This is absolutely amazing. I didn't know why I always felt anxious, scared and unhappy in relationships.I went to a concert by myself recently and loved it. I rock.
AMEN! I HAVE FOUND THE WORST problem in our lives/relationships is WE DON'T SAY what we WANT because we DO NOT FEEL WORTHY or CAPABLE!!! SPEAK UP!!! You are WORTH IT!!!
Thank you! What a wonderful message to share at Christmas. I am that person who came from very little self worth which led me into toxic relationships---relationships that were difficult to end because I feared being alone. I am happy to say that through therapy, workshops, seminars and podcasts such as this I am so much happier and cherish my relationships as well as my alone time. You guys are awesome!! Merry Christmas
It's all about the willingness to WALK AWAY and MEAN IT. Once your boundaries has been crossed, especially if it has been crossed repeatedly, on a consistent basis, it's time to walk away and to mean it. Your actions says it all. If you keep going back then your words becomes meaningless. Let go of what no longer serves you.
Terrie Smith make them believe you mean it. But make them earn that second chance ... if you really love them. Everyone is human and it’s not if they mess up but ..., when. Of coarse there are those hard lines we all have ! Don’t bend on say....cheating ect
I’ve been alone for the past 11 months. No spouse, no kids (grown), no employer, or even any pets. My boundaries have been crossed too many times over the last 50 years, no more! I’m currently in best relationship I’ve ever been in with myself! Now self employed and Focused on self care and self love. I have never been to a movie by myself yet, guess I’ll try that next.... Thank for this amazing podcast and all that you both do! Hearing these podcasts help beat the negative self talks out I sometimes have.
This video is helping me break through my biggest blocks and I don't even need to sing kumbaya. Amazing podcast. Lewis, great work. I'm a great fan of your work.
Thanks for this. I have a sister that avoided me for 5 years and suddenly she started talking to me again at Thanksgiving. My reaction was stonewalling. No response. I'm not proud of it. I had been thinking about contacting her and apologizing for that. And I just did. Thanks for the nudge. I feel more powerful already.
Yes! That’s why I’m writing my book, Lewis! I want others to learn from my experiences with my learning boundaries & other relationship skills! (& I’ll read my book to keep myself accountable/aligned)
Good tips. I especially like the one where he says that if someone makes you feel stressed, anxious, or sad, then it is likely that a boundary is being crossed. I think a lot of times we don’t realize this. We may blame ourselves and think it is because we are doing something wrong or need to improve.
LOVE this! This topic was what I dealt with in 2017 and still trying to figure out how to recuperate from the lack of boundaries in my professional career for years. I feel that setting boundaries play a big part in mental health/self-love. Thanks for sharing such an important video! #TRUTH
Perfect video for Xmas! Having boundaries on "paper" and TRULY honoring them through ACTION (keeping these agreements/boundaries FOR MYSELF) and being able to walk away when they are crossed are what rebuilds the self-worth. Thank you and Merry Christmas!
Every person you invite on SCHOOL OF GREATNESS always bring something new for me it's impossible to watch the show without learning something but John Assaraf and Chris Lee take it to an other level........and also Lewis there is one question you ask him so thank you for that I really satisfy with the answer...
Incredible content, such a great session Lewis! Know and understand self worth, boundries, value. Thank you Lewis for the continuous lessons of greatness from business to relationships.
Good good stuff. When I first heard about boundaries it was so difficult to receive the message and it was so counter to my thinking ruts! Now I get it and discussions like this are so affirming and convicting!
Namaste, Lewis & Chris! Love this guy! Lewis, Chris just set an amazing truth free! We Don’t celebrate our victories enough! I also think the answer is counter intuitive. To develop our self worth muscles we must start to train them. How? Start with small weights. Set a small boundary first-- in a new relationship... it sets the stage for a great relationship but also helps you feel more worthy & gets your training started! This is the Best Christmas gift ever, yank you Chris & Lewis! Merry Christmas! 🙏💪🎸
Very much enjoyed this podcast! Lewis, I love all of your podcasts! They are all so helpful and informative. I want to acknowledge your listening skills! Makes you the best "interviewer" :)
@@lewishowes I'm in the process of working on setting boundaries, so this one about boundaries with Chris Lee is at the top of my list at the moment. 😊 I like every single one I listened to. I'm a huge fan of Marisa Peer, so I really enjoyed your podcasts with her.
Looking at my achievements does not build my self-worth to the point that I set boundaries or love myself more. First it suggests that I am only loveable and enough if I achieve/if I am productive. Then I go and look at the people I want to set boundaries with and what they have achieved and may find that at first glance they did more or better. That sets me back. It makes me feel I am behind and need to earn their love to have some of their success rub off, perhaps. Being focussed on my performance has been detrimental in those times when I realized that for whatever reason - physical or mental - I could not meet my own standards in performing.
Jane Tafrich I get that . Those were my fist thoughts as well. I think we need to think about how it can work. I think the idea is 1)know your value, 2)know what you want it to look like, 3) then set frames ( or establishing the context of what you want by what you are willing to GIVE) as you grow these get crossed until these ground rules are set in a relationship. :) then listen to them about what they need.
Hey Lewis I work in Law Enforcement and I agree with how u guys were talking about not getting angry at the other person. How can I go about that attitude which i try my best to do at work.?
I am really enjoying this video. My question though is what if when you bring things up it gets turned on you, its like stepping on a landmine. They do not want to hear your feelings. When you bring something up they shame you and minimize your feelings? Can you please do a video about that? I have developed a fearful-avoidant attachment style because of that. I am scared to speak up now after my many attempts in the past have resulted in being gaslighted..My body literally starts trembling, stomach in knots at even the thought of speaking up.
At 35:40 Chris Lee talked about self value which I am ok with. However somewhere he talked about creating our own world for ourselves to mean everyone who wants to be part of it has to entirely cope with your will. Is that the best way to live with someone because you feel you're in power? What about your partner's will, dreams and values? I'd like to have your opinions about that guys?
Not everyone's version of success in love and relationships is a wife and kids. For one thing, Chris is a proud gay man. He just doesn't feel the need to speak about it all the time.
This is absolutely amazing. I didn't know why I always felt anxious, scared and unhappy in relationships.I went to a concert by myself recently and loved it. I rock.

Terrie Smith yes so agree so hard with young adult
Agree 1000% Let go and gain your trust back 🙏💙 ps. Thank you Lewis

I've never tried going to the movies alone. Hmmmm. Sounds kinda fun!
Anyone have the link on the forgiveness episode mentioned ? I didn't see it in the description,
how long into a relationship do you have this discussion and set these boundaries?
Yay! Can’t wait to watch this! Thank you Lewis & Chris!
Great advice
is it bad to get divorced when you have kids?
What's poison for one person maybe medicine for another ..
Is this dude even married? I never even hear him say anything about wife and kids.
Not everyone's version of success in love and relationships is a wife and kids. For one thing, Chris is a proud gay man. He just doesn't feel the need to speak about it all the time.
Ashton Colby well idk that. And it's hard to have a relationship being single aka that's like having an unhealthy personal trainer.
