- Three billion human lives ended on August 29, 1997. The survivors of the nuclear fire called the war Judgment Day. They lived only to face a new nightmare: the war against the machines.
The world "grail" pops up a lot for collectors. Without hesitating, I can definitely say that picking up Sideshow's life sized T-800 Terminator is a GRAIL piece for me. The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day have always been extremely important films to me, and T2 is one of my all time favorite movies, if not my absolute favorite movie, so it's been my dream to own a terminator for a long time.
Having said that, I have no problem shying away from issues with products when they arrive, and there are sadly several with mine and I go into those during my video. Replacement parts are on the way, so I will be uploading an update video once everything arrives. But for now, I wanted to show you the piece just as it arrived.
From the sci-fi classic 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day', Sideshow Collectibles is proud to bring Terminator collectors the T-800 Endoskeleton - Version 2.0, standing atop an impressive display base littered with human skulls and debris and is weathered to be more film accurate. Standing over 6 feet tall, the T-800 Endoskeleton is high quality polystone, fiberglass, metals and other materials, complete with light-up eye features (power cord/plug-in). The T-800 Endoskeleton - Version 2.0 is a stunning and imposing piece, sure to become the centerpiece to any collection or display.

Man... you are so lucky. I hope that one day I can own one of these, it's been years now since I first wanted one but maybe my day will come. This is the first video I have seen where a unit had issues like this.
I don't know if I'll ever have anything better than this when I get one. I believe this will be my Ultimate piece.
It’s not out of production yet, so it’s still possible! The defects were severely overshadowing how much of a grail it is for me though. But, after 6-7 months, it seems like all of the issues are finally taken care of. I still plan on making another video going over every problem it had, but I’m letting it sit for a bit first time make sure more don’t come up.
Very cool😎
They sent me a replacement head as one eye wouldn't light up. The second head was exactly the same. So I fixed and improved the eyes . Now remote control, chest pistons in correct locations and drilled a few holes for missing movie acuate hoses. 10 years and I still have the numbered boxes - 36
Nice! Sucks to hear about the issues tho. I'm guessing these things hold their value as they are made to order.
The problems were definitely a tough pill to swallow, especially after it was delayed for 6 months. But the replacement pieces are already on their way, so hopefully everything will be smoothed over once they arrive. And thanks for watching and commenting!
I’ve seen every video unboxing these and yours is the most honest, which scares me cause mine is being shipped next month 😬
I’ve had this for a little over a month now, and my situation has gotten worse... They shipped me replacement lower legs, but they don’t fit into the base, the replacement hydraulic cord was just tossed into the leg box so that was mangled, and the cord for the light bar was also tossed in with the legs and that was completely crushed.
So it’s disassembled all over the room right now, I’m waiting for a new base that will hopefully fit the legs, more cords, and I still have a month of waiting before a replacement skull can be sent. So I really really REALLY hope yours arrives without any problems!
@@IndustrialBlue wow, that’s really unprofessional. I’m really sorry that happened. Spending that much money shouldn’t include that stress. I hope you get your parts soon
@@erickponce1364 Yep, this is really putting a bad stain on Sideshow for me. A small rebate for needing to deal with everything would have been appreciated, but they haven’t offered anything yet, except for replacement parts. The level of QC issues is astounding for something like this!
@@IndustrialBlue Damn! That’s horrible mate.
I’m getting mine tomorrow can’t lie I’m a little nervous that I’ll have the same issues, hopefully not. Congrats on getting one and hopefully you get yours working right.
I haven’t seen any other videos mentioning the issues I had, minus the lean, so that’s probably just my good luck kicking in again. And if you do have any problems, the team at Sideshow is very helpful. They’ve spent plenty of time understanding exactly what the issues are so they know exactly what will need to be replaced, and they’ve been very good with keeping me updated. And I hope you love it when yours comes in!
@@IndustrialBlue just an update on mine. The thing looks great, all parts where there. So I had trouble figuring out why the eyes wouldn’t light up at first and it does have something to do with the remote and bottom light bar being connected, plus the button on the head and the battery placement on the springs as the AA batteries don’t make full contact with the springs at first in the battery pack it requires some shimming around a bit. Now the only issue I am having is the batteries completely drained in a few days, even when it’s shut off and that I don’t understand. I’ve gone through 3 packs of AA batteries since assembly. Not sure how to fix that issue unless I only put batteries in it when I’m ready to turn it on but that’s ridiculous to have to do that every time.
@@The1Jaguar they still haven't got it working right . I'd say the head switch cuts the battery power otherwise it's on standby ready for a signal to come from the remote.
@@LifeSized101 yes I finally figured it out the switch on the head kills power to the battery so when I’m ready to turn it on I hit the switch which puts it into standby then use the remote to turn it on and off but in order not to drain the batteries I shut the switch off on the head when I’m done with the lights.
Someday Terminators will be functional one day!👍👍👍
Whats the current status? Have you had all of your issues resolved yet and replacement parts installed? Thanks! At least it still looks badass…
Oh, I can give you a list of things that have happened so far! After this initially arrived, it was a month of waiting before the replacement parts came in. Lower legs, a hydraulic cord, and the power cord for the base. The hydraulic cord and the power cord were just tossed into the box with the legs, so those were crushed. And the legs didn’t fit into the base. So I had to contact them again and get more replacements.
