If it were me, I’d be talking to Yabu about contract expectations in the summer and be very frank with each other. With his body type though I’m not really interested in paying him for more than two more years and maybe normally you bump the salary up for the shorter contract but if you can’t get him in that 10 million range little bit more maybe then I’d unfortunately look to trade him at the deadline,- he is extremely cheap right now and almost any contending playoff team could fit that salary on their roster and essentially be getting you know a proper $15+million role players worth of production from a vet min , That’s really valuable to a team like that the way the salary cap is structured now with money having to come back for what you send out and taking in a vet, min who is producing, and at that level, should get you a pretty nice return of draft assets probably a mid to late first maybe a couple seconds as well. I don’t really know the value on some thing like this because his salary is so low it kind of is a little unusual so a team might be willing to spend more draft than normal on a player like this for their postseason run, especially if they think they’re nearing the end of their window. I’d like the Sixers to go full tank and do their best to ensure they do get that top six pick even if it’s not ensured - hell maybe you can even get that pic protection removed by trading him directly to Oklahoma City for their title run.
