 minutes across the city. I overslept 4 HOURS. Obviously didnt catch the train and the bus the group took was gone as well of course. I had to take a train to our destination, problem was: Trains to Paris were all full. Next idea: Bus (Flixbus for my european peeps). I took a bus 6 hours to Paris, had breakfast, took the next bus to Rouen, took 2 small intercities and then another Bus to meet up with my friends. It took me 1 day to get there and cost 53€ total. I was panicking when I saw the time and 5 missed calls from various people, including our "supervisor"(idk the correct term) and 20 text messages. Back when I was a first year nursing student who had recently started doing practicum (basically, working at the hospital to practice nursing skills learned in school) once a week. I had this alarm clock that wasn't in military time, and the only way for it to tell me it was afternoon is when there is a small dotted light beside the word "PM." I set up my alarm for 5:00 because I had to be there by 6:30 am and the hospital was a 20-minute walk from my dorm. When I woke up, my alarm clock read 8:30am and my heart dropped. I grabbed my alarm clock to see why it didn't go off and realized that I set it up at 5:30 pm instead of am. I wanted to cry because nursing school is really strict when it comes to tardiness. I arrived at the hospital at 9:30 am and apologized to my mentor profusely and explained why I was late. Thankfully, she was forgiving and understanding much to my relief. From then on, I used my phone as an alarm clock.
yeah no if you are 1 minute late in italian uni, you cant do the exam. the only time they let someone in late is because they called uni telling them the train she was in had stopped working. she arrived 5 minutes late. we waited for 5 minutes and then started doing the exam. if she hadnt called uni, she couldnt have done the exam.

That actually reminds me of a time last semester when I pulled an all-nighter just so I wouldn't sleep through a class (this class was music theory and the professor always told us that missing a lecture is a big deal, so we should never miss class). This class was at 11am, which isn't super early, but this particular night my insomnia was really bad, and it got to a point where I was afraid that if I did fall asleep, I would sleep through my 11am class. This one time I woke up at 7:50 am and the bus to school had left 10 minutes ago. I threw myself out of bed, put on some clothes, brushed my hair in like three swipes, and ran down the stairs to grab breakfast, hoping one of my parents were still there to drive me to school. One time i have to give an endyear work to my teacher. There was no final exam, this was the "final work" that make me approval or not( i was studyng for chef). I live in the other city and i have almost 2 hours of travel to get into my class. I wake up, look at the time, and run to mi bus stop. If i got the bus, i will come exactly 5-10 min before the class ends (it was the last class of the year). Lucky me, i got the bus. Travel almost 2 hours and text some of mi colleges but nobody answer. Get to the place, run to my class and there was nobody. I was like "F################CK". And like 1 min later one of my colleges text me "ey, the teacher got sick, we have to give the work another day". So yeah... Kinda lucky....
This experience was funny and traumatizing: One day, I got into an argument with my mom and I was super young and I was a upset, So i locked myself in her room and fell asleep. Turns out when I was sleeping my brother and mom were PETREFIED cause I would not open the door and they did not know what to do. Mind you I was sleeping so I didn't hear anything even tho they were screaming and kicking and banging on the for. (IM A VERY HARD SLEEPER) Anyways my brother went onto the fire escape after they were knocking on the door for an HOUR SUPER SCARED. He went on the fire escape and tried to open the window. Which he had to basically hang on to the bar and jump out of the fire scape (WHICH WAS SO DANGEROUS) People were down on the side walk and were watching thing he was trying to break in. So he had to explain to them. He knocked on the window and I still didn't answer so he had no choice but to break the window. They opened the door and I woke up from my beautiful slumber with my brother showing me his full bloody hand. I took a look and went back to sleep.
I was supposed to meet my friends at 10am for a movie. I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing....... which was my friend calling me as it was 9:50am. Never gonna live it down.
@@ThatTURK1 I'm not really sure how it's weird tbh..... We planned to go to the movies in the morning, so we could spend the rest of the day shopping and talking. I hadn't seen these friends in a while so I had a lot of talking and catching-up to do. : )
The_ Duck02 watching a movie is like an end of the day type of thing not early in the morning, I never heard of anyone watching a movie in the morning until now
My first day starting as a trainee apprentice: had to be at jobsite at 4am, was told to get there early. It was going to take an hour to get there, even if there wasn't any traffic so early in the morning. I tried my best to fall asleep but didn't until 1am. Initially wanted to wake up at 1:30am to get ready and prepare to leave. Woke up at 3:50am to my mom knocking on my door while opening it saying "aren't you supposed to be leaving soon" my heart sank and i felt so ashamed lol. The guy who helped set me up said it was okay. I ended up not going through with any of it, tho.
prof in the last one is da real mvp. seriously. And by the way, to all of you using an android phone: never, NEVER let it install its software updates at night. Because the device won't switch back on again, which means no alarm clock. Learnt the hard way....
Used to work for one of those services that retailers bring in to do their inventories, and the shifts are... unpredictable, to say the least. Had an event scheduled that required me to meet the company van at the office at 4 am, somehow managed to oversleep my alarm(s, all 3 of them), and didn't get to the office until 4:15. Went to check my schedule to find out who my supervisor was for that shift so I could call them and let them know I would be driving myself since I missed the van, only to notice that the shift was actually scheduled for 4 *_PM_* and not the 4 am I had it in my calendar for. To say I was relieved is an understatement, since that shift was slated to be almost 12 hours long; literally over a third of my scheduled hours for that week (I'm glad to say I left that company and moved onto a more lucrative career as a long-haul truck driver. Company politics were bullshit anyway)
So my school has this weird policy where the punishment for skipping a class and being 5 minutes late where exactly the same. But when you didn’t show up and no one noticed nothing happened. So one morning I woke up at 12am realizing I had already skipped 1,5 classes I decided to wait until the next lecture started. Both my teacher hadn’t noticed I didn’t show up...
I have been self employed for years now. It's great because I make my own schedule and can sleep and wake whenever I want. My job before this was as a swim teacher/ manager of a pool. If I was late to work there would be 6 crying children, 6 or more upset parents, my boss stalker calling me, the other staff members who had to jump in the pool and cover for me pissed all day, and generally getting dissed by everyone at work for at least a week. Sometimes even a write up. It gave me so much anxiety sometimes I still wake up in the morning panicking that I have to be somewhere! Then I realize I can go back to sleep as long as I want... but still. Haunts me to this day... lol 😂
My psychology professor was talking to the class and how he didn't take attendence. I thought he did so I woke up every day at 6:30am and the class started at 7:15am. As soon as he said he didn't take attendence I said what? He said "haha looks like we won't be seeing DrDjPaddyD anymore." He was right, I ended up not showing up to class for 3 months and ended up showing up for the final and that was it. I got a 93 in the class since most of the work was all online. I felt bad at around the 1 month mark but I felt like I didn't go to class for so long that it was rude to show up.
You ever wake up at 6 am but you wanna sleep 1 more hour but you accidentally sleep 6 more hours?
Ever experience this, where you wake up and you are actually well rested, but you look at the clock and see it's very early so you might as well get one more hour of sleep. Then you wake up 3-4 hours later and now you are super tired despite all those extra hours...
@@Real_MisterSir yeah!! It happens all the time to me. I wonder why it happens..

