If you want to hear interesting american military history told in the best way, then you found one of the best military trained story tellers! All true stories based off of military records, history books and biographies dedicated to fact finding of each individual he talks about.
The original video even LEFT OUT one of Daly's most impressive feats. He and his men were pinned down in a dry river bed by gunfire from a nearby building during the Battle of Veracruz (Mexico), 1914.
Daly low crawled out of the river bed and snuck into the building were he single handedly skilled the 7 men in the building. 5 with his firearm, and 2 with his bayonet.
@@MrVvulfjust when I thought I had heard it all, Dan Daly doesn’t cease to amaze. Thanks for that fact, all I know ab Mr. Daly is what’s in the fat electricians video
Agreed, I second this opinion.
This comment is 1000 percent correct
Also check out Violent But True
Imagine being a Marine recruit in bootcamp, and hearing all of these stories from Drill Instructors who are screaming it at you, challenging you to put on Daly's or Chesty Puller's shoes. This is partly why Marines fight so viciously.
The great part is that they don't even try to have us put ourselves in the shoes of heros. The story alone motivates people and the only thing they add was, "guy did great thing, you can also do great thing starting with this small thing" oversimplified of course but it gave us that much more drive to better ourselves.
Army has a Plumley .... DON'T ASK ABOUT THE WEATHER !
Is it true Chesty was the last man to Ride Reckless?
Starting with the crazy shit pulled in the Barbary Wars.
@@ImprovmanZero I am not sure.
I’ll never understand people who want a creator to react to something and just not talk and give their opinion on it, pause as much as you want man, I personally like hearing your opinion on things, do more fat electrician please
ty so much, I also feel that!
@@european-reacts you pausing is SOOOOOO much better to see than the usual reactor making 2-3 remarks a video and saying they're "reacting". You give GENUINE feedback and you're more than halfway to being an American already! 🤣
@@european-reactscheck out a story on Desmond Doss!
Don’t think the fat electrician has a vid on it but the guy refused to carry a weapon based on religious reasons in ww2 and was a medic and saved like 50 lives.
@@BlueDebutor not pausing & just talking over whatever they’re reacting to & missing half of it. Like someone who talks during a movie & then asks you what’s going on bc they missed it all
Yeah, I like the reactions of the reactor as well. You can tell his interest in the story.
TFE is a National Treasure. His Berlin Airlift video is really great.
Great reaction brother as a former active Marine we learned about dirty Dan , Chesty Puller ,Smedley D. Butler and many others. The story you just heard is true check out the war horse named Reckless by the fat electrician.
I was a Marine in 1st battalion 5th Marines from 1999-2003. The same unit Dan Daly was in during the battle of Belleau Wood. Because of that battle 1/5 is allowed to wear the French fourragère to this day. One of only 2 units in the Marine Corps
5th and 6th Marines
The Fat Electrician has so many great videos! The Berlin Lift, Iran Navy, McNasty, and German Uboat are a few of my favorites..
The stories of badass Marines doesn’t stop at Dan Daly. Chesty Puller, John Basilone, Smedley Butler, John Glenn, Carlos Hathcock, Lieland Diamond, Joe Foss, Joseph Vittori, Charles Mawhinney, Gilbert Johnson are all legends in the Marine Corps.
And I absolutely have to mention the man i had the honor and privilege to serve under, General Mattis.
William J Crawford wasn't a Marine but he was a badass too.
😍🤩🥰
No Chris Kyle? Audie Murphy? (Not sure if Audie was army or marine)
@Jim87_36 Chris Kyle was a SEAL. Audie Murphy was Army. I listed Marines.
Reckless, America's Warhorse.
He is very good. He simplifies things quite a bit, but his information is accurate.
He started off with short-form videos on TikTok so his fast speed and simplification were to cram as much into his video as he could. Even his sponsor ads are short and to the point.
A few of his things in this video weren’t QUITE accurate: such as the marines getting their nickname of Devil Dogs from the Germans (not true) and saying he entered the Marines at 16 when he was a bit older, as well as Daly himself admitting he didn’t come up with that infamous quote. But still, very good video and those are things that used to be believed so it’s okay.
There's a sergeant during Vietnam who was shot to hell, couldn't die, did die, and came back. Risk his life for his comrades. Master Sergeant; ROY PEREZ BENAVIDZ.( rate at time of action; Staff Sergeant) May 2 1968 MEDAL OF HONOR. Supreme Warrior, risks his life for his men, many times.
