How ironic was this: Miss Universe 1996, Alicia Machado(from Venezuela), helped crown Miss Teen USA in Las Cruces, NM(a state with MANY spanish speakers)! Then Miss Texas, another state that has many Spanish speakers, wins Miss Teen USA
Not really sure where this news came from but apparently Christie had been bad-mouthing Keylee during the rehearsals for the pageant. Of course the news would get to to Keylee and she wasn't happy that of all the contestants, it would be Christie who would win.

My favorite was California all the way. I thought her mistake was repeating the same answer she gave in top 6 during the last question round. I think Christie won by default when Leah Sexton was eliminated....

I really loved watching Miss Teen USA pageant on TV back in the day, that's until trump got a whole of the pageants. With his stupidity he ruined the pageant industry and Miss Teen USA was dropped from be broadcast. I was hoping Miss Teen Pennsylvania would have won but I felt her answer was more for Miss USA then Miss Teen USA, the question was about helping teens. California answer was to rehearsed, since she was ask this question before during the competition. Texas did give the correct answer to the question that was asked, which got her the crown. The crowd and judges favorite was Miss Teen Missouri, but she stumbled with her answer which kept her from advancing to the top 3.
Keylee Sue Sanders did what Alicia Machado did to Brooke Lee the following year...just plopped the crown on the head of the winner and took off....what a nasty attitude. Christie deserved to win that night....she had the best answer. Miss California looked old and that evening gown she wore was NOT becoming to her at all. She was too tall to wear that type of dress.