But it was the most real sense of panic I have had, and it lingered for like 3 days before I finally calmed down enough to realize I wasn't going to school still.
Same thing happen to me today, AGAIN!!!

@@scottvelez3154 it doesn't
Scott Velez I wish I knew.
Its possible if you havent slept for 2 days...

That story about the fire alarm reminds me of a personal story:
It was the first semester as a college student, and I lucked out cause the school had just opened a brand new dorm building ( it was super nice, each room had four individual bedrooms, a common area connecting the bedrooms and the common area had a kitchen.) Anyway, as a prank, someone took a lighter to a sprinkler head in the hallway right outside of the room, I was in with three others.
This is why you set more than one alarm, especially if it's for something important. Turn vibration on and put it under your pillow for fool-proofing.

Coincidence all of these are college stories?
Sleep deprived students + finals? Yeah, the only thing you can do is pray fot the professor to be kind enough to give you a second chance.
And those things stick for lifetime in form of nightmare. Always give mini heartattack
I overslept and missed school. Worst part was I was still tired.
@tomato tomato I hate that, especially when the door is right at the front of the classroom.
The Shockmaster I fell asleep at 3pm and woke up at 5 am and the manager came to cover my shift lmao I felt like a shithead because I never do no calls no shows smh I had 8hrs to eat sleep and do stuff

I overslept to take the SAT last November. I wasnt ready anyway 😂😂
overslept for a first year english exam at 9am. woke up around 9:10. i originally planned to walk over since i lived on campus and it would be 5 minutes top, but seeing that i was already late i called an uber, went in my pajamas and just threw on some slippers, and ran downstairs. i told the uber driver i slept in for an exam and we get there in like a minute, but i had never been in this building before and was lost. so i finally get to the exam room fifteen minutes into the exam, push the double doors wide open where like 100 students currently writing their exam all look up at me in my pjs panting. i look to the prof who just nods and gestures to take a seat. still failed the exam anyway :/
My best and worst overslept moments:
Slept through school (didn't care about missing school, just about getting in trouble with mum) go downstairs and start apologizing for missing school. She just goes "They canceled school today, pipe burst. I shut your alarm off and let you sleep. There's breakfast on the stove."
Worst:
Stayed up late studying for my biology and English finals in my sophomore year of high school. Exam days are half days, 2 exams for 2ish hours. I need to pass the bio exam to pass the class.
School starts at 7:25. I wake up and look at the clock: 7:15
I walked to school everyday my mom works early.
I had to run it.
My school is a mile and a half away.
I made it because they started exams at 7:35. Phew.

