- Avatar is a nearly perfect Franchise but these deleted stories could've legit made the shows better or worse, you decide that though.

Asami as a villain would actually have been pretty interesting. Say she agreed with Amon’s philosophy but not his methods. I mean really, the Equalist movement shouldn’t have vanished that quickly just because the leader left. Someone else would have stepped into the role whether they deserved to or not
Thank you! Thats what I always say. It is a movement. Amon triggered broght it in spotlight but it is impossible not to have inequality and divide in a world where not everyone bends. Someone would continue it.
The whole serie always lacked the time to properly flesh out the antagonists.
They all had a valid point stemming from reali issues (amon was defending the oppressed, unalak wanted to bring back spirituality and balance, zaheer wanted to free a nation of a tyrant, kuvira wanted to restore order and protect her nation)
Yet every time the issues were dispelled once the antagonists were defeated...
In the original, there is only one true antagonist, ozai, incarnating imperialism. And even once he is defeated the issue is still addressed with the fact that zuko is put in charge. A new leader who we know is against impérialism After seeing first hand the consequences when he travelled the Earth kingdom.
Legend of korra always lacked 4episodes per seasons to better define the issues and flesh out some answers for after the fall of the antagonist.
When i see what netflix did with 150millions (book1 of the live action) i can t help but think this much money would have been better used to do a rewrite of korra with enough screen time to build a satisfying story.
Your right because when it came to the episode in which hiroshi was heard by Korra, Asami had some equalist voice lines
I've been hoping the comics would have an issue or story arc focused on former equalists.
I've been thinking about this.
If there were ever a live action adaptation of Korra, the writing team can utilize "Asami was a spy for the equalist" story line again. There, we will see her character development arc the moment she spent time with Korra more, and realize benders and non-benders are one and the same. She opened her eyes and decided to double crossed both her dad and Amon by becoming Korra's informant. Then after Amon was defeated, she announced that she will reform the equalist to be the bridge between benders and non-benders, collecting the issues and concerns from both sides and helping them to find best solutions to maintain the harmony. She won't be involving directly in the process, instead she choose someone worthy enough to lead the change.
The writers can also insert Asami's redemption arc where she tried to apologized for being a spy to the movement the Krew opposed to. They can write how she tried and failed to convince anyone, especially Korra, who felt betrayed the most. They can apply similar approach for Zuko's redemption arc to Asami's. After Asami announced the reform of the equalists, finally everyone forgive Asami and they allowed her to join them again. Thus, starting Book 2, she is official in the Krew.
I think the Azula arranged marriage concept is interesting. Depending on how it was portrayed I feel like it might’ve made the audience sympathize with her
Yeah I completely agree it's one of those stories which I would've been happy to see but I'm also fine without it.
she is literally 14, it would just be weird
Unfortunately, that's all the information I've ever heard on the subject, the first I heard about it was that it was a way to write her out of the show for whatever reason. The whole idea is conceptually strange. I guess I could have bought the idea that she was forcefully engaged to a formidable villain who she spends the rest of the series plotting with.
@czkiller7378, unfortunately, in the real world. Arranged marriage among royalty that young is standard practice.
@@czkiller7378 that makes sense tho? The firebenders are created with japanese imperials in mind. Those people had arranged marriages for royalty as young as 12.
I'm genuinely hurt that Kuvira's backstory was replaced by Remembrances. Yes, the episode gave birth to a hilarious recap of the series, not to mention Mako's more emotionally focused recap that reminded viewers of the character development taking place throughout the show. And yes, it was a nice filler before the finale in classic Avatar fashion. But an entire episode with Kuvira's backstory would've expanded her world so much more, allowing us to sympathize with her beyond a sad, short explanation after her capture. Also, adoptive mom Suyin, anyone?
woo nick cut budget!! wwowow but ti was so popular
@@cupidok2768 They put the backstory in the comics.

I originally didn’t mind Raava being the avatar spirit but hearing that the original idea was for it to be the Earth’s spirit I like so much better. I really enjoyed LOK but it could have been so much better 😭
I think it’s meant to be “spirit of the physical world,” not so much the earth.
