It’s a very nice gift for your sister. There is love in that bike.
Cheers Peter!
This build turns out really well. i love those skin wall tyres, agents the black frame when the tyres on my new bike are ready for a change. I'm definitely adding them to mine ✌🏽🎄
Thanks! They were a bit of a bargain in the sales recently too!
You did a beautiful job brother 👍🏽
Thank you so much 😀
1:57 that struggle is real, always gotta love guessing between 4, 5 and 6 mm
Just always handy to keep those 3 out all the time eh
Nice one man, plain black was the way to go imo. As much as I like GT they tend to put way too much colorful stickers on their frames and rims, giving the bike a cheap and childhish touch.
Thanks! Yeah I wasn't a fan of the blue and orange/green combo.
One lucky Sister. Nice build again MS. 👍
Thanks Paul!
Welcome back,Mark, and nice build for your sis! Merry Christmas!
Thanks dude. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Mark! Thanks for this video!
Merry Christmas. Hope you had a good one.
Nice build, you might be able to get a better for for same price or less. I've not checked the UK market, but in Norway it's easy during the summer.
I'm curious what you think of the Nukeproof parts so far.
Super nice finish on the frame. Very very elegant.👍👍👍
Cheers John!
I was always amazed at the price of the park tool derailleur aligning tool otherwise id have one!!
Yeah. They’re useful but expensive. Especially as mine fell apart and I lost the ‘measuring rod’ so I just use a ruler now.
Revitalised. A nice bike reborn.
Thanks!
Really enjoyed this build.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Happy new year!
That looks class 👌🏻
Thanks Sam!
Super Awesome!
Cheers Rob 🤙
very classy build that mate 🙂
do you want to be my brother too?
hope you're having a very merry christmas
😂 thanks bud. Hope you had a good Christmas too.
Have you ever tried a 700c front wheel and a 650b rear?
Happy crimbo mr shred. Bike looks oukka
Cheers Mikey. Merry Christmas

cool build man. Did you build another bike for your sister some time ago?
Thanks Bruce. It was last year for my niece. The little Green Kona.
What fork did you use?
What are you measuring to on the alignment tool, just the top of the edge of the square section?
Basically yeah.
@@MonkeyShred Never thought about doing that, got to be easier than the awkward sliding dowel! Nice one.
Missed you. Hope all is well.
All good thanks!
Nice job! About how much did the Cera-Kote cost?
Thanks! For the frame, I think it cost me £65
Where did you get the frame painted as I want the same quality and colour
Seconded
Try Central Wheel Components.
Think it needs a 2.5 spacer for boost chainline…
So the bike isn’t boost. SRAM cranksets have a 3mm offset for boost or 6mm for non boost. I swapped out the 3mm boost ring for a 6mm non boost.
可利呼怎么不开个ig呀。。。。。
Maybe it's because I worked in bike shops in the 1990's...or maybe it's because I have a strong sense of aesthetics and style regarding bikes (and cars, houses, etc.), but I just can't understand why nearly all of today's mountain bikes have these ridiculously short stems! I've never had any problem riding a mountain bike with a 100mm to 130mm stem, so don't tell me it's somehow better, functionally. Nowadays, stems longer than 70mm are almost considered "verboten". Crazy. But, I'm also into friction shifting, 7 speed drivetrains and rim brakes. I guess I'm just a retrogrouch.
Basically, wider handlebars enable more precision in steering… sane reason oval track racing cars have big steering wheels. Combined with the forward extension of MTB front wheels beyond the toe-strike zone, a short stem becomes necessary to keep the bar within reach.
It also makes shifting your weight back much easier while retaining good control during steep descents.
You must have missed the memo, longer frames & shorter stems. While steering long stems make 1 arm longer and the other shorter, instead of doing a push/pull you are rotating both hands around like a captains wheel
If you consider newer trail bike geos, yeah you're just a grouch...
I love my older bikes but they are hanging on the basement wall 😂
A strong sense of aesthetic but no understanding of design it seems. No there is no issue with 90's stems but it doesn't mean it can't be improved. Point a modern bike down a rough trail and tell me it doesn't feel much easier to manage. I also love retro stuff and there's a lot of changing for changes sake in the bike industry but the evolution of mtb geometry and stem length isn't a marketing thing.
No fenders, nothing....
Congratulations dude. It looks like you don’t need glasses after all.
They're called mudguards in the civilised world.
