- Hello folks, I am glad I got to post this before the new year. Special thanks to Alyssa Springer, can't make this happened without her unconditional help. Merry Christmas and happy new year!
Turing Tutorial (core excercise) : • Ballet Turning Tutorial
I had a huge awakening during my first pas de deux rehearsal! It felt like I had to relearn, rethink my whole way of dancing. I realized I was never really holding my core! So now I have to really work on that :)
What a great youtube channel! There's a lot of ballet channels out there for girls but its great to see a male dancer's perspective as well, especially for the guy dancers out there.
She is very pretty :) what a lovely hair color!
Congrats on your promotion!!! Houston ballet’s newest principal dancer!!
He’s now a principal with New York City Ballet!
My number one tip as a ballet dancer is communication!!! Talk and don't be afraid to offer constructive criticism in either position
in lifts the plie for boys and girls is the most important step. for the girls to help the guy lift her to take away some weight, and for the guys to use the legs in lifting and not purely the arms, because you would die after a few lifts xD
This is really helpful, I'm doing snow pas de deux in nutcracker this year, and I'm really not a good partner.
Finally! partnering.. Yay
Thank you you both. Very helpful, esp about the girl’s weight and shape. And also the strong core. :)
Great Video! It's so hard to find good Pas De Deux training videos. I always appreciate your videos Mr. Chunner.
I hope the second video comes out soon, because I need it! 🙏🏻😭✨✨
They're both so beautiful when they dance it's like perfection lmao
Shes very good.
This is super helpful, thankyou so much!
This video just saved my life. I have a question. Everytime I partner with the girls in class it's super hard for me to put them on their legs, I can't feel it. So how can I figure out when they're on their legs without having to look at the mirror?
It depends on the position that they're in. Generally speaking, the girl is on their leg/on balance when you don't feel too much weight in any particular direction. You either feel no weight or the weight's spread very evenly. That's the case for a 1st arabesque. If you're going from a retiré to a développé devant, then you need to adjust her slightly back to counter her leg weight that is now in the front. I hope that makes sense.
Hey Chunner. Can you do a video on calf strength.
Thanks for doing this video because it's very helpful. I need to partner with a girl in my dance
Hey Chun. Love your channel. First of congrats on your promotion, very well deserved !!! I just have a little questions. Next to ballet, what's your fitness routine like, do you hit the gym and for what and how often ? I would really appreciate an answer. Best wishes
Marcus Remund of course! I do go to the gym as often as I can. We dance 6hours a day, and most of the time I have to do partnering work, in that case I don’t go to the gym. If I have break during the work day, I will use that hour to hit the gym one two days.
What exercises do you do to be strong for ballet and partnering?
The guy is really cute
pls keep posting video!
Heyy can u do a video on how to control movements , thanx
Great tips! I totally agree :D
Any tips for a girl suffering vertigo. I have to wear glasses no contacts so when dancing not having glasses on make my dear of hights even worse. Any tips on loosing that fear ?
Could you do a video on your diet please
Rachael Webster emmm, it’s hard but I will try

Where is her leotard from??
Hi.. I'm a 23 year-old-dude that just started ballet. I've been taking the basics for one and a half month now.. but now the teacher has started assembling a choreography for summer. Problem is, class is only twice a week and she wanted me to do at least one partnering move (I'm the first and only male dancer in the academy so she really wanted to implement some partnering moves since they've never had a a male dancer)and it was a disaster.. I'm supposed to turn a ballerina while she is doing an arabesque on pointe, I couldn't keep her steady at all.. problem is, since all the class now is focused on assembling the choreography I really have no way to practice with the ballerina.. any advice on how can I practice that? I really want to pull it off
She reminds me of that girl from American pie....
Jesus loves you very much even if you don't believe it
Hi, I wanted to get a few tips on pas. It turns out Alyssa went to the same studio as my wife. (Danse Conservatory)... Fun fact.
°-°' ..Why the horrendous "music" behind? why?...Jeez
