As much as I do enjoy the ambient music in ER, there is something to be said about just environmental ambiance and the rattling of your character's armor as you stomp on through
I think they both suited each of their games really well, since the Elden Ring area music isn't super obtrusive! I'd still love to see what ER would sound like with the BotW approach, though.
@@pedroscoponi4905 yeah I think that's a cue they took from BotW, really unobtrusive, minimal music to set a vibe. Works to great effect!
I personally enjoy the silence but in Elden ring it really threw me off that I couldn't hear my character over the music
id literally wear the slumbering dragon crest ring just to stop this effect XP
Yes, this! Exactly this. Ambiance in games never gets old, but music does. I love the ambient music but it does get old after a while. I believe it does a ton for the atmosphere.
Old Tomb Raider games did this really well. Specially TR4, which even though has more instrumentation than the previous ones, spaces out the notes so much usually that it doesn't become repetitive in the same way, while still setting this atmosphere of death and decay.
Old Resident Evil games did it really well too, and we know they're definitely influenced by Capcom, if the similarities to stuff like Monster Hunter doesn't tip you off. I feel like Dark Souls as a whole captured this feeling very well, with beautiful songs for special places like Firelink Shrine / Majula, with its RE analogue being the save rooms. Bloodborne also takes a page from RE by putting spooky music in rooms with developer crafted spooky situations (Upper Cathedral Wards and Yahar'Gul come to mind which are AWESOME).
This truly is the Dark Souls of terrain collision.
nothing slaps harder than the path to gwyn...
the ability to improve, adapt and overcome
In every FromSoftware game I've played, I managed to lose a boatload of currency to gravity. Just a few days ago I lost 1.4 million runes trying to get them back from that huge hole in Limgrave that leads to Nokron. Luckily I was at the point where that amount of runes wasn't worth much
Equip a twig talisman or drink a twiggy physick when running back to lost runes to prevent that from happening in the future.
@@cruoton. I should do that, but I'm almost certain to forget lol
amazing storytelling
I miss DS3 and DS1. Especially DS3. But of course i wouldn't give up on ER, i just need some rest and a spark to make another playthrough
learned from the mistake of playing elden ring and going back to ds1 xD
yeah, DS become so much more enjoyable after playing elden ring.
@@windflier1684 it's the opposite for me
At least you got your souls back
"Prithee, be careful."
Just because you learned to avoid one pitfall doesn't mean you will avoid the next one.
Guess it’s time to make a ds1 debug tool showing map collisions :(
I swear ds 1 ground is always bleached...its so slippery.
Should've leveled adaptabi- oh, wrong game
Damn, I forgot that Zweihänder looked better in DS1 compared to e.g. Elden Ring.
My man fell trough a gap the size of a toast.
Hell yah some ds1 content! Been there before
"Because Amir. learns from his mistakes."
"REMASTERED"
lolled hard irl. fine work, skeleton
ds1 content will always get a view, like, and probably a comment too 😍
Who hasn’t been there... the souls experience! 😖😂🤣
Every DS1 player did this at least once.

Was this a recent session bro? Crazy if so.
Very noticeable left stick drift on your controller. Should get some rubbing alcohol and try to fix.
POV: You've played too much Elden Ring, and forgot that Dark Souls jumping is terrible.
