Awesome tutorial! Interesting that big containers can hold relatively less. Thank you.

They added content aware container pickup be vehicles? Lovely. Thy might be finally usefull without enormous storage spaces to not accidently mix them up.

very good tutorial but please spend some money on your mic. It is hard to follow due to the bachground noise. Alternatively try to fix the voice track in the software you are using to record. ;)

Good tutorial, but that unloading scheme is a bloated mess. If you are delivering cargo to satellite cities, you never deliver enough of it to warrant container storage additional to the unpacking facility's own. Also, you only need one unpacking facility, but you may want dedicated warehouses for storing individual resource types. Also, you only need one forklift garage, as again, you never have enough cargo moving about to warrant more.
Pretty much the same applies for export. I only have one packing facility attached directly to a large warehouse, into which I dump all cargo assigned for overseas exports. The facility simply packs everything that is available, and a train then takes it to the port.

      Sort of have to agree.
I havent found a real reason to use them except boat or dealing with way overcrowded Border (which if you play long enough to try containers you know to always start your city BETWEEN two Border stations and to set up a que road system that will run till trains takeover the majority so Border shouldn't be that overcrowded)
~Train load quick enough with regular stuff so no need for extra realestate, $ of build, utilities, and workhours to support containers.
~Buying another vehicle is way easier/cheaper (in long run) then setting up container support for a product to move from point A to B
Also as some1 else pointed in comments. No 'tubers use them... again because they are very nich. Cool concept... hard to implement into usefulness with current game build.

containers need more love, maybe even "force" player to use them , I am imagining scenario like a message will pop-up when some research is done (either researched containers or some trading treaty that will grant stable prices) that will have a condition that all exported and imported goods 1 year from now will have to be in containers if possible.

Excellent overview. Containers have been quite hard to grasp. Thank you!
Just a small comment. The sizes of the Containers are in feet, not inches. So 10 foot container, 20 foot and 40 foot Containers ☺️

Could you do a construction industry setup tutorial, like you did for the waste and recycling tutorial?

What part of the construction industry? Construction offices? Production materials for construction? I currently do have an early game construct office tutorial that might suit what you looking for :)

Learned a lot from this the biggest one is i can deliver goods via the ships i never used them because it just wasn't something i found a use for. but if i can ship goods off map for money then ships would be the best way due to the amount they ship. now i got to make enough goods to ship out of the country in that kind of mass lol not something i've done yet.

    • @ymeshulin
      @ymeshulin 6 месяцев назад +2

Keep in mind, that various modes of transport have different effect on the price fluctuations. For example, when transported by ships, resources experience smaller price changes than when transported by road. So in theory you want to start using ships as soon as you start producing enough goods to sell to neighbours. Same with buying.

I still a bit unsure when I need to use containers... Any further tips?

    • @CaffeineEncrypted

Thanks for your comment! You don't necessarily need to use them, they are just another option in the game. They tend to be really good for massive exports during late game but their current mechanics need some updating to keep them effective compared to the alternatives