@@samhersch8161Still better than the giant glowing tape worm

LoK is good. But at the same time, you can see there were the foundations to make it another masterpiece on the level of atla.
But this opportunity got killed by the lack of means. Nick really hindered it at every turns.
And that s why some people dislike lok, we can t help but see the missed potential.
Me too
You left out the entire episode that got cut from ATLA between S2 Finale and S3 premier. Where Aang goes on a spirit world journey while being technically dead.
That's very true that's another great one!
If you ask me I think Asami being a villain woudve have made her a far better character, she could’ve pulled a Zuko and had a redemption arc later on, plus that first delved scene with her wanting to spend time with Korra could’ve actually made the whole korrasami couple make sense.
agree with you, exept korrasami already makes sense what r u on
@@cherrybomb571 It never was....
@@cherrybomb571it literally only make sense if you describe it like this
“A boyfriend so bad that he turned his girlfriends gay”
@@Castformsupremacy She is a confirmed bisexual? So is Korra
@@cherrybomb571 it literally doesn't. There was no tension or build up to them being a couple at the end of the show. It was just Korra plowing through her team and Asami just ended up as the last person.
Kuvira's backstory is robbed from us by Nick
I wish they had done an Azula redemption Arc or Korra meeting an older Azula after she was posioned and Azula offering advice on dealing with emotional stuff based on her experiences. A Kuvira backstory arc and Red Lotus backstory arc would have been nice as well.
Yes, old Azula would have been great to see
Nahhhhh
I feel like Azula, if she did get married in s3, would definitely have killed her husband while she was losing her sanity👀
I'm rewatching TLOK and ATLA for the 4th time rn
That's awesome! you should aim for 10 retwatches by the end of the year lol.
me too homie… me too
4th......please
kinda sad fr me but im on my 24th time lol im lowkey addicted to atla
I've seen them 3 times and i still want to rewatch it all
Asami speaking to Korra would make the hints of Korrasami happen. Rhere are some times Asami showed her strong care for Korra, when Korra was knocked out.
Mabey it will be controversial but I would have really liked if the Aang, Gyatso scene had made it into the show
Yeah same! it's dark but shows the mindset aang was in we even saw a dream he had in "The Storm" where everyone disappears so I feel like it could've worked just fine.
Keep in mind this show was meant for all ages. Having a skeleton just appear like that in a nightmare can be very heavy on a lot of young children
I wish I get to see Kuvira's backstory even more
The original plan for the avatars origin was much better than what we got raava and vaatu just don't do it for me
what was the original plan?
That the Avatar was the spirit of the Earth in human form. Which would have been better as it would have taken away the good vs evil concept LOK gave us which to me took away the key component TLA gave us about balance. Also would have been better reasoning as to why the Avatar must maintain balance in the world.
The Korra and Asami things would have made it feel a bit less out of left field when they hooked up, honestly.
I think the last air bender perhaps being 80 episodes instead of 61 episodes would have been a lot better my biggest gripe with the show is that it was just not long enough to properly build up ozai and Azula as villains.
Kuvira flash back story would be great for the show👍
2:22 what happens to hawky? We literally never see it again after it took off to beifong's house
Kuvira was a good antagonist because she was gray area. She did a lot of stuff that made sense when it came to reunification of the earth kingdom. But she went too far like many leaders that re-build their countries back up into powerful nations. If you are too rigid u will break. u need to bend a little.
But ya, it would've been interesting to see Azula in an arranged marriage. But it's hard to imagine any man not related to her dominating over her. I wish she did have a redemption arc somewhere in the story. just disappears to be some random crazy agent of chaos that poke her brother in his reign as fire lord.
read the comics she has one
She wasn’t a good antagonist because they made her out to be hitler then gave her a redemption arc
Always thought Asami was going to betray them - the first accident just seem too played out
But Avatar Aang a Sci-Fi thing? I would stop watching the show there and then
welcome to season 3 and the Spirit gun avatar.
