Excellent video, thanks Craig, had one for years, superb gadget, use it for labelling all sorts of stuff around the house, shed and garage, easy to use, but just ran out of the tape, wasn't sure how to load new one, your video shows this very well; I had a three pack of tapes, using the black now, blue and red remaining, will order some more black and get labelling......wonderful old technology, thanks Craig, well done!
Thanks for the no nonsense review/guide, wish I had gone for the dymo label embosser instead of a slightly cheaper "Matsuro" brand thing that broke in the first month of use.
@@Craig-Mitchell I've been packing stuff into long-term storage boxes, the paper labels I'd been using kept getting damaged by humidity and wear and tear 😕 even packed some seeds in Mylar and used the permanent marker on duct tape trick to avoid the solvents damaging the Mylar
Hi Gerard, I passed my Omega on a good while back, in favour of the Brother P-Touch and a Dymo Letra Tag, both of which I would recommend. Can’t honestly remember how the Omega worked, sorry this isn’t more helpful 😔
Thanks for the demonstration. I usually put a space before typing letters too. The problem that I have with the European version is that it doesn't have the character ' to punch between letters, unlike the American version. I think the American version also has exclamation marks and so on. So I would like to see more of a choice of characters. Thanks for sharing.
I didn't know there were two versions ! I print out a lot of labels of the same lettering, so I upgraded to the Brother P-Touch. Been using it for more than a year now and very pleased with it 🙂
You're welcome Nathan I upgraded to the Brother P-Touch GL-H105 Label Maker which was £35.35 of a well known web site. It does a lot more than I need, but for the additional £20 or so, the ease of functionality is worth it to me 😉 My Dymo Omega is still grand. I will do a comparison in the next few weeks...
I've had a couple of these and they both had the same problem. The tape at some point starts to jam. No matter how you try to get it through it just sticks or starts to feed inside and doesn't come out. Very annoying as the rest I have no issue with. But if tape can't come through it is effectively useless.
Mine puts a slight space between the letters even if I punch it properly and firmly. Like ‘SAU CE’. It’s so annoying, it’s a new one too. Wondering what it can be?
Hi Angi, I upgraded to both a Brother P-Touch for my outside growing business and a Dymo LetraTag for labelling my food storage jars inside. They are both fabulous 😁 Upgrade 😉
Be bought one brand new, unpacked it and it is absolute trash. None of the selected characters get embossed and it doesn't even cut the tape... You get jibberish and have to rip it out forcefully!
Hi Miki I quickly bought a Brother P-Touch garden labeller after the Dymo Omega and it is fabulous for labelling my outside things like the plug and seed trays. Later I bought a dymo LetraTag which is fabulous for labelling all my indoor things like food containers. NOTE, the LetraTag labels aren't suitable for outside because they fade to nothing in sunlight 😉 Hope this helps, good luck 🍀
Hi Stephanie I do give a reasonable distraction free demonstration of how the Dymo Omega works and my view on how well it works, just play fast forward till you get to that bit 😉
Cheers for this video. Just bought a this label maker, instructions are useless but with your video got it working sweet.
Thank you ❤️ Liked the whole video. The beginnig is so cute, showing us your work proudly.. 🥹
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂

Glad it helped Richard. Great labeller 🙂
Cheers Craig... watched your review and have gone and bought one to label various bits on an old sailing boat. Many thanks⛵
Glad it helped 🙂
Thanks for this video, very helpful 👍
You're welcome, glad it helped 🙂
Cheers Craig, great demo
You're welcome Adam. If you can afford the upgrade, then go for the brother p-touch labeller😉
Thank you - thought it was broken!
You're welcome, glad you got it sorted 🙂
Thank you for this video, Craig! I bought this Dymo too but didn't know how to replace the tape.
PS : I'm labelling new seeds. So exciting!
Glad it helped Ingrid.
Good luck 🍀 with the seeds
Thank you, this was really helpful
Glad it helped 🙂
Thanks for that… my arrows were not lined up. Now works perfectly.
Glad it helped Jan 🙂
thanks it really helped😁
Thank you a lot! I thought I needed to buy a new one.
Glad it helped Jaguar Fred 🙂

Glad it helped. If you do a lot of labelling, then go for a Brother P-Touch 😉 More expensive by a long way, but a year of excellent service so far 🙂

Fair enough, glad it helped anyways.
Good luck 🍀
Thank you! You help me a lot! :)
You're welcome Ana, good luck 🍀
Just wondering do you twist the top and bottom together or just twist the top ?

Fab instructions on how to refill my demo, thank you

Thanks for a great video Craig - I'm considering getting one of these for the workshop and this answered all the questions I had about the Dymo.
You're welcome Nathan

Hi there, I upgraded to a Bother P-Touch and a Dymo LetraTag which are both fabulous.
If you use labellers a lot, then my advice would be to upgrade 😉
@@Craig-Mitchell neither of those are 3d embossing labelers

They are cheap, as long as they make a label everyone can understand I guess.
@@Craig-Mitchell that’s sad to know, it could at least do what it’s supposed to do
@@JustBlondie I guess if you can understand what it says a year from now, then that's grand, its doing what its supposed to 😉
Merci pour l'explication quand on change de rouleau
De rien 🙂
Grand video
Thanks a mil Jhair 🙂
How do you make a space?
With the space key 😉
When I go on the scissors it doesn’t cut it just makes the label longer
the alignment of the two wheels might be off. Make sure they align this way. I just fixed mine! ruclips.net/video/Hr3jH_zHevo/видео.html
When I change the tape it doesn't cut all the way through and letters aren't punching :(

Hi! Is there an option to make multiple labels of one word at once?
Short answer 'NO'
The brother P-Touch labeller will though 😉
The one I bought doesn’t work! Ugh 😑 doing it just like you were!
Upgrade to the Brother P-Touch September 😉
Lol, I just did this and wasn’t paying attention to what I was clicking. Clicked 666... yikes.