I'm a Marine (no longer active duty) who served with modern versions of Dan Daly, so not only was he real but his spirit lives on in many serving today. One staff sergeant in particular I served under was a certified badass and would have followed him into battle like those who followed Dan. On the front of his office desk, he had a sign saying 'Some people are alive simply because there are laws against killing them". I do miss being in the Corps sometimes.
Semper Fi.
"Come on you sonsabitches! Do you wanna live forever?" Is such a legendary line! I never knew who said it!
Apparently it was somebody else besides Daly, but still
I gotta be honest here, the reason why they haven't made a movie about Dan Daly is probably the same reason it took them so long to make one about Desmond Doss (the guy played by Andrew Garfield in the movie "Hacksaw Ridge"). And that reason is that the stuff he's pulled off is so unbelievable that hollywood is worried people will think it's fake instead of a true story.
I might have some doubts if I didn’t know about him but I’d immediately go look up the story and find out it’s true.
I typically do do that after watching any historical war movie. And to learn more about it. That’s just me but I’d love to see Dan on the big screen.
All " FAT ELECTRICIAN " are awesome "Angry Old Veteran vs. 700 Redcoats - Samuel Whittemore" is really good
I agree that he's one of the best story tellers
Hell yeah 🇺🇲 American here, SgtMaj Daly is a folk hero here like all of our military heros. The American fighting spirit is unmatched and unbreakable.
This is a real story! It’s amazing.
Legend!
Please keep reacting to The Fat Electrician!! Some more of his best videos are The Barbary Wars and Operation Praying Mantis. Don't quit pausing, that's why we're here, to see your reaction! If people don't like the pausing they can watch the original video haha
Love your reactions, and super excited to watch this video. I’ve been anxiously waiting for you to get introduced to, the legend himself… The Fat Electrician. Two of my favorite RUclips channels. 👍😊
As a U.S. Marine myself, I learned about Sgt-Maj. Dan Daly. Oh yes he was very real. Semper Fi.
Semper Paratus patriot!! xo
Man i'm accidentally early! The Fat Electrician is such a great content creator! Definitely recommend more!
*EDIT* also, your english is just fine, and don't worry about the pause haters. The people that are genuinely here to watch YOUR reaction to content will be the one's that frequently come back.
Excited for you to start watching this guy!!
This was so much fun!
DUDE........ The Fat Electrician is the BEST story teller. His page is full of stories that are not to be missed.
Yes, he is a GREAT story teller. React to more please.
Besides the two metal of honors he had. The Navy Cross,
Distinguished Service Cross,
Citation Star,
2 Purple Hearts,
Médaille militaire, (France) and the
Croix de Guerre (France)
Audie Murphy is someone you might want to look up he was the most decorated soldier in World War II
Semper Fi, as a Marine thank you for watching and spreading our history. We take pride in those Marines that came before us. Dan Daily is a Marine we all look up to.
The "eager beavers" video by him is by far my favorite
I'm grateful to one of my old grandparents El Cid for the tenacity he instills in me
You keep on reacting the way you react - we in chat love how you watch and listen AND react ! 😲😧😃
1 😂 Yeah, he's a great storyteller. He has a lot of funny videos
6:03 yes mate I agree with you there. I hadn’t seen this video or that channel before, so it was good to find out about that! I’m also enjoying learning more about the Boxer Rebellion. I learned a little bit about it when I was very young, reading comic books that touched briefly on what the Marines went through there but I never really knew the context of the rebellion. So I’m glad I’m learning more about it in a little more depth. Good on you for reacting to it!
I'd highly recommend the rest of FE's stuff, even his short form stuff.
If you're not aware but the fat electrician was a former us army combat medic or 68 Whiskey in military parlance.the thing that makes me watch him besides the fact that we're both army vets is that he has a great and warped sense of humor that only being in the military can produce 😅😅
He is a very good storyteller and has a lot of facts. I’ve researched a lot of his stories and they are ALL correct.
He is a bit loose on a couple things, but the jist is always real. The China thing he had a second with him on his gun, and another machine gun crew.
I love watching your reactions, and your pauses. You pause when something that interests you! I am not here to watch the main video, I am here to watch you reacting to it! I love your insights, thoughts and feelings.
The Fat Electrician is the kind of history teacher. I wish all kids have. History taught in a way that is both fun and memorable.
I love watching these videos with you and seeing your reaction to them. I understand you perfectly and the people that complain just want to have something to say.
6:00 this dude is an amazing story teller. And it's all ad lib.
