i have never been much of a yamaha fan but this caught my eyes. good overview cant wait for the 2022 season for now 2022 looks to be a good year fro the snowmobile industry
Love the look of the sled, have the Riot right now, 2020 , thinking Sidewinder XTX will be my next purchase... thank you for a very good quality video...
I ordered the xtx-le because I will be more trail but want to be able to go off trail when opertunity is there My first yamaha been a cat faithful for decades now i will be driving a yamacat
Awesome! I've subscribed last winter. Can't believed £'ve missed this video. Do you guys have any info if Arctic Cat will use the genesis 998cc for a new zr 4 strokes?
Yes the front rear shock is so important people do look over it all the time. Funny i was thinking why didn’t they put a QS shock in center of skid then u mentioned it. Great point also that manufacturers over look it idk why like u said so important. Great video Thanks Josh.
Finally we agree lol, I also think the front arm shock is the most important shocks as well and why do they all skimp on it . Love to know the resoaning
Nice looking sled thanks for showing it, I personally won't go look at a yamaha, so it's great you guys do all of these walk-arounds, I love them, because of ST I have seriously considered Polaris sleds, which I wouldn't have ever done before, I don't know if it's just because our dealership here sucks, but you just don't see them around here, I have ridden cats all my life, proudly and happily, and Still will, but as money gets tight, and it feels like your always riding the same old thing it's nice to see other options, without actually spending another $15k on a sled I know nothing about except what the salesman or sales brochure says... So, a seriously heartfelt thanks to the Lester's for bringing these informative videos showing all the great sleds, along with the personal thoughts, and analysis on the latest text and specs of these newest, and greatest sleds👍👌
This video was actually shot a couple weeks ago before everything melted. We just had a ton of time sensitive content that needed to go online before it. Right now the lakes are all out and it looks like mid May.
Curious if they actually need ice rakers. My Sidewinder GT is admittedly a 1.25" lug (but a lot heavier as a 2-up touring model) on a 146" and never had heat issues. Warms up right to 170F engine temp, then holds it there (I believe the ECMs will variably play with fuel/air ratio to manage the engine temp) regardless of riding style.
This Yamaha looks amazing. I’m riding Skidoo now and love it a mxz but my next sled will be a Yamaha 4 stroke I think. Also that note of the exhaust sounds good! What a way they have come. My 2009 Arctic cat Z1 turbo sounds like a lawnmower stock lol
Change a couple small things and these sleds become phenomenal in the trees. More fun than any two stroke I've ridden in the trees. But that's an opinion is all
First. And it is a very nice color scheme. We know it can go fast. (200hp isn't for weanies) Now, what is this full size wonderfulness going to cost us pandemic weary muttons? Nice video! 😁
Logical question, if I’m permitted but WHY? WHY!? Do these reviews of spring only models get produced after the snocheck date? Is this a function of slow deliveries or long edits? Why can’t these manufacturers get sleds to ‘independent’ reviews earlier!? This is not a critique of this channel or this topic branch but more global in thought. I also think it’s a solo conversation topic if anyone wants to take it on
Yamaha's Spring PowerSurge runs through to April 17, 2021, but we hustled like mad men to get the intros from each manufacturer out in March and did the coverage of the Lynx, Renegade with Smartshox and the Mach done long before the spring program deadline. Usually we can get access to sleds in like February to get some coverage, but everything's a mess this year with COVID-19 travel restrictions.
@@snowtrax guarantee you're gonna get asked another 100 times before next winter 😆, we won't know the real answer until next winter when people start lining them up. I just hope it's apples to apples and don't use launch control. Because unless both sleds have it its kinda cheating and not a fair comparison
@@wasupfool5692 what? How is that cheating if it's factory equipped? Should some cars not be allowed in shootouts because they have AWD for ideal acceleration?!?!? AWD with launch control is even better!
Is it just me or am I looking at a 2014 with different colours??? For all you haters I own a 2014!! Lol Yamaha definitely corner the market on selling bling
It is just you. Other than the rear flap name one part number that would be the same as your 2014. engine. no. plastics. no. clutching. no. switch gear. no. skis, headlight, tunnel, cooling, computer, exhaust, seat, sending unit, reverse, instruments, handlebar warmers Nothing is the same. I have no idea what you are even talking about. The sidewinder didn't even exist in 2014. The closest would have been a apex which is absolutely nothing alike.
This sled sucks by step father got it and on the 1st ride of the season he dies from the snowmobile bc it he throttle stuck wide open and now he is dead no one can say it better but this sled is a waste of money
Finally, Yamaha began to produce beautiful sleds! 👍
200 hp 4 stroke Riot with a 2" track...looks phenomenal too
new colors are sick
Probably has a sick wrap on it now lmao
I soon as I saw this sled when it was released I loved the color! It’s a very sharp looking machine!
Prettiest production sled in 2022 hands down. Yamaha absolutely kills it with their graphics design department.
Can’t agree more
@@billb8862 , Me too wow
Agree!
Hey Snowtrax team, may I suggest that you book a flight to southern Argentina and keep making snowmobile videos during their winter (our summer). 😀
One of the best colors in a long time.
Awesome SLED!!! its amazing how well these tubo's work! Looks Fantastic!!
100% agree with you about the shocks, and particularly the centre shock.