2-3 more weeks go by, while the T-800 stays disassembled on my floor, and another hydraulic cord and power cord are sent, along with a new base. Luckily, nothing was broken that time.
But I didn’t pay much attention to the legs last time since I put them to the side when they couldn’t fit into the base. The big toe on the right foot is cracked and nearly falling off, and there’s a chuck of resin that is cracked off on the back near the knee. But hopefully those won’t be issues with the weight it needs to support in the long run.
So everything is working now, and I need to contact Sideshow one last time to let them know, and set up a freight pickup to take away the old boxes for the base and lower legs. Honestly, if they don’t offer some kind of rebate for this with all the back and forth, careless handling of replacement parts, needing to assemble and disassemble it 3 times, and schedule multiple freight deliveries with 4 hour windows, this might be the last time I order from them.
Quick question, how long after finishing the payment did the terminator arrive?
Roughly about a week from California to the East coast. But then I needed to set up a date for freight delivery, so that was a few additional days.
Thank you very much for posting this video…. I have a quick question please… are you able to detach the weapons from the hands? Thank you 😎
Man you had some bad luck, must be so disappointed. Mine was perfect, no problem with anything. Had my Terminator for over 8 years now, still looks and works like new. 😅
Any updates? I was considering buying one and this video changed my mind.
Still in the back and forth with trying to get replacement parts. I think the most recent was finding a 5 inch long hairline crack in the knee of the upper right leg. Requested a new pelvis piece, but the knee hole didn’t seem to be drilled wide enough, so the connector bolt doesn’t have clearance to go all the way through. Right now I’m in the middle of a small fight. They gave me 2 options at this point: keep it as-is for a Sideshow credit, or send the entire statue back for a refund. They refused any more replacement pieces (some of which I needed due to them arriving broken) or a full replacement. I countered an offer and haven’t heard back in the last 7 days. I planned on making a full video of all the issues I’ve experienced, but they’re still piling up and I didn’t expect this to take up nearly 6 months of time.
@@IndustrialBlue why not ask for your money back or a new one? Are they making you pay shipping? This situation sucks….sorry about that. Makes me hesitant to buy the next drop in march/April. Any case can’t wait to see that video!
@@trollzone1 They did offer a full refund, but then if I buy another one I’m risking that I’ll have a whole new host of issues and start the process all over again. At this point, I just need a properly fabricated pelvis section and it would finally be set. As long as there aren’t any other issues that pop up like the infamous lean…
@@IndustrialBlue damn that’s good customer service though. Yeah I could see the molds being in terrible shape after 10+ years of making these. Damn shame QA is so bad.
Yeah it helps if you're a model builder
Are the Plasma Rifles permanently fixed to the hands, or can they be removed if you wanted to display the T-800 holding just one (or none)?
They’re bolted right in on mine, but it looks like it could be possible to remove them.
woow that must suck to pay like what $7000 plus for a statue and it comes defective. i love the lazer rifles though,. Id love to get one of these 1/4 scale t800 statues.im a huge terminator fan.
If you buy used is normal to expect issues. But still nice how it looks, that hydraulic pype should be there at least
This wasn’t used. It was new and directly from Sideshow.
I have near on half the terminator t800 does anyone know we're I can sell them most still in packs
ディアゴスティーニで発売してくれたら買う!
Be interesting on your updated video. Read about so many problems with people whom have purchased these
I’m STILL waiting. More and more problems keep popping up with it. So far it hasn’t been in complete working at any point. Once everything is finally taken care of, I’ll do the updated video and mention everything.
@@IndustrialBlue such a shame especially for the price
how much was the cost?
It's about 8 thousand USD.
Tx. Does that light up in thw eyes?
Hey man would you ever consider in selling your model ?
Not any time in the foreseeable future. I finally have all the replacement parts for it, and it finally seems to be perfect!
Just thought I ask it’s beautiful if you do keep me in mind enjoy ✌🏻👌🏻
The problem whit this piece is- they had 3 series from the V-2.0! The first one is whitout any problems and than the quality became getting worse! I hear the last serie have a lot of problems.. really bad i'm sorry about that
Luckily it seems to be in good shape now that a bunch of parts were replaced. Now I’ve just gotta watch for that infamous lean to take effect…
How do you sleep at night with that
They are made in China, but you can't solely blame manufacturing as this comes down to very poor quality control on Sideshows behalf.
Are these really "life size" ? that's 6'2 without the base. 188 cm.
Not quite. It’s a little hard to tell since the base isn’t flat, the knees are slightly bent, and it hunches forward a little bit, but I think it’s closer to 6 ft tall without the base.
@@IndustrialBlue ok! 👍Because if not, it's not Arnold specs 😁
i think u just got a reject
Even the replacement parts I’ve received have problems. I’ve already requested a 4th power cord. The first didn’t work, the second arrived crushed, and the third died after a couple weeks. It’s actually kind of amazing!
@@IndustrialBlue u just recieved a what we call a lemon,, its a shame though.. i love mine
It's a work in progress, luck well then you can make it your ultimate version
you forgot the pneumatic hose on the right or left shoulder depending on the camera
The pin snapped off and couldn’t be attached. I go over that in the video.
Does that light up in the eyes?