Liked commented and subscribed
25:33 loved the reaction.
Off to Cassius Clay
Check out all his stuff, not just the historical stuff, he's got some videos on interesting military stuff, and events, and units. His video on the Eager Beavers is insanely fun, as is his video on the uss William d porter.
Yes more from the Fat Electrician please sir. 🙏
I'm glad you're enjoying this. I found him a few months ago and I can't get enough. The one thing I take away from his videos is how ridiculous the US is (in the best way possible) Other excellent videos are Aimo Koivunen, Lewis Millett, Sgt Reckless, The Ontos, Jake' McNasty' McNiece, The Eager Beavers, Samuel Whittemore, The Barbary Wars, Virginia Hall, and his latest video: The Berlin Airlift.
Fun fact on that Indiana Jones clip. There was this big planned fight to take place between the swordsman and Indy. Harrison Ford was very sick during that part of filming and just said "Hey, what if I just shoot him?" and they went, "Ok that works." They finished the scene and Harrison Ford went back to bed.
In WW1 a new Marine recruit was informed he would be in Dan Daly's company. His response was; "You mean he's REAL?! I thought the Marine Corps made him up!'
Dude I'm a US Marine. I saw this video when the FE put it out. Don't worry about the interruptions. I'm here to listen to your BS European accent. Merry Christmas!
Audie Murphy was the same and even acted as himself later on when they made a movie about the things he did in WW2
The movie also toned down his actions because nobody would believe it could really happen.
My son was in the Marines for over 11 years and tells me these stories all the time. I'm so proud of my "Devil Dog". He enlisted in 2005 because of 9/11. I'm very blessed he came home. I love your reactions to our history and honor of our heroes.❤
You should absolutely check out more from the fat electrician literally any of his videos there’s not a bad one their all amazing.
Also as an American I was furious when I learned Dan Daly wasn’t awarded a third Medal of Honor, I wanted to call my sheriff’s department to report a robbery.
The concept of taking 14 men prisoner with a pistol that only holds 7+1 is, just fuckin hilarious to me.
I have said it b4 and ill say it again, i watch reactors to watch them react. As long as the reactor is not overly fond of his voice, i WANT the reactor to react!
You have to watch The fat electrician “ the time the us navy sunk half of the Iranian navy in 8 hrs” it is awesome.
Great reaction!! Two Fat Electrician videos to suggest... "America Obliterates Half Of Iran's Navy In 8 Hours! - Operation Praying Mantis" and "The Flying Ginsu - A Missile Full Of Swords"
My husband is a US Marine, he’s old and no longer in active duty, but once a Marine, always a Marine! Yes, Dan Daly was a real man and did those impressive things! ♥️🇺🇸
Fatman is one of my favorite history teachers
The Fat Electrician has the best war stories and tells them in an entertaining way. I'm a retired electrician in the US so I'm particularly partial to his videos.
Best of the best mr fat electrician All his videos I recommend can’t wait to see more of these love the channel
There is a movie... sort of.... "55 Days at Peking" is a 1963 American epic historical war film dramatizing the siege of the foreign legations' compounds in Peking (now known as Beijing) during the Boxer Uprising, which took place in China in the summer of 1900. It's not about Dan Daly but it's about the rebellion. Very loose with the history but a good story.
His story telling is using 100 percent US Veteran terminology. Humor hides the turmoil. But he shows the excitement side of serving
I love the fat electrician 😂….history is fascinating and hilarious and he brings out both to the fullest.
I like your pauses. I want to hear your comments, you do you man. Also, your English is just fine.
So happy you found the FE ❤
he should have gotten his third medal of honor.
If you want to know what makes America so dangerous, it's not that we have 2 or 3 more Dan Dalys. It's because we have 100 million who think that they are tougher. Happy new year.
From Iowa........................John
TFE is a phenomenal orator. Both his humor and attention to detail is on point. He never disappoints.
"This is better than Batman!!" Great comment!!
Yes , he is a great at story telling
Love your reaction here! So good! And yeah Fat Electrician is an amazing storyteller, and I pretty much recommend anything from his channel. I can't pick a favorite if they're ALL my favorite, lol!
In World War I, Daly became further cemented into Marine Corps lore when he is said to have yelled, "Come on, you sons of bitches, do you want to live forever?" to his company before charging the Germans
I love your reactions and this one was great. I have been wanting you to react to this guy for a long time. Please do more videos from the fat electrician. He is very good at describing historical events accurately but with a bit of humor. He also does videos about military technology which you would love. You should check out his video called " Grand Theft U Boat.
