    The first part was really useful, I struggle with the upper body (shoulders in particular) a lot. I tried gesture drawing with the example, and, well... i guess I know what I need to work on. TYSM for making such a great series!

    • @RTIFEX

      My pleasure, Aquila! I'll admit, gesture drawing takes practice. The biggest part for me was learning to see the lines before actually drawing them. It's particularly helpful to look at other artists' examples of gestures alongside the actual subjects they drew, so you can see how they interpreted things.

    sorry, I may sound pretty stupid, but how do I draw the shoulder line left and right and twice the width of the head without measuring and calculating?

    • @RTIFEX
      @RTIFEX  Год назад +1

      Don't worry too much about accuracy at first. Just focus on getting the basic guidelines and proportions down after your initial observations. You'll continue to refine your lines as you draw and compare.

  • @locochavo4560
    @locochavo4560 3 года назад +2

    Great work! I will say that the figures you drew don't work for me as l perfer drawing my figures with organic shapes and a more construction for better control over proportions, but l see how this could good figures for others as it uses long lines and boxy figure akin to a very simplified Brigeman's figure. However l will say l do find your method of gesture drawing to be amazing, since a lot of gesture drawings video often use a lot of anatomy and construction in the gesture instead of using the gesture line as guideline and keeping the outline of the gesture simple which l think gesture drawing is all about fundamentally yet it's not very common to see be taught(specially in a simple matter like your vid did)

    • @RTIFEX
      @RTIFEX  3 года назад +3

      I appreciate the feedback, LC! The construction here is definitely one of many ways to achieve the same outcome, and this is one I figured might help those just starting out with the human body. I like simplifying it even more sometimes and focusing on shading in the later stages. Really, it just depends on my mood. Also, glad you like the gestures! I like going chaotic on my quick gesture lines at times. 😄

    • @locochavo4560
      @locochavo4560 3 года назад +2

      @@RTIFEX Same here. More fun and dynamic than trying to get one clean gesture line 😄

    • @RTIFEX
      @RTIFEX  3 года назад +3

      @@locochavo4560 Oh yeah, absolutely. I feel like if I try making things too clean and perfect in the beginning, I limit myself way too much.