So I went to rewatch korra a few weeks ago, and I fully though Asami was a traitor when I was watching it
The next avatar after him can be stuck in the spirit world fighting off evil spirits to escape 😈🗺
I don't like the arrange marriage arc for Azula whatsoever. So far from what we see it seems the Fire Nation marries in their late teens (Ursa) to earlies thirties (Ozai, maybe Iroh). Azula and Co did have to grow up fast but they don't seem to be deemed to have reached the ages of adulthood and marriage. Zuko is 16/17 and the heir to the Throne but there is no talks of arranging a marriage for him and it would be strange to marry the younger sibling before the elder.
I like the idea of Asami being a villain turned hero, it would give her a real character arc. If she came from a poor non-bending family that would have given us a character to explore the class/bending dynamics that season 1 tries to premise itself on and give Asami character development as she tries to create a healthy way to address inequality.
a sci-fi ATLA series would've been interesting..
IKR! It's also possible we'll see some of these elements in the next Earth Avatar series. We'll have to see though.
the avatar being the spirit of the earth makes actual sense compared to the complete destruction of the spirits that we got with raava and vatuu. them and the spirits from "beginnings" on the whole just ruined everything. man what the hell
I think that beginnings makes sense and even enhances it, reply if you need. explaination
@@cherrybomb571
I’ll hear you out, as wrong as you likely are
@Brain-washed2 you are even more wrong
@@umitencho how. The concept of good and evil was non-existent for the Atla spirit world. Introducing “light” & “darkness” (read: good and evil) incarnates is a direct antithesis to what it was set up to be. It is undeniable.
@@cherrybomb571it doesn't make sense you just like it
Did you know that they were gonna make a ATLA season 4 and it was about Azulas redemption arc aka the gaang teaching Azula to be good
I’m so glad #4 didn’t go through
I think the Azula arranged marriage would have been really cool especially since because it was cut we don't really see her in that last season, which in my opinion really hurts her character development and general story arc. Even if the marriage was just a helpful background for character development I think it would be cool to see how Azula would have handled it and also see how her character progresses.
1:15 to be fair, I would have liked to see a bit more of a villainous Iroh now and than. It is nice to have him be his enlightened peaceful self, but we musn't forget this man send more people to their grave personally or indirect than Ozai ever did.
I actually hated Rava. It meant the avatar wasn’t special it was the spirit inside them. Which bites us later when she gets taken out of Korra
I didn't hate Raava but I prefer their original idea. It made more sense imo.
No
I would combine both. My rewrite would be Raava and Vaatu were both 1 Spirit known as the Spirit of the World. How the spirit was split into two would be the indecision between keeping the world same or constantly changing the world (Static vs. Dynamic). The imbalance created Raava the spirit of order and Vaatu the spirit of chaos. The two would clash consistently. The last time Vaatu won, the spirit portals were created and the world changed. Raava would then try to keep the world the same while neglecting the humans. The age of the Avatar from Wan to Roku left the world stagnating due to interfering with humanity. The only times the world change is between the death of the Avatar and the Avatar being fully realized. It was until Aang vanished that the change became huge. Vaatu has the power to sway the hearts and minds of all living things to their primal instincts aka Dark Spirits. Raava has the power to control life as orderly as possible. I would put the ending of Book 2 as Korra not destroying Vaatu but instead splitting Vaatu and Unalaq and merging both Raava and Vaatu with herself.
@@mranima748 yes
I'd argue it made them special in the wrong way. Instead of being a fallible human capable of making mistakes, everything they do is fundamentally good because they're the embodiment of pure goodness.
I've got both ATLA and Korra on bluray, but I've never took the time to poke around the special features. Is the korra deleted scene with Asami giving Bolin and Korra gifts on the bluray? If it's not, where did you find it?
The world would be destroyed take over by robots and the next avatar diffeats them saving the world 🗺
4:40 Later on, during the TLOK comic The Ruins of the Empire, we actually see Kuvira’s backstory.
