- It’s lucky cars aren’t as bad as the names they’re given because the Qashqai would be a shocker. Fortunately, the Qashqai is a good small SUV and this latest update has made it even better... and safer.
So, what’s so new about the 2020 Qashqai? What’s good about it and what could still be improved. Finally, there’s something else you should know, and it might make you want to wait longer before you do buy a Qashqai.
The Qashqai is one of Nissan’s best SUVs for the space it offers in such a small package. A good driving experience is short of being great thanks to the CVT auto, and the value could be better.
Now, here’s a spanner in the works for you. A new generation Qashqai isn’t far away, it’s probably about 12 months off and it will have a new look inside and out, have the latest technology, plus we’ll almost certainly see a hybrid version.
If you can hold on, do it, because what’s likely to be an even better Qashqai should be worth the wait. But if you are in market right now, the ST+ is definitely the pick of the bunch. The update has seen it pick up an excellent array of advanced safety equipment.

Senior Journalist? Shouldn't that be "BOSS BERRY"? (p.s. Do you consider Nissan's CVT on the Pathfinder a better application thanks to its torquey V6? In other words, CVTs are generally only dreadful with small engines?)
Wait, what's the difference between the 2019 and the 2020 model?
andriod auto or apple car play is the big change... some models come with 19 inch wheels. some models get a sport flat bottom wheel and the napa leather is new I think.... not sure about that last one

You bet we can. The company had some issues supplying the new model as a press evaluation vehicle, but we have some bookings in the pipeline, so stay tuned. We're even planning to put it in a comparison this year!

I give this a thumbs up cause I like the style of your reviews … but I don't like this car much. It just has nothing inspiring about it. One can't like every car though.
Never buy a Nissan Qashqai timing chain issues and after that new engines are needed. Appalling air conditioning new condenser needed every two years. Parking sensors fill with water when it rains and it thinks your parking when you drive Nissans answer was to drill holes in the bumper to stop the water ingress. Watch out for the warning signs oil consumption that’s the start of your Nissan journey enjoy 😉 PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS CAR. Sorry Nissan but you need to honour the people who bought the faulty cars you produced with Renault building the engines and fitting the piston rings incorrectly. If at least one person reads this and it stops them buying one I am a happy man.

Dipak rai Hello Dipak my comments will continue to be everywhere till the day I die.If you had bought a car from them and two years down the line your Nissan dealerships mechanic says he can’t guarantee that a £1300 repair for a timing chain will fix my car it will just occur again due to poor engine construction. In 2014 Renault and Nissan produced a 1.2 Digi-t J11 class engine with a turbo. It was a faulty engine due to the piston rings being fitted the wrong way. These engines were allowed to be left on circulation. I bought my car with 21000 miles my Nissan mechanic confirmed my car was one of these with the dodgy engine. I am still waiting 9 weeks now after opening a dispute with them. I have realistically not been able to drive my car 8 months despite paying the finance on it and tax and insurance My complaint has been escalated twice by the dealership and Nissan customer care. I will be telling everyone my story until justice is done. If they don’t resolve what’s happened my next step is to ticket every single Nissan Qashqai car I see on the road telling them to get there car timing chains and oil checked. It would be cheaper for them to give me a new engine.

I bought a Nissan X trail new in 2017, it's been a pig! The electrical system keeps killing batteries every few hundred miles with zero warning, the parking sensor is constantly telling me im gonna hit a wall and the electronic parking brake system failed twice, it came back from the service center last week and before I got home the warning lights are going off, bloody fault on the brake system agsin, all this as it's beeping it's bloody arse off with the front sensors! Argh, I hate the things!
