Shout out to Scott Storch. He definitely doesn't get enough credit for actually being able to play an instrument. One of my friends would play the piano back at home and when I say her and my childhood best friend that played the guitar would spend hours practicing these instruments they would spend hours. I don't think people realize if you're really into music to hear it from an actual guitar or piano is a skill within it's self. Not just some produced beat like that old school music instrument used to be something else. I played the clarinet and couldn't not understand how to read notes. That's what a "C note" used to stand for in the past. Like to read music is a gift from God. Shutout to all the real artist.

Ima a small producer who loves making his own music and everyone always ask me whos my favorite producer. Its always someone basic they think ima say like southside zaytoven london or whatever. Then I tell em Stortch and almost everytime the person goes who the hell is that 🤣🤣 then I just start listing hit songs that 9/10 a person who listens to hip hop has heard it before. And the price on there face is crazy. This man does not get enough recognition in my opinion but the fact he’s so humble with his great gift and not claiming to be “the king” or “the one who started this” makes him even more of a role model too me. And hearing his stories just goes to show no matter how huge a problem can be God is bigger and can help you overcome those things. And this man is walking proof

He did in the sense that Dre listened to Storch play and said "I like this" "I like that" etc.. and chose what to actually use as the beat for the songs. Storch discovered the melodies while Dre produced the songs with those melodies. Ya dig?