This dude has a bunch of really cool stories, all of which are true. And he has a great way of telling them.
Growing up in the 1960s there were many Marines in my area of Chicago from WW1 to Vietnam and we heard many stories and they were all great, and they were Hero 's
Read a book called "Marine". It's about a marine called Chesty Puller. He went from private to general in the Marines, and he was cut from the same cloth as Dan Daly. He one nearly every medal the Marine Corps had but the Medal of Honor.
There are a few Medal of Honor recipients who did have movies made about them- Audie Murphy ( who played himself in the movie) and Sargeant Alvin York, who hated violence, so instead of wholesale killing of Germans in WWI, he single-handedly captured over 130 soldiers in one battle.
Def do more from him. The Proportional Response video is a classic of his!
Awesome reaction, as a Marine the story is real and he is one of the men we strive to be like.
Think about what Dan Daly actually said about Marine Corps officers, he stands out as an NCO, but would just be another officer.
I like when you get excited and your english goes down. Who cares man, we can all understand your smile and excitement, that language is universal.
Great reaction, You should check out his Iran Navy and McNasty. They are both great.
Of course Eisenhower was talking about Audie Murphey when he said the quote.
Hey! I just found this channel thanks to RUclips's recommendations. I've got to say, I love seeing other people around the world react to The Fat Electrician's videos! Most of his videos have been about the American military so far (since he was a medic in the National Guard), but he's been branching out to cover badasses and overlooked military geniuses in other countries recently, which has been fantastic. Looking forward to seeing more of your reacts! Much love from the US. ❤
There's an old movie from 1966 about the boxer rebellion called " The Sand Pebbles ". It's not about the U.S. Marine he's talking about, but it's about event's of that time.
The fat electrician is just a rockstar military historian, Jake Mcnasty, the real life starfox, andthe eager beavers are all videos that are just awesome to watch
YES!! Would love to see you watch more of him
I am a subscriber to the Fat Electrician, have already seen this video twice. I am watching it again to see your reaction. Stop apologizing for pausing your videos. Great reaction! Just subscribed!!
John Dillinger is definitely worth learning about! He's a very infamous American Mobster from the 1920s who created his own gang and went on a spree cross the country ending in a huge shootout with the FBI.
Learning about the stuff he and his crew pulled off as well as the escapes he made sound like stuff out of a movie!
Also- your English is just fine, i had no troubles understanding you. Good video man. :)
Loved your reaction to this one and there is a lot more. Thank you! We’re all very happy to be an American 🇺🇸. And no one is going to take our freedom !
My sons introduced me to him - GREAT presentations, wonderful turns of a phrase!
His story about Samuel Whitmore is truly amazing.
To be completely honest, during his defense of the Legation Compound he actually ran out of ammunition for the machine-gun, his rifle, and his pistol and was reduced to using his knife by the end of the engagement. The 200+ bodies were the ones that didn't limp or get dragged away.
I absolutely LOVE your reactions! I find your enthusiasm to be just charming. I understand your English with no problem. Keep up the good work my friend. ❤
You should hear the story about Sergeant York and his heroics. He took so many prisoners. They thought it was a parade and it was by himself.
The Swedish metal band sabaton wrote a song about the marines called devil dogs check it out they also have a history Channel sabaton history all of sabaton songs are military history based
I agree with you I like this guy's story telling. Yes do more of'em. Yes Dan Daly is true.
The Sand Pebbles with Steve McQueen starring is about the Boxer Rebellion.
Theres a small town in Indiana called Muncie ( also known as little Chicago ) but thats another story any way Dillinger once said he would never rob a bank in Muncie because every road out of town was crossed by railroad tracks. Meaning if you robbed a bank in Muncie you most likely would never get away because the roads could be blocked by a train.
Also check out Chesty Puller. He was a US MARINE LEGEND, a Marine's Marine.
If not already, check out Chesty Puller, USMC. In boot camp the last thing we yelled as a unit before sleep was, Good night Chesty, wherever you are. Semper Fi.
I love the fat electrician. He is a super great storyteller.
Fat Electrician is my favorite (Mostly) American History channel on RUclips, i highly recommend more of him!
Wait until you hear about Jake "McNasty" McNiece.
The bank robber he was referring to was John Dillinger, a sort of larger than life criminal who robbed something like 25 banks in the Midwest. There is a lot more to the story, books have been written and movies made about Dillinger.
