    I think the air wielder is with Nolon because they can suspend someone (venin?) in the air like Xadens family’s trove when Violet has to fight with the Venin after meeting with Cats uncle

    So, I thought it was funny when my closed captions changed Xaden’s name to “Satan”. Today, I noticed that it’s changing Solas’ name to “Soul less” which actually feels pretty accurate.
    Also, it just occurred to me that Liam kind of wrote his own “Book of Brennan” for his sister.

      I wrote the exact same thing in my notes! but then when X sees him and reads his intentions he says that he (Varrish) wants to kill her - that his intentions are clear... so could it have started by him wanting her to turn and then being so angry that he just can't stand her any more?

    • @MalPlan01
      @MalPlan01 9 месяцев назад +1

      Wouldn't she have to know how to reach for that power before she could actually do it to become vennen?

  • @julianaaraujo7928
    @julianaaraujo7928 11 месяцев назад +17

    Violet wanted Xaden to tell her things willingly and it's okay that she was curious about the Revolution but most of the things she was angry about that he kept weren't about the Revolution. Xaden could have talked about Cat because Violet asked if the agreement his father had made involved her and Xaden didn't give details and Violet had to find out from Cat in the middle of a fight about the engagement. Xaden could have talked about the deal with Lilith because he knew Violet knew. She says during the book that sometimes she doesn't know Xaden and that has nothing to do with the Revolution and Xaden himself says that he knows he's not an easy person to get to know. If he had continued to tell Violet little things about himself - like he was doing in the letters - she would have felt like she knew him and could trust Xaden the way he wanted her to trust him. Rebecca herself said that Xaden wants Violet to trust him blindly but he gives her no reason to do that. I understand both Xaden and Violet because they are both young and traumatized with no one to advise them and they are both in the middle of a war. I think Rebecca could have included more scenes of them where they were together but not fighting and just talking normally

    I am so deep on the intinsic train with you, Nicole! I honestly thought, almost immediately, that Verrish's signet was a "Type" of intinsic, and then we find out that he can read people's desires. Dain can read memories, I call that a TYPE of intinsic. Xaden can read intentions, also intinsic... I think there is a very blurred line here on what counts and what doesn't fit getting someone killed. I think it's "you can read thoughts as they happen" is a full stop, and every other variation is like, "Well, maybe we could use that, so they can live" vibes. Violet even addresses that Dain's signet is so close to it, but yet they let him live.
    And don't even get me started, because I wholeheartedly believe that Violet's second signature is also a type of intinsic. I'm calling it here and now. I can't wait to get to the chapters where she's dreaming so vividly about the vennin. I don't think those are her dreams! I think they are Xaden's dreams, and she can read them. 😳 God's, I could talk about this for hours.

    • @MariePo.8
      @MariePo.8 11 месяцев назад +1

      I was wondering about those dreams - they were different but also similar - it felt like someone was pushing a similar vision in both Vi and Xaden and it was just a matter of who will be captured first and made to turn venin to save the other. The common phrase I remember was something like "you will turn for something much more dangerous - love"

    I figured the air wielder with Nolan was either A: performing a kind of CPR on Jack and pushing air in and out of his lungs while Nolan healed him because, even though he’s a venin, he did have a literal mountain dropped on him
    Or B: the air wielder is using air to keep Jack suspended so he can’t reach the earth to channel, like a human Riorson chest

    Ok, on my second read through of Iron Flame. Grady says "As frustrating as it is, we’re actually pretty proud of the concoction, so let us know if you feel any side effects.”.
    To me, this says theyre testing the serum out and using this as an experiment to see just how effective it is. They're using Fourth Wing as the control and seeing how much it affects the veninfied cadets in 2nd wing.

  • @Nerdygoddess
    @Nerdygoddess 11 месяцев назад +6

    I just assumed that they were using air weilders to keep Jack suspended in the air. When Violet was showing off to the Viscount, they kept the venin suspended in the trunk from Xaden's father... Obviously there are some holes as they aren't supposed to be able to channel in the wards, but there might have been other reasons.
    Also I forget where it was said, but somewhere someone mentioned that one of the venin's sources of recruits was the unbonded Griffin cadets. Which I find strange. The Griffin Riders are the ones fighting the venin, but they are kinder and more leaneint in their policies, and that lead those that were unchosen to becoming jealous and channeling from the source. The Dragon Riders, who are actively pretending that venin don't exists are like: "Na, dragon doesn't chose you - we're just going to let you die." Which would technically decrease the number of venin (Plot hole in the fact that the cadets shouldn't know channeling from the source is an option, but...). This is why I don't think leadership is experamenting with venin (regularly) before Jack, and I don't think that they have a deal or agreement with the venin. But I don't think that Jack is the only venin that has infiltrated.

    Having one episode a week it's not enough 😪
    I know this was not a subject for today´s episode but I needed to share it as soon as possible: my theory about Vi's 2nd signet: "It has to be about TIME, it is not a coincidence that when she refers to time uses the word "heartbeat", so I am positive that it will have to be related to time, not sure what exactly but that is my bet, also I think she is going to be abel to use her power from Tairn and give it a different form, knowing her signet is POWER and that she willed it into lightning, gave me that hint.
    At the end of the book, Violet speaks to Codagh directly, and maybe Tairn can speak to Varish or he is talking to his dragon, which I think was that particular case. It was one of my favorite scenes as well, and also was amazing to realized how important Tairn is among dragonkind.
    I need to read all the letters, Liam's, Xaden's, Lilith's, everyones.
    I loved when they where at the land nav exercise how they where described comparing the infantry, it also showed a part of their personality.
    I finished my 2nd read and I loved the book even more. I got a lot of new details, and can´t wait to hear your thoughts.
    Thank you girls!

