Info: Music video from 1978 where the music is playback but Dio (and some of the other guys?) is singing live, with slightly different lyrics than on the album.
Techincal: This music video recorded in 1978 has only seen faulty releases so far. The trails left by lights in the video tells me it was originally shot with video cameras like the other two videos from the same studio, but unlike them it was transferred to film for some reason. It suffered a major quality loss in both picture and audio quality because of the transfer. Film has a different framerate (24 or 23.976) than NTSC video (29.97) but there is an easy way to convert film to NTSC framerate without losing any frames or blending them. Movie companies have done that since they started releasing movies on video or DVD. Even though that's the case, when this video was added as a bonus for the Munich 1977 concert DVD it was handled incorrectly.
On the PAL version, the video has been sped up to 25 fps and the audio has followed with a raised pitch and sounds weird. Still all frames are intact.
On the NTSC version, instead of simply converting it properly to keep the frames and correct audio pitch, they took the PAL version which was already converted to 25 fps and converted THAT to NTSC (29.97) and it caused frames to blend together and kept the sped up audio.
This sped up audio was even kept for the 2nd disc of the Deluxe Edition of the album! I can't understand that nobody else identified it as a simple fps conversion error.
Either way, after converting the PAL version back to 23.976 as well as the audio, I've upscaled the video a bit and cleaned up some of the film dirt. Sadly, there is no way to improve the image quality much more because it's video-film-video-DVD so not enough details are preserved.
I've done some extensive work on the audio though. Since only the voice(s?) are live I used a modern method to extract them and replace them in the SACD version of the album, with the video's vocals being EQ matched to the album vocals, as well as reducing some of its distortion.

If there had been a sequel to Rock Star 2001 movie, it should've been a look back to the 1970s, Steel Dragon with original cast for Steel Dragon before the replacement of the lead singer as the opening act for Rainbow, Val Kilmer starring as Ronnie James Dio for the role since he could sing vocals just like he did for The Doors 1991 movie, Johnny Depp, Izzy Stradlin as the guitarists and some other musicians as the keyboardists.