Aaron Ehaz is the goat for making iroh who he is
Azula should've had arranged marriage that would be great
nah she would've killed him
I guess
Avatar we want to make a double crossing traitor character….. wait there too cool we don’t want to tarnish there rep
I can only wish upon what you had to explain about Iroh’s dark side was all just a nightmare🙏🏻. Im relieved it wasn't real because I really like the chatacer allot and I would also feel betrayed to his darker iteration.
Too bad Nick did what they did to Korra. I'd love that Kuvira episode.
Korra had a longer runtime than ATLA and it was a TOTAL FLOP rating and fan reaction wise.
"And everyone likes Asami" (whatever her name is)
Me: awkward 😒
Learning about number 8 made me sort of mad
I am so glad the Azula thing didn't happen. I feel like that would just be there for filler, and Azula should not have anything close to a redemption arc. She was completely evil, and some characters don't have to be redeemed. We already had Zuko, and her descent into madness was already interesting.
Was she really just evil though? I had thought the same until the Ember Island and Boiling Rock episodes. Made me rethink her entire character. She was a bully, but also represented what Zuko could've been without Iroh.
@@kdlove8629 I think it was interesting that Azula was like Zuko without Iroh. Instead of having someone kind and caring, she had an evil maniac.
@@kdlove8629 She is everything that is EVIL and she Revels in it UNTIL she is taken down a peg over and over again. She regrets being stopped not being evil.
Can the next avatar fire avatar take on demons or evil spirits🧚♂️😈🔥
I would have loved ❤the avater to wake❤ up 10000 years in the future and not for him to be a ravva spirit
unpopular opinion, but ASAMI as a spy might havent been such a bad idea.
An arranged marriage for Azula would have been a great idea from a storytelling perspective. Azula wants 2 things throughout the show: Approval from Ozi and Control. Having a arranged marriage take away her angency and Control over her life - something she does not want for her to gain the approval of her father. This would show more of an indepth Azula showing that she is maybe willing to give up one of the things she fights for, for another. And if the writers decided that she runs away from the marriage and there for disappointing her father it could start the process of the madness arch. Or her being confined to a unwanted marriage would of had her go mad.
Idk i'm just a nerd who likes to ramble.
When I first saw Asami I thought she was gonna be trouble, but I'm glad I was wrong.
Those aren't all episodes, most of those are concepts.
for the #8 acctually it's better they had a symbiote between a human and a spirit for an Avatar since Avatar is a bridge between both worlds and is supposed to keep balance between both humans and spirits alike
Bruh The planet BEING the bridge to the two realms was ATLA's description of the Avatar. Korra fully retconned that for Raava and Vaatu (Both were originally be villain pulling the strings behind the scenes as Spirits working together. To different halfs to make a whole.)
I wish Asami was a villain
I think it would've been a cool storyline 100% and then get to redeem her.
Same tho
A villain who suddenly fall in loved with Korra :)

Interesting but these aren't "episodes"; they are stories and scenes like you said at the end of the video.
I'm most likely in the minority here but I always liked but I'm glad they cut the scene where Korra's like "Isn't there someone else you want to thank." It made her look more immature.
its perfectly inline with her character. Korra is immature for the whole series.
Asami did look like a villain.
I cannot recall why I didn't like her as a kid, but I can for Korra. Korra's too whiney
Where did you find the cut scenes?
all of these scenes/ideas were trash. Korra's especially if they kept that Asami scene it would make EVEN LESS SENSE that they got together with the Sheer amount of animosity Korra has for Asami..
You could easily tell episode 1 iroh is an entirely different person than any episode after
Redeem Kuvira?! The fuckin’ Nazi?! What would possess you to combine Sozin, Azulon, Ozai, and Zuko into Earth Empire Hitlette?
Most of Korras big bads.. Kuvira and AMON was FORCED to be bad by the writers They lack the ability of self reflection much less the ability to understand people so they slap traits onto them to make us hate them instead of having us disagree with their ideology. Worse yet NORMAL people saw Zahir as the TRUE hitler from his ideology but the writers try to paint him as in the right but doing it wrong.