Yes Luke started it! Lol
Cool looking sled. Sweet video again guys. Thanks again✌
Yamaha yamaha yamaha. Sweet sled. Luke who's the puppy. He looks like he wants to go on a ride. Keep up the great content.
Those are some very "out there" colors, definitelly striking!

Great review, can’t wait to get my hands on one.
Another great review. Cool color. Great design. Love the stubby mountain seat. Used to b able to get it on the 137” L Series but no more.
Sharp looking sled! Nice video!
How about a shootout between all the 146 crossovers?
Best looking sidewinder🥵

Every company does it for the aftermarket world.
Love the colour
How are these for trail riding?
hats off to Cat, nice paint job
Yamaha comes up with the colour.....
cat does a terrible job with graphic design. Yamaha does much better
@@samuelfink1619 I think Cat is second after Yamaha in the graphics dept, then Polaris 3rd and Doo is last by a long shot.
@@samuelfink1619 definitely, recently cat only has 1 or 2 decent colour schemes. I think yamaha has the best colours every year

Thank you very much, Kenneth! Really appreciate your kind words. Ride what you love and love what you ride!!

Did you do a review of the LTX-SE by chance?
Lookin forward to getting mine 😅
How do you guys have so much snow still in Haliburton? We're growing green grass in Clarington

Kind of ugly
So did I

Stick to your Skidoo. You'll realize why after you buy that Yamaha. There's more to a sled than color and 180 HP.
4 stroke turbos are great, until u get stuck
I spring booked this sled and Yamaha says it does not come with this bumper, hand guards, or the ice scratchers?
Can you leave the key on hit the kill switch to the off opposition and leave it overnight or will it kill the battery?

Can you swap out for the alpha rail ?
Is this the same front end as a 2018 btx?
This sled should come Standard with a lawn chair..... I would just sit outside all day and stare at it... yum.
The dog is like ... who is he talking to?
Nice review ..
Thank you
When is Yamaha going to announce the 2023 models/snowcheck?
I think it is mid-March. I will confirm.
@@snowtrax thanks!
why no more yamaha blue? , and no more btx ?
God I would love to own this bad boy
Same color as my 19 kodiak 450 se

What about a pull start for back up?
Where is the 2022 Mach Z vs 2022 sidewinder comparison?
Who's a good boy!?!? Doggy far more interesting than a decade-old platform :)
How do you unstuck a heavy ass 4 stroke off trail?
what difference between this one and L-TX ?
There's a few differences, but the largest is it is this SE is a 146 and the LTX is a 137.
i think she's perfect, u can switch the ski spacers to gain another inch or so of front width but even at 40 i noticed no difference on my 21
But the question is will it wheelie??👀👀
I hope thats not something your acctualy wondering if it will do........