Well it’s 6:13 for me nothing coincidental
I was an assistant manager for a store i worked at in my town. I have an allotment of alarms on my phone ranging anywhere from 6 in the morning until 10 at night. I had to be to work by 7:30AM one day and the night prior i accidentally set my alarm for 6:45 and 7PM instead of AM and didn't actually end up getting up and getting to work until about 9ish.
The store opened at 8
Needless to say i don't work there anymore.
Growing up, I had one of those Audobon clocks that chirped the hours. Bluebirds at 8 o'clock meant I was going to be late for school.
Now whenever I hear real bluebirds, I get a small panic attack.

EDIT: Grammar corrections.
last year, my class was going to go on a field trip to sea world and, of course, wanted to go. payed 80 dollars to go (which is a lot for 15yo me).. planned my outfit and made my lunch the night before. couldnt sleep bc i was so excited but i did eventually fall asleep. anyway, the morning comes and i wake up on my own (usually i have THREE alarms to wake me up but they didnt work or i just didnt hear them) and it was 9am. the bus to seaworld was at 8am. i cried.
Jenna C. This is me TODAY. I made eye contact with the bus driver and my teacher as the coach pulled away from the front of our school. My friends and classmates were messaging me and calling me like “Is that you? They said they’re not gonna stop just go home dude”
I almost shit my pants when I woke up that day
Mine has to be - I wake up at 10:00 I start work at 8:30 shits myself texts my boss how sorry I am I will be there ASAP has the fastest shower known to man, packs my lunch inhales my breakfast to which my dad calmly informed me it was Saturday 👍🏽

Can't oversleep if you never sleep.
I actually live on that. If I have to be somewhere early in the morning then I just don't sleep.
Satan at least get 4 hours of sleep, then wake up like 2 hours before you have to be there
That actually reminds me of a time last semester when I pulled an all-nighter just so I wouldn't sleep through a class (this class was music theory and the professor always told us that missing a lecture is a big deal, so we should never miss class). This class was at 11am, which isn't super early, but this particular night my insomnia was really bad, and it got to a point where I was afraid that if I did fall asleep, I would sleep through my 11am class. So I just decided I'd pull an all nighter so I wouldn't risk missing this lecture. I managed to do it but was really tired the next day 😂
For some reason, this morning I had it in my head that I needed to _leave_ for my destination by 9:35. I realized at about 9:22 that I had to _arrive_ at my destination by 9:35. I have never wolfed down a bowl of cereal so quickly.
Did you make it there?
@@gabby30m I did, but only just. I was actually slightly late, but my obligation conveniently had a slow start that day, so the call of attendance was delayed by one critical minute.
Did you drink the damn bowl?
That first one. So glad that professor had some human decency.
Right?!?!?!
I use to miss the bus so often by oversleeping that my mom installed a alarm in my bedroom. At 6 am (When i wake up) its her voice saying ALEXIS WAKE UP over and over again. I hated it at first but ive never overslept again
Modern problems require modern solutions
That sounds so creepy to me 😭
This one time I woke up at 7:50 am and the bus to school had left 10 minutes ago. I threw myself out of bed, put on some clothes, brushed my hair in like three swipes, and ran down the stairs to grab breakfast, hoping one of my parents were still there to drive me to school. As I'm sprinting down the steps, I look down into the living room where my brothers are usually watching TV while waiting for my dad to take then to school, but they weren't there. It was at that moment I realized... It was Saturday

And by the way, to all of you using an android phone:
never, NEVER let it install its software updates at night. Because the device won't switch back on again, which means no alarm clock. Learnt the hard way....
Waking up late for a final exam is a college essential :-)
Company politics were bullshit anyway)
who else is listening to this and reliving your college freak outs
So my school has this weird policy where the punishment for skipping a class and being 5 minutes late where exactly the same. But when you didn’t show up and no one noticed nothing happened. So one morning I woke up at 12am realizing I had already skipped 1,5 classes I decided to wait until the next lecture started. Both my teacher hadn’t noticed I didn’t show up...
My overslept experience is when one time I overslept.
Then I realize I can go back to sleep as long as I want... but still. Haunts me to this day... lol 😂
Makes me exited for college
My psychology professor was talking to the class and how he didn't take attendence. I thought he did so I woke up every day at 6:30am and the class started at 7:15am. As soon as he said he didn't take attendence I said what? He said "haha looks like we won't be seeing DrDjPaddyD anymore." He was right, I ended up not showing up to class for 3 months and ended up showing up for the final and that was it. I got a 93 in the class since most of the work was all online. I felt bad at around the 1 month mark but I felt like I didn't go to class for so long that it was rude to show up.
