Luis, the knob from the old lid is plated stainless steel. I used it to replace the aluminum knob on my 5.5 dutch oven. All the newer smithey knobs are now stainless steel.

So it SOUNDS like…if you REMOVE the knob on the old lid, and add silicone washer/grommet, then reinstall knob, you could have TWO full function lids??

The glass on the new Smithey no. 11 lid is also a little thicker.
