We were totally the same way! I started loving the "boring" singing when I was about ten though, and I had to keep my younger brothers from skipping it.
I had the privilege of hearing Sara Clancy live years ago. Her voice is the voice of an angel, so clear with an amazing range. It is a shame she is not more widely recognized.
My fifth grade teacher introduced me to Riverdance. My mom took me to my first show not long after, since I became obsessed. Everything about it haunts me, oh this song. ❤️
Once this pandemic is over I am very much looking forward to them coming back to the States to tour. I’ve heard some of their pieces outside of Riverdance (mostly from their Christmas albums. Their arrangement of the Wexford Carol is G L O R I O U S.) and ever since have been dreaming about the day I can hear them in person. Planning on having my step mom come with me cause she’s a chorus teacher.
Smiles...Good Tears...Goosebumps to be sure...and simple Jubilation from just one song.....boy howdy I'm over the moon every time I hear this....Cheers All
Same here. Not sure why. First heard this song as a kid when this performance first aired and it always had a haunting feeling to it. I was strangely drawn to it. Still listen to it from time to time whenever I think of it
Lead singer: I would love to hear and see everything there is of hers. I found her once online, but now I can't. What is her name? Do you know what she's doing now? Thanks.
Her name is Sarah Clancy, she ended up coming back to her home town and opening a music and drama school for kids, this was when I was young, don’t think it’s around anymore, amazing lady
I showed my nephew and my niece what a vhs is, they were confused. I was born in 2000 and I was raised with vhs before. My mom used to work at a vhs repair place a long time ago.
Same here, I don't like the new Disney. I like classic films too. Today it's just tech tech tech! watching vhs movies makes t.v. more exciting. Moana was okay.
The lead singer is was my music teacher. She is so talented and an amazing teacher :)
Gcs bro ???
Me too!!
This song featured in my mother's funeral service over 10 years ago..... I still get emotional when I hear it!
May your mother rest in peace.
As kids my sister and I would fast forward the 'boring' singing parts. Now I find myself looking up the songs and just trying not to cry.

RivenHale i find myself doing the exact same thing. these songs are angelic. i could listen to her sing all day.
I only started to love songs and music like this as I get older.
so true. the songs are short but they are complex from a compositional standpoint so I think it is hard to follow for a kid

Firmly, with two hands so you don't accidentally drop it.
