I’m a Yamaha guy. But, I’ve been rocking my 9000 pedal since 2015! Still going strong!
Cooincidental that this video would arise, simultaneously with my very recent re-purchase of the mighty 9002. I've purchased every notable drum pedal that has been released in the past 30 plus years. Two pedals stand out - The very first pedal I owned being a Ludwig Speed King, and the DW 9000...of course! Weather it's two singles or the double pedal, this is the standard. Feels just like coming home. Many other pedals have some great innovations and excel in certain aspects, but when you're tired of gimmicks and just want the most natural feeling extension of your foot, look no further. I believe this is the best all round performing pedal that has ever been built. If i had a foot as quick as Gerald's, I alsmost wouldn't need the double. I still often love my extreme metal though, and yes the 9002 is rip roaring fast too!
OVER 2O YEARS AGO AROUND LIKE IN 2OO2 I BOUGHT THE DW 5OOO DOUBLE CHAIN AD SINGLE PEDAL AND ABOUT 7 MONTHS LATER THE 9OOO CAME OUT I TEST IT OUT AT MY LOCAL AND NOT THERE ANYMORE SHOP 😢 " WEST COAST DRUM CENTER " IN ( SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA ) IT WAS REALLY NICE BUT NAAHHH NOT FOR ME IT'S TOO SMOOTH I LOVE THE 5OOO INSTEAD DO TO THAT IT'S SMOOTH BUT IT HAS MORE OF A GIVE YOU ACTUALLY FEEL LIKE YOU SET YOUR FOOT ON IT AND IT RESPONSE BETTER AND HAS LIGHT RESISTANT THAT YOU FEEL YOU ARE ACTUALLY STEPPING ON SOMETHING AND IT COMES BACK AT YOUR FEET BUT I REALLY LOVE THAT FIRST 9OOO THIN PLATINUM TITANIUM LOOKING FOOT BOARD ONE THAT WAS A LIMITED EDITION NOW THAT I'D PREFER PLUS NOW MORE THAN OVER 2O YEARS WITH MY 5OOO AND NEVER EVER HAD OR HAVING ANY ISSUES WITH MY PEDAL BUT I GOT A TENSION SPRING OVER 15 YEARS AGO JUST IN CASE IT'S STILL IN IT'S BOX CAUSE THE ORIGINAL ONE HASN'T BEEN BROKEN OR BENT OUT OF SHAPE STILL STRONG SEEMS LIKE I BOUGHT ONE PEDAL AND WILL NEVER NEED TO REPLACE IT CAUSE OF IT'S HIGH MOST UP QUALITY PARTS AND HEAVY DUTY THAT IT'S MADE AND BASE ON I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE 5OOO TO ANYONE THANKS DOM AT DW FOR CHANGING AND MAKING THE BEST PEDAL EVER 💚
