    Showed me that I need a lot of practice. I did relent and use straight edge. As I draw from left to right, I tend to bend my straight lines up therefore the straight edge reduces my frustration for now.....................

    Amazing vid! This is very practical with perspective actually being used to draw object instead of just drawings boxes in empty space Idk if you missed drawing in three point perspective because it's hard for beginners or others reasosn, but still a good video regardless! Hoping to learn how to draw that car at some point because I'm dying to know! Can't wait for the next topic!

    • @RTIFEX
      @RTIFEX  3 года назад +3

      Thank you! That's exactly right. Perspective drawing is important for all subjects, and cubes are just a simple way to demonstrate the basics. I did try to limit this some for beginners, but 3-point perspective can definitely be a future video topic.

    Thank you for showing this drawing method! but can it be possible if we use this method for drawing people?

    • @RTIFEX
      @RTIFEX  3 года назад +2

      Yeah, you sure can. In fact, I show some of this in action in my How to Draw Hands video (around minute 3) - ruclips.net/video/SeHrKx32a5M/видео.html.
      Perspectives when drawing people can help you draw the foreshortening of the figure more accurately.

    Ok like for e.g. how do you know where to put the vanishing point when drawing a car?

    • @RTIFEX
      @RTIFEX  2 года назад +1

      You can do this by tracing the lines of the car in the air and continuing to draw the line straight out to the horizon. If it's a picture, you can do this even more accurately by placing a ruler or straight edge on the lines of the car and seeing where it vanishes on the horizon.
      With 2-point perspective, you can get a good estimate of where the vanishing points are located based on how close or far the car is from you. If it's closer, you get a more extreme perspective, and the vanishing points will be closer to the car.

    Which Sketch Book would you use doing this, and what about "Newspaper?!"

    • @RTIFEX
      @RTIFEX  Год назад +1

      I recommend smoother paper with smaller "teeth" so you can easily draw your lines straight: bristol or hot-pressed. This particularly helps on detailed artwork with lots of buildings.

  • @redjohniii8665

    When I draw the boxes they don't come out like yours. Idk what I'm doing wrong, it's so frustrating

    • @RTIFEX
      @RTIFEX  2 года назад +2

      What do your boxes end up looking like? Also, are you drawing your lines with a straight edge? If not, it'll be more challenging since free-hand lines are less accurate.

    • @redjohniii8665
      @redjohniii8665 2 года назад

      @@RTIFEX when I try to draw the back side of the cube like at 1:39 it just ends up looking wrong. I'm not sure how to explain unless I showed you a picture of mine, not sure if you can do that in a comment though. No I'm not using a straight edge, should I be doing that?
