No salt and no tide, maybe life will get easier. Glad to hear that you have relatives along the way and I know you will enjoy good times together. We just had the same at our house. Take a breakand get your land legs back in use and then time to get back to the look. We really enjoy your trip and always look forward to the next step in the loop.
Great video. I was surprised by the wake from the first cat that passed you. Must have been because of its large size of its hulls as the PDQs we have seen produce very little wake at speed. Nice that you are able to visit with family for a bit. We are in the midst of our annual family, food & fun fest here on Opinicon Lake. I am looking forward to your next series of videos as you get back to canal cruising.
Hi Gary, and thanks for watching our trip to Troy. It can be a bit unnerving when you see a boat with such a big wake approaching. If possible, the best thing to do is turn into their wake. We’re excited to share our journey up through Lake Champlain and through the canals in Quebec. Enjoy your family time on Opinicon Lake!😎
I live in troy and Boat on the river. The Salt water ends south or West Point USA Military Academy . Troy Has Several Colleges in town including Russel Sage Collage, Hudson Valley Community College. and RPI. The Collage of Sant Rose Is Now closed down in Albany, This happened This Spring 2024. Liked your tour.
We’ve been watching your videos throughout the entire adventure, keep ‘em coming we love them. How have the engines and systems on board been throughout the trip? Has maintenance been easy to perform? Is it easy to get parts and supplies along the route?
The single Yanmar engine has run flawlessly throughout our entire journey and Malcolm has been diligent about the maintenance. It’s been quite easy getting oil and any parts along the way. The only time we faced a challenge was in the Bahamas and even then, we found a solution. The maintenance itself is easy to perform. Thanks so much for following our journey! We’re excited to share our trip up through Lake Champlain.😎
That was a cloudy gloomy gray skies cruise. To be expected sometimes while cruising your adventure. Y'all are getting close to the end of your adventure, right?
Definitely a more cloudy day on this leg, which we did in May. Instead of travelling the more common Erie Canal route, we decided to go up through Lake Champlain, along the St. Lawrence River, the Ottawa River and finally down the Rideau Canal. We will finish in the Kingston, ON area and still have lots of episodes to share with you! Thanks for following our journey TMac! 😎
Im just wondering if being back on the eastern third of North America so long makes you homesick enough to want to move back to Ontario or perhaps Atlantic Canada? Will you take the opposite to take Stay Cool to Nova Scotia, PEI or even venture out to Newfoundland? It seems like your boat can handle it, its just what you want to do i guess. And lastly, if you do go back to BC, do you have a boat up there or would you consider getting another boat to explore Pacific, maybe explore the inside passage, San Juan Islands, cruising around Vancouver Island or up to Alaska? Just a curious non boat owner (currently) who wishes her husband was not afraid of the water, didn’t know how to swim and wasn’t raised around boats like me. Id be absolutely worthless working on the engine but That part he could handle easily. I could be the captain and he the engineer. Or perhaps I could be the admiral ;)
Hi Tammy, Ontario will always feel like home but we are super excited to start exploring beautiful BC and the Pacific waters. It might be a crime to live there and never get a boat!😜 On the Great Loop journey, most loopers go along the Erie Canal. We have chosen to go up through Lake Champlain, up the St Lawrence River, past Montreal, then up the Ottawa River and finally down the Rideau Canal. This is a beautiful area and we’re excited to share it with you! Here’s a thought: since you are a boater at heart, you could learn engine systems and maintenance and your non-boating husband could become a “first-class passenger”?!?
Great video. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Thanks for following along Mike! Have a great day!😎
Thank you for another interesting ,positive and enjoyable video.
Thanks so much for following our journey Andrew!😎
First YT cameo😝 lots to see in Troy and Albani!!
You’re always a star in my eyes!🤩 Great fun in Troy & Albany with you two.🩷😎

@staycool123 we'll work out something, but it's good to hear that y'all will still be boating out on the west coast and I hope you keep making videos.
