What kind of notebook have you bullet journaled in?
And what kind of notebook would you like to try bullet journaling in? 📓💕
For me, I have used a gridded notebook, dotted notebook, and a 6 ring binder!
I would like to try using the Hobonichi notebooks 😍 and maybe a lined notebook, too!

I am going to restart bullet journal!!! Because the system I was using wasn't working out for me so this time I hope I will find the system that will suit my needs. Actually I started bullet journal this year but I couldn't implement it in my daily life! I bullet journaled in a dotted notebook. I'd really like to try in a lined notebook because a dotted notebook is really difficult to find in a stationery...I am really excited!!! Woo hoo!!!!🥳🥳

I have used unruled notebook then I first started it and it felt kind of difficult in the beginning and later on I got a dotted one next year and currently using a wire bound dotted notebook that I recently got!✨

I have a traditional dotted notebook for my everyday planner and journal, grid notebook for designs, and Hatch notebook for braindump/project building.

I enjoy the structure of lines, so I use an affordable grid notebook from Amazon. Honestly, I solely use brain dumps and rolling weekly’s. I use to obsess over the aesthetic layouts, but it stresses me out so much and usually just use a reliable pen. Don’t stress over perfection, there’s always another page to start fresh with :)

Glad you're covering this and showing such a basic setup, very close to Ryder's original. This community can get very carried away at times, both with aesthetics and expensive stationery. As you mentioned, it's about the system, not the tools. I use a $0.75 172pages single-lined notebook and it works just fine!

I really love this. I am definitely someone who tends to favor a more stripped down and simple design with very little color. I just find it easier to maintain and not hyper focus on mistakes I might have made. I think this is great way for a beginner to find their style and technique with little commitment (and effort). I'm trying to help my daughter learn more about using a planner and journaling for the upcoming school year. I wish I would have seen this sooner, but we did decide on an academic journal to help get her familiar with the concept.
    Great work!

Hi Bobbi, thank you very much for your comment! I agree that this style of journaling is beginner-friendly as it involves less commitment and effort! It's also just efficient 🤗 I wish your daughter all the best with her studies and I hope she finds a journaling style that suits her needs 💜

Claudia, thank you SO MUCH for this. I first discovered bullet journaling in 2018 but i was never fully capable of filling and finishing a journal due to the fact that i thought everything had to perfect. Because i’ve always wanted my journal to be more of a productivity tool rather than a summary of my artistic abilities, overly aesthetic doodles and spreads never really worked for me. And I thought that was all it was about. Thank you for showing me a new way to do it and reminding me that it doesn’t have to look like straight out of a studygram post. I’m getting back into bullet journaling for this school year and I can already tell that it finally works for me. Thank you ! :)

I got a new journal! It's been about 6 months doing bullet journaling now and I'm glad I did it! Thanks for your help, I'll still be watching this cuz I'm still on a budget heheh

I count in Cantonese as well! I learned my multiplication table in Cantonese (my mum's native tongue) and every time my math teacher tested our math verbally, I would always be slower as I had to mentally translate all the questions into Cantonese, get the answer, then translate into English before answering my teacher...😅

    • @claudiaspaurel

I see it as there is no limitation on what you can do with a notebook/Journal it's just about finding your style to it and enjoying the process and just letting your imagination run wild. It's just a fun way to express yourself, with how you want to Bullet Journal or just writing in genral on lined or dotted or even grid journals as well its all about what is your personal preferences and what is right to you. This is something I been exploring for years now and Im still finding that balance but what I learned is that I enjoy the things that I am writing in my Journal and that is something that would always be apart of myself :D

This June I made an experiment and, while riding in a long train ride, bought a graph notebook for $1 and a pen for $1, and tried a bujo in it. It worked better than I expected, even though I love complicated planning. I can't say that I love it completely because I love to put my pages in the particular order, which is not really possible in the bound notebook (that's why I used ring binders as filofax, modern, etc.), but, if I didn't have another choice, I would deal with it eventually.
    Thanks for the video🎥! ⭐👍💥

Ah yes, i love lined notebooks to bullet journal!! I'm so used to using them, bc it's what i've been using for two years, since the beginning of my bujo journey! I even get very artsy with it, and my favorite thing is doing themes with collages! Because well, they aren't markers that bleed! And also, a lined notebook can be whatever you like if you have the means and time. Usually, in the beginning of the year i like to add stickers, a elastic closure, a pen loop and a pocket to just look very pretty! Also i usually only do maths in portuguese because, it's already so hard in my native language, i can't phantom doing maths in English aksjzjxkxxk. Amazing video as always!

My sketch book only cost $5.00 AUD. I also have a book full of perforated dotted sheets, that I could easily stick in for certain pages, or use as guides! 🤔 Now I'm thinking, I just might give it a shot and see how it turns out.

I used lined notebooks in different sizes and then a grid notebook when I first started. And it helped me know my preferences, try it out and deal with my perfectionism before buying a dot grid bujo and not waste it too much. I wouldn't have known I prefer the traditional dot grid bujo and I wouldn't want to waste near-100 peso for them because it's been the norm when a cheap lined notebook works fine for me.

I count in Arabic too. I think it helps me focus since in English I can sometimes be on autopilot and not really paying attention. I’ve noticed that sometimes when I count in English I lose track of where I am, but that doesn’t happen in Arabic. Interesting to see that others have the same experience in other languages!

With me is the opposite. When I count I normally do it in English instead of Bulgarian (Bulgarian is my first language) and I don't know why.

About the bilingual thing, my parents are Indian and at home i always just use Hindi words for stuff around the kitchen most of the time, especially spices. I can't even speak Hindu fluently (i can understand fluently though), but sometimes I still don't know what certain herbs and spices are in English to this day lol

I don't speak in my native language, so I forgot about it or abandoned it. I still say some things that are in my native language, during english time, I spoke it 3 times so I have to pay 3 times lol. It feels comfortable for me lang, kasi, I am practicing it, and it is starting to be comfortable for me

Definitely try a rolling weekly, it’s sort of like a to do list but you don’t have to place any firm deadlines. I def suggests plant based bride video on it, but there might be one on this channel too :)