      I love this 2nd signet theory! Great point, she does measure time A LOT (such as in Resin and during the archives heist . . . almost like she’s slowing it down.) I’m going to re-read and see how many times she measures time in moments when her loved ones are near death. I don’t think that’s a coincidence. And you’re also right, I don’t think her signet will allow her to time travel. Yarros said she gave us several hints about her signet in Iron Flame and it might be when she measures time when death is lurking.

    The warning about taking people in could also be becasue Violet said after she was injured they went to villages looking for help. If no one had helped her, Violet, Sgael, Tairn and Xaden would've died and problem solved for Aetos Sr who could be working with Markham.

    My theory is that the air wielder was there to “encapsulate” Jack Barlowe, because as we saw in Violet's scene vs the venin in Cordyn, they had to isolate the venin so he couldn't absorb any power. So I guess they also have to do that in Basgiath so they can “have control” over the venins.

  • @lechenx3
    @lechenx3 11 месяцев назад +4

    There is one ponit in the book where Varrish said something like "Some even have control over their dragon" and Jack also said something like this in the end when they destroyed the wardstone... So yeah I totally thing Varrish was Venin 🤔

  • @mandeeTerrane
    @mandeeTerrane 8 месяцев назад +1

    The air wielder with Varrish was likely keeping Jack suspended in air so that he couldn’t channel. It was a clue that he’s working on a venin that comes full circle when we get the venin in the chest later at Cordyn.

  • @Wickedali1127

    I think the air wielder is there to keep the venin suspended off the ground so they can't channel while Nolon works on them.
    Maybe they were trying to work on them while they weren't doped up on serum hoping it would make a difference.

    I understand why they would drink the poison in the woods. What I will never understand is why Violet would drink the lemonade Nolon gave her. She was just outside kissing Xaden in the empty courtyard he walks away then Nolan comes out with the lemonade. Nolon then says that he was getting lemonade for himself when JACK BARLOW told him that Violet was in the courtyard so he got her some. Like Xaden and hopefully Violet would have noticed if Jack was outside in the courtyard while they were talking about the journals. Also the timing does not make sense how did Jack would of seen them walking inside told Nolon he was like or let me gag her some lemonade in the middle of the night after curfew and take it to her. Like what?!?! I can understand Violets thought process through most of the book but this part makes me insane. Like Violet use your intelligence for just a hot minute. She also never tried to hide the satchel from Nolon.
    Final random thought I had through this whole book is where is Nolon’s wife. Like does she know what he is doing. She was all for protecting and helping Violet in Fourth Wing like how does she feel about him torturing her and mending Jack.

    Also hoping in on the intinsic train here. around the 18 minute mark, they start talking about how maybe the venin have some sort of intinsic capabilities, and how badly they want Xaden. I believe it definitely could be possible, because throughout the battles with venin, they adapt to the fighting style with in seconds.

In the first chapter of Fourth Wing we were told that in the few minutes Violet was in her mothers office, her whole room was emptied out and all her stuff was put away in boxes. Her room prior to being a cadet isn’t the same as her room in the quadrant (I assume it’s more like “family quarters” for leadership families). The riders rooms weren’t touched after they left bc there were no riders to take over them and no riders to pack everything up. The riders are the ones that prepped the rooms/quadrant for new cadets in the week between graduation and conscription day.

    I don’t think baby dragons can bond as a bonus in top of an adult. The only reason she was able to bond as a child was bc she is the head of her den. She makes her own rules. She is part of the big boss group and there is a boss for each. So she is her boss and in her den rules she could bond even thought another dragon had also bonded. I don’t think it’s bc she is a child she can it’s bc she is her boss and she said yes.

  • @imrcswow

    I just reread chapter 13 from the perspective that Carr might be a double agent, and I don't think it is completely out of the question.
    Throughout the whole scene, he is the one trying to speak sense into Varrish, telling him that Violet is going to burn out. He uses losing her powerful signet as his reasoning, but we are seeing this all from Vi's perspective only... she interprets his words as him ONLY caring about her and Xaden's signets, but I think it is possible that he was using that as his reasoning, knowing that Varrish hates Violet and won't accept any other line of reasoning.
    At the end of the scene he does his best to save her, telling her to skip the flight field and go directly to the courtyard for food and a cold bath. He knows she is close to burnout, but probably doesn't know exactly how close.
    So I don't know, but I am not sure Carr is as bad as what Violet believes. To be a successful double agent, he probably needs to do some pretty awful things to keep his cover. I don't think it completely disqualifies him from double agent status.

    In my head, violet friends don't know about the mind to mind connection to xaden. They're just see them, staring at each other and just accept, that's a thing between vi and xaden. Sometimes people in reallife also can just fight without saying anything so ... I think violets don't know about this connection.

    I'm wondering where Leadership draws the line between mind-related signets. Like Varrish and Dain's signets are related (maybe even the same) bcs he is Dain's mentor, and Melgren also has a mind related ability. Xaden on the other hand is an intinnsic but that is considered to dangerous so people with those signets are killed. How does Leadership differentiate between what mind signet is useful and what is too risky?
